Outreacher -- PRAY
for HIS LEADING! This has been a very serious and pensive time -- our national perimeters have been savagely violated, yet, although Satan meant it for evil, God has turned it into His Glory and our good -- we are pulling together like never before! PTL!! While we hurt for those that suffer, while we plan with those that seek to put down such terrorist activities world wide, we rejoice that God is indeed on His throne and Satan is being defeated once again. We are reminded that this particular ‘out cropping’ of terrorist activity is emanating from the same ‘operations center’ as the persecution plans that are being implemented all around the world -- particularly in India where we see an ever escalating hatred expressed for any/all Christian activities. There, all of our Village Evangelists (except those in Tamil Nadu State) are being severely beat, churches burned, generally persecuted for preaching Christ and his redemptive plan. More on this in Dr. Jebasingh's report. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * General Dr. C. D. Jebasingh, our Director for CDP REPORTS Subj: Report! Date: 09/10/2001 8:59:02 AM Pacific Daylight Time From: jebasih@giasbm01.vsnl.net.in (jebasih)To: JFord767@aol.com (Jim R Ford) Dear Jim: The past couple of months had been hectic for me, Anant and sometime for Jane traveling and meeting with our constituents. Anant's recruitment is God-sent and I believe in the power of the spirit that our Heavenly Father has done a marvelous thing at His right time to energize my old bones and stimulate my thinking on consolidating and further building up. Please pray for Anant as he seeks HIS WILL to forge new approaches to to forge new approaches to strengthen Rural Evangelism through CDP. He called me yesterday morning to pray for him as he and his friend, who was till recently with a World Vision Rural Project, decided to walk up to the hill, five miles away from his home at Madras and spend two hours in prayer. The reports that I have received from all our supervisors last month shows their faithfulness. Tamil Nadu: The only area where work goes on without any persecution is Tamil Nadu, where Pastor Jeyapaul is the supervisor. He reports that women and children are very much attracted to the CDP cassettes and more responsive. Therefore he has advised his VEs to even go beyond their geographical jurisdictions wherever groups of them could be met. He indicates that provision of cycles will be a great asset. He is preparing for the next baptism service in the month of October. He has asked me for a good supply of Tamil Bibles for the very poor in his congregations, for the newly baptized and for the ones who are waiting for baptism. I am making efforts to meet this need. Jeyapaul is still in the process of raising funds to rebuild the worship huts blown off by the recent monsoon winds at Ravathapatti and Visamangalam fields. He says both of them are the best of his fields for the encouraging results witnessed. CDP work in the Gypsy colonies and refugee (Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka due to ethnic strife there) groups continues to be effective. The recent supply of Cassette players through Lyle Majeska's efforts is bearing much fruit. Gujarath: Film, video and Cassette combination use is the strategy Pastor George Phillip has adopted to succeed in his evangelistic thrust in his area. He held a convention where videos were shown. I was thrilled to receive a cheque from him of one day's free will offering given for GIFTS National Visual Media Evangelism ministries. Mounting opposition has been preventing their holding baptisms of the 12 who accepted Jesus Christ at this convention. Rajasthan: Please pray for our evangelists and the Supervisor, Pastor Yohannan. One of their church structures was torched. Most of our VEs have been receiving threats, consistently. Nevertheless, they are holding the fort without much results. I have asked for details of case stories of healing experienced through the prayer ministry of our VEs. Orissa: Our Supervision, Rev.S.Justin reports dangerous happenings in our fields. Our VEs have been met personally by leaders of fanatic groups and warned that they should stop preaching through cassettes or any means. They are being warned of dire consequences. Our VE Stephen Suna had developed a worship center in the village of Mundapadar. Some members of the R.S.S had disrupted one of the Sunday Services and forced the VE to close down the service. Police protection was sought yet tension prevails in the area. I am awaiting for more details. My note on Orissa situation: Jim! we need to be much in prayer for Orissa. Many other ministries have been reporting acute persecution through beating up Christians, burning churches and forcibly re-converting those who have become Christians, back to Hinduism. It was in this state that the Australian Missionary, Graham Staines and his two children were burned alive. The underdevelopment of this state is phenomenal. News papers are reporting starvation deaths every day for the last one month. There is so much of food stored in the Government warehouses, yet they do not reach the people due to governmental misadministration and negligence. To a certain extent anarchy prevails there . Jeba * * * * * * * * Remember -- always PRAY for Jeba and Anand as they direct the work in India! * * * * * * * * Our M/E International Strategy We are currently moving to implement a new and dynamic strategy -- seeking university and church associations which can help us to plan and implement our very effective Cassette Discipleship Programs (CDP) to all the villages of India and Ghana, Africa. The academic can provide many advantages, both in helping to research the scriptures and secular information, plan the schedules via End-Time Studies as well as utilizing dedicated young students to reach out to the CHURCH as needed. The End-Time Studies area will take a courageous group to tackle it -- understanding that it is somewhat controversial, yet the potential benefits are absolutely mind boggling! The results can provide outreach to all the villages of India and Ghana, Africa; whereas now we have been able to reach out to only about 1.3 Million -- desiring to send the WAVE of Outposts across India, followed by a great surge of BLANKETING all the villages! Indeed we can envision a process here which will both provide a realistic plan as well as an effective way to quicken the CHURCH in its implementation. We are expecting the Lord to have someone or some group meet us at the very point in time and place that He desires. Do you have any contacts that you believe we should know about? Our ministry partners in India and Ghana, Africa are definitely able to move much faster -- to reach out via networking with other groups, effectively providing a vast multiplication factor -- but, at present their funds are limited -- yet, even now doing over half of the funding from their end in India, and Ghana. ============== Dr. Jebasingh Reports I have now some stories from Rajasthan and I am giving them below: 1. Three cases, as reported by VE Pious Joy who is working in the Alwar area: i. Mr.Rakesh Bhai is working as a member of the local Home Guards. His job involves to assist the Police in maintaining Security and Law & Order in his village. As a very honest and straight-forward person, he used to experience depression whenever he could not control the atrocities done by his own relatives in that village. Added to that his father is suffering from a mental disease. Because of this, he could not even marry. As a result he attempted suicide. In this context, our VE invited him to listen to our cassettes. When he heard the story of Jesus, he exclaimed, "I am experiencing peace of mind". Our VE had many sittings with him. As a result, he has accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and is getting ready for baptism. ii. In the same village, there is a bootlegger by name Mr.Chotti Bhai. As a result of our VE's contact with him, he has started attending prayer meetings. He has stopped selling illicit liquor. He is being prepared to take baptism. iii. Presently our VE is counseling, Pintu Bhai and family, Om Prakash and family, and Subash Chandra and this family. 2. The following report of persecution is reported by VE Reji: Mahesh from the village of Shapura took baptism with his two sons last year in October. His wife and two daughters are now getting ready for baptism. Mahesh arranged for the showing of Jesus Film supplying electricity from his house last month. A few fanatics from the adjacent village organized themselves and disturbed the film showing and attacked the family members of Mahesh. They were warned not to encourage any of the Christian worker coming into that village nor they should attend any church anymore. There is so much tension in the village. Mahesh and his family are not able to going out for worship. Please pray for this family 3. I am awaiting to receive stories from Gujarath and Orissa. 4. There will be a Baptism service in TN and Anand will be attending it. Pray for our ministry partners!! Jeba ================================================== |
