Dear Outreacher:         He is RISEN! --

He is RISEN INDEED!

Because of that wondrous  Easter Day, we focus once again  towards Jerusalem, Israel -- reveling in the 'deed that was done' and completed on that Easter day almost 2000 years ago. -- Yes, our Lord's completed task: living, dying, rising from the dead for us!

We trust that your heart also quickens as you consider just a little of what He did for you (us).  Certainly, that quickening continues to resonate in our chests, seemingly our heart will burst -- then, we hear our Savior and Lord say (don't be a hearer only, but a doer of the Word): "Go Ye into all the World and preach the  Gospel".  GLORY -- he has commissioned us to be His ambassadors to a Lost and gainsaying humanity -- yet, a humanity that He dearly Loves.  Sure thing, He loves the sinner, but He hates the sin!  Also, He has said that we that have received so much, -- much is required! -- yes, from our full cup, we have great opportunity to overflow to the Lost!

PTL  for  each of you "ADOPTERS" that are 'holding the line' for the Village Evangelists (VEs) in India and Ghana, Africa. We know that the Holy Spirit -- God's Great communicator   --  is  confirming to  you many blessings which the VEs receive   as they minister: even as you continue to have such a significant part in taking the precious Gospel of Light and Life to the villagers.

Yes, in their desperate need you made it possible for those thousands in 'your' villages to hear, believe and receive our wonderful Savior and Lord.

Please let that soak in -- yes, you made it possible -- isn't it great to know you are on His team!!

If -- yes,  if you haven't experienced this joy and blessing, you can!  For you too can ADOPT a VE and help him/her to minister effectively to their own/nearby villages.  You will never  know  this  joy,   being obedient to our Lord,  helping to reach out to the lost, unless you ADOPT!! We can't encourage  you  enough -- for your sake and theirs.  As you know there  is  a  tremendous need in India and Africa -- India alone has about 800 Thousand villages with about 800 Million villagers (perhaps a total of 500 Million children). A horrendous task which we are attacking, presently reaching out to about 1.3 Million villagers, -- leaving another798.7 Million to be reached.

Significantly it is not a hopeless task, for just as one eats an elephant 'one bite at a time', even so, this behemoth is finite and our ministry partners in association with a number of networks of existing evangelists, believe that the whole of India's villages can be reached yet in this first decade of the new millennium.  No body said it would be easy -- safe -- or without problems, BUT, our God has commanded us/them to "Go Ye" so they are!  In a way, we have taken 'one bite' -- we now need to get the table set for the next 800 or so bites  -- hopefully on an express schedule wherein all can hear soon!

A typical Village in India

As we have said often, the 800,000 villages of India each have about 1,000 villagers (of these perhaps 600 are children).

Can you picture a village?  To aid in our perception we are including two pictures o f  villagers, homes    and   m e e t i n g shantys. Please  s t u d y these carefully -- basic huts, bare ground, thatched roofs, sparse trees, mostly bare feet, in general simple clothing.

Think about the wide spectrum of problems faced by these dear folks as they struggle just to eke out an  existence.

The adults live constantly in a survival mode -- almost always barely getting by.  Is it any wonder that "they start dying the moment they are born" as some have said. Yes, their life expectancy is probably less that forty years of age -- placing even more imperative on getting His Good News to them as soon as possible.

We hear about and are rightfully concerned when we see storms and earthquakes causing damage and many lives lost. Too, we empathize with children that are in need. BUT, even more, we are brought up short when we realize that the villagers (almost 800 Million) are always in dire striates.  Yes, actually, with only 1% of the population dying off each year (which is way low), there are over 20,000 villagers dying each day! -- all presently without hearing of our Lord!  Yes, truly, these are PEOPLE that need the Lord!  This speaks mightily to the proposition that we all must help -- how can we do less than our best!  But then, -- apparently we don't really care -- not the way Jesus cared and CARES.

Oh that our hearts would seek to share of our abundance with them!  Yes, they have so little, -- we have so much!!

Another Perspective on Much and Little

With the village life style and limitations firmly embedded in our mind, let's take a look at the "Rich Young Ruler" of Jesus day (see Luke 18: 18 -24).  Yes, Jesus said he was very rich.

Consider this delineation of things we have that he did not have (this taken from the weekly Forever Young newsletter of the First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, California):

How Rich  was the Rich Young Ruler?

The Bible tells us that the ruler who came to Jesus was “extremely rich”.  Just how rich was he? Consider:

. He could not travel down a highway at speeds of 70 mph while talking to someone across the country on his cell phone.

. He could not flip a switch and cool his house in the summer or heat it in the winter.

. He could not have some of his clothes being washed, while otherwise were being dried and at the same time have his dishes cleaned in a dishwasher, while he is watching a ball game being played in another state on his TV set.

. He could not travel in an airplane.

. He could not type letters on a computer and send them across the world in seconds using e-mail.

. He could not buy stock, or move his money around with the push of a telephone button.

. He could not of to a sink and turn on water.

. He could not get any insurance to protect his house, his possessions, or his health.

. He could not get glasses for his eyes, hearing aids for his ears, or dentures for bad teeth.

. He could not write a check or uses a credit card.

. He could not take a hot shower.

. He could not play his favorite songs by his favorite singers any time he wanted.

. He could not record his children’s birthday parties on VCR tapes.

If he was rich, then what are we?

Yes, how rich was the Rich Young Ruler?  Interesting -- how very, very, very, very rich we are in comparison.

Also note:  essentially everything that applied to the Rich Young Ruler also applies even now to the villagers of India and Ghana, Africa (almost 2000 years later)!  Yes, they have so little of today's goods and capabilities.

So then, what manner of 'men' ought we to be, seeing we are surrounded by such need -- such devastation.  Jesus is reported this way in Luke 12:48b: "to him that much is given, much is expected".

Yes, "Young Ruler" -- how sayest thou!

A contemporary translation of that passage from (The Master Plan) has Luke reporting Jesus this way: "If God has been generous with you, He will expect you to serve Him well.  But if He has been more that generous, He will expect you to serve Him even better".

Clearly, -- as we are blessed we should bless others -- especially when they have so little.

Now then -- as you   talk with your Father God -- He will lead -- He will provide!  Remember Jesus promised in

Matthew 6:33:  "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you"

Again, the Master Plan states it this way: "But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what He wants.  Then the other things will be yours as well."

DO IT! -- JUST WHAT HE ASKS!!

Ghana, Africa   CDP   Activities:

We have had very encouraging reports from Pastor Prince Paul Konu, the director of the CDP activities in Ghana.  He reports that they are getting the cassette tapes produced in the  small quantity needed for now.

Pastor Paul notes that they still need added cassette players before they can really move forward.  You can see that the Ghana CDP activities are maturing fast. They have proved themselves trustworthy, vigilant, accountable and aggressive for these ministries.  Their heart is set to reach their own -- we seek to enable them in any way possible.  Perhaps the Lord has laid this mission on your heart -- each cassette player costs about $50.00 there in Ghana.

They now feel they can get established this next month of April 2001  with the first CDP Outpost in Ghana.  Please pray for them and the multitude of  souls that thirst there for the Word of our Living God!

Faithful is he that promised -- and blessed is he that is obedient!
