Now, under the leadership of Dr. C.D. Jebasingh in Bombay (Mumbai) India and Mr. Abraham A. Singh Williams,  a network of key people and talents has been established to allow rapid location and placement of Village Evangelists. Multiplication is dynamically possible by associating with established evangelists who are uniquely trained and able to oversee from 10 to 100 (or more) of our CDP grass-roots VEs.

VILLAGE  EVANGELISTS

Our VEs are in general essentially laymen who desire to serve the Lord despite being non-literate. They are able to be most effective by use of structured audio cassette messages, - along with personal testimonies to bridge the Gospel to the hearts of the villagers. This process works, -- it is most effective.

10,000 VILLAGERS PER VE

Each VE is responsible to regularly take the Gospel to about 10,000 villagers in their 10 villages -- normally over a period of two years.

FELLOWSHIPS/CHURCHES

The VE seeks to establish several fellowship homes/churches (up to one per village) which provides for continued growth in each of the areas. In due time, they are integrated into solid, Bible teaching groups for further fellowship and accountability.

TO UNCHARTED AREAS

This process is working very well, significantly helping to move the Gospel frontier solidly into previously uncharted areas.

THE TASK

As of February  '98,   80+ Village Evangelists (VEs) were ministering in eight of the largest states, with cassette materials translated into four of the remaining states.  Today (9-'99) there are 90+ with 40 new  VEs planned for Rajasthan State. 

ULTIMATE REQUIREMENT

The total/ultimate requirement is for about 80,000 VEs to reach all the villages -- where one VE reaches ten villages. Yes, there will be almost 800,000 villages in India (by the year 2005) that must be reached!

THE CDP IS A PROVEN PROCESS

Designed, implemented and matured over the last ten years -- it is very effective, where trained villagers are reaching villagers -- it is most cost effective, we of the western nations couldn't do it for 80 times the amount.
