Keep This Date – OUTREACH 2005 will be October 24, 2005 – at the Sizzler Restaurant in Fullerton, California. We plan to have Pastor Prince Paul Konu of Ghana, Africa with us. – He is reporting many hundreds of conversions these last few months from the CDP activities, along with a number of churches planted. Whew!! – We are on a ride – amazing how the Lord is opening doors – has prepared the way in so many areas! AND – just in time, meeting critical equipment considerations. Wow indeed!!!

We attended the “Orality Conference” in Anaheim this last week – people and groups from all over the World. We were particularly impressed with two areas:

1) It appears that indeed our Cassette Discipleship Program (CDP) approach, as established by Dr. Jebasingh in/for India, meets the key criteria for good Orality impact (story telling, dialog messaging with music);

2) A digital audio player (“The Ambassador”) was demonstrated and sampled to us which may be our primary device for use by most of the Village Evangelists to be established. Actually, we have started a “prototype” program for its use in Cameroon, Africa – this will probably take a few months to get all infrastructure worked out. More on this soon.

As you know, currently we are committed to the use of audio cassettes – generally almost all nations have the needed support infrastructure. However, we are seeing that The Ambassador unit may well suit our purposes far better. It can be programmed via the Internet to and from the fields of the World for both audio and digital messaging. Uses FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and standard computers and inexpensive converter interface devices to facilitate the loading of the desired messages.
 

If we sound excited, it is because we are – this potentially makes our whole program many times as effective and many times more reliable – no moving parts, very rugged, and self contains all the messages we desire (it easily handles a total Bible). The costs involved are very “competitive” with audio cassette systems – actually much better when durability, reliability and effectiveness are considered. It also has both solar and line powered recharging – as well as inexpensive dual speakers as an attachment for greater outreach. The Ambassador operates for about 14 hours on a full battery charge! Yes – GREAT the way the Lord has prepared the way!

       Also, we are seeing a great spirit of cooperation with some major ‘partners’: 

1)      Gospel Recordings will provide nine 4-minute messages in up to 5700 languages to us, together with great quantity prices on their “Tape Talk” cassette player; -- these are also available almost anywhere in the World for $30.00 each

2)      MegaVoice is making the Ambassador unit available in quantity as well as providing the necessary local interface support for processing annotated audio messages into digital messages for FTP’ing to us and/or our groups overseas.

3)      Our M/E International activities basically stimulate a growth network of National Leadership and Village Evangelists.  A perfect compliment for the assets and resources of the other partners

We are thrilled with the true

“servants heart” attitude which we are mutually experiencing to get the ‘GO YE’ task completed as soon as  possible.

Pastor Paul will be sharing with us at the Outreach Dinner – bringing the challenges of CDP home to us as few can. You will perhaps remember that it was Pastor Paul and his group that the Lord used to prove the six-month growth capability – using on-the-job training of three candidate VEs working with each active VEs to achieve this remarkable growth potential.

Yes, they now have 80 VEs ministering with 240 more trained and ready for equipment – actually, they now have a total of 320 VEs, some ministering without equipment. You know, Pastor Paul also consolidated the true “volunteer” nature of CDP – pointedly pressing for all of the CDP activities to be by volunteers, even as we are here in the USA. It is truly wonderful the way the Lord has provided key leadership and encouragement at just the right times. As it turns out, volunteerism and their being autonomous have been the main ingredients of the CDP which has spurred interest and growth by nationals World wide. VEs Becoming Pastors

 It is always interesting to see many of our Village Evangelists (VEs) become the pastors of churches that they have planted as a result of their CDP ministries – consolidating the local witness into a home church and often later into a building of their own.  This of course is one of our prime goals, to see local fellowships bloom under a pastor. However, this often causes a secondary problem of needing to locate added VEs to take their place in the ongoing village evangelism cycle. A joyous ‘problem’.
