           Dear Outreacher:

As we have often said – our national leaders and Village Evangelists (VEs) are really doing it.-- PTL.

It is interesting to see ‘the World’ at large bankrolling massive funds to fight the HIV/AIDS problem around the world.  This year’s budget is approaching $25-Billion and next years budget is now set at about $50-Billion. They don’t understand that it can only be met and beat by changed hearts.

Of course, changed hearts is a key factor with our Cassette Discipleship Program (CDP) – and, with our holistic concerns for the villagers, we see that the CDP process may be one of the best enemies of HIV/AIDS and other scourges which tend to inundate those tribal areas. Pray for changed hearts – for solid and safe families as well as Holy Spirit led life styles which will be both careful and considerate.

Our Village Evangelists (VEs) have key information, such as the “HIV/AIDS – Understanding and Training” insert below, which gives them information to allow them to be more effective and caring – true and loving ministers of the Gospel, especially to those already infected.  Key to the process is the education of all concerned, letting them know how HIV/AIDS is propagated and that normal contacts (even hugging and kissing) is not considered dangerous.

 HIV/AIDS -- Understanding and Training

 ·         There is a very serious pestilence – a growing plague (out of control – can infect those that are careless) – no one is automatically immune!

 ·         Both HIV and AIDS are incurable once infected – but, can be avoided if not careless.

 ·         Note that normal good relationships are not at risk (such as: shaking hands, kissing, hugging – also, having monogamous sex, where both parties are not infected).

 ·         High risk is primarily from: careless sex, sharing drug needles, and prior-infected pregnancy.

 ·         AVOID INFESTATION BY:

o Encouraging abstinence from sex prior to marriage.

o Maintaining faithful relationships between married couples.

o Not doing drugs – if medically needed, use clean needles.

o Not using blood transfusions unless government approved.

                                o Encouraging caring!

o Caring for the infected ones in love – reaching them for Christ – teaching them to be caring and aware so as to not spread the disease!

NOTE that this is a holistic part of the Cassette Discipleship Program (CDP) where the Gospel, when released to the people, provides  an amazing healing process for all of societies ills!  Yes, in His love we see wonderful changes in people and society.

                                     ------- Finis ------

Back to the CDP “Ranch” – we have seen another measure of growth, where we now have another 35 countries taking part in the CDP process – bringing our total to about 185 countries (one of these is China with 124 Regions covering 700 million rural villagers, plus India, 800 million villagers in some 100 Districts). We are both blessed and humbled when we see how our Lord continues to empower this amazing process throughout the World.

CDP-China is particularly busy, pursuing the master recording of the rest of their 84 languages that have been translated – they still need help with funds to complete about 49 languages (each one takes between $300.00 and $1000.00 to master record). They are terrifically dedicated and are doing a fine job!

Preparations for the CDP Convocation 2006 in September are coming along well, with a major area for prayer being the acquisition of Visas and Passports for the attendees.  Russia, Indonesia, Europe and China yet need assignment of attendees with key information to allow us to facilitate the ticketing for them.

We are waiting on the Lord for His funding for the planned growth of the CDP network – in the meantime, most VEs are in a Phase 1 mode which allows them to be fairly effective even without audio players and bikes. YES, take these matters to our Father-God – reminding Him that the harvesters are rapidly getting in place, but they need tools! Pray too for the VEs – they trend to get discouraged working under such conditions. PRAY.

INDONESIA EARTHQUAKE DISASTER UP DATE

 From Asia/Indonesia Coordinator

6/7/2006

From: CDP-Indonesia

To: CDP767USA

Here are some excerpts from their long letter:

  • Warm greetings from your brethren in Indonesia!
  • We hope that you are always in good health.
  • We are writing to confirm the situation here in Yogya City after the earthquake of 27 May 2006.
  • First of all, we are fine. The church was damaged but everyone is fine (pastor and members) are safe.
  • We thank all friends for all thoughts and prayers that we receive by e-mails, telephone and regular mail.
  • Actually, Yogya is not just a city – it includes a province named Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
  • Bantul District, a nest of several villages, within the DIY and Central Java Province was worst hit. – located about 20-30 km from Yogya City proper.
  • The current situation in Yogya is:

o   Most electrical, water and internet back to near normal the day after.

o   Most business back to near normal – exceptions, large hotels yet being                                                  checked.

o   The number of victims continues to rise, from 2000 the first day to 6000 today.

o   No added quakes after the  first two days.

o   The Merapi Volcano remains very active but not dangerous for Yogya City.

o   Food stuffs and water in the supermarkets are getting back to normal fast.

o   We lost two evangelists who have gone to help their families.

o   Many lost friends and relatives, we also lost some members as the effected                            villages were near and we have been ministering there.

  • Thank you very much indeed.

Always living in the Hollow of His Mighty Hands, were there is peace and joy in times of trial.

 NIGERIA REPORT           =======================================

Dearly beloved,

We give the glory for what He is doing here in Nigeria through CDP programs; we can only say may all glory be to His name.

Below is a report from the supervisor CDP Obubra:

CDP OBUBRA                 CROSS RIVER STATE                         NIGERIA

March 30, 2006

The director,        CDP Nigeria,    Calabar, Cross River State       Nigeria

REPORT FROM OBUBRA MBEMBE LANGUAGE GROUP

We thank God for what He is doing here in Obubra through the CDP program. We also thank you and the sponsors for the additional Bikes and Cassette players and your efforts to see that this program stands and is succeeding in Obubra.

There is a layout plan on ground to organize classes in the Hintakato villages. We discovered that the best way is to use the recorded cassettes and start the classes.

We also take advantage of Mbembe language literacy classes to further our classes.

We are mobilizing the people toward their commitment in the program; we have also zoned the areas into 4 groups: Adun, Okun, Osopong and Ofonbonga clans.

There is also a plan to launch out Jesus film. After launching the Jesus film in Mbembe language, it shall give us the advantage for advancing our project plan in the area.

We therefore need money to motivate the people for the program. We also need more Bikes, cassette payer and Tapes to enable us work effectively. The surprising problems are lack of finances and vehicle or even Motor Bike for faster movement to places of engagement, since Bike cannot go very fast and far.

We are praying and believe that God will soon provide.

             Thank you.

            MARFO ERIM             CDP- OBUBRA

To add to these, we really appreciate your supports, yet we will not fail to ask for more support because we still have a lot to do here in Nigeria. For example, here in Cross River State alone, we have 7 major languages and we are only on one yet, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba, we consider one major language each before going to other smaller groups.

Again the issue of Recordings, Bikes and Cassette Players is a big problem that has hindered us a lot.

We are therefore pleading for more equipments and funds for Recordings. Thanks.

Insights from IndustryDOCUMENTATION / THE PROBLEM

A QUOTE FROM BILL GATES – made at one of  his Summit meetings recently:

“The problem, really, is twofold. The first is information overload. Faced with the endless deluge of data that is generated every second of every day, how can we hope to keep up? And in the struggle to keep up, how can we stay focused on the tasks that are most important and deliver the greatest value” .

JRF note: Looking globally – with attention to that half of the world’s population that has essentially no information – are basically “cave men” – we with our CDP activities provide a viable and caring way to communicate both spiritual truths and holistic information and training. This is done via audio players in a manner that they are comfortable with – story telling via short dialog messages.

With our exponentially growing network of volunteer national leaders and Village Evangelists (VEs) there is now a dedicated cadre of outreach in most of the developing countries of the World.  Right now (June 2006) we have dedicated and committed volunteers leading over 5000 VEs in a 4-to-1 yearly growth process by on-the-job training of three candidate VEs with each active VE.  These 5000 VEs are now reaching out to about 50 million villagers on a regular basis.—they can do better when they are equipped with both audio players and bikes.

Incidentally – the villagers have no idea that they are spreading HIV/AIDS – helping it to grow into pandemic proportions.

But, we know, from many years of experience, that when the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ enters a community, people and society change – they become caring and thoughtful people – and it works equally with mistreated wives and children as it does with disease.  Yes, the whole community is “boot strapped” to wonderful levels – one heart at a time.

Although our prime interest is in the salvation of precious souls, we always find that the “side’ benefits are similarly impressive as hearts are brought into tune with their maker and they have real purpose in life.

The Cassette Discipleship Program and Helps

You can clearly see that the Cassette Discipleship Program (CDP) is making real progress in both outreach to the lost, as well as with holistic helps in meeting the Villager’s general societal problems.

We revel in the opportunity to help the villager meet his/her life threatening diseases – however, we note that diseases are not as serious as the even greater disease of SIN which all villagers (as we) suffer with – and this is to the eternal death if not remedied by the Lord Jesus Christ via their individual salvation!

Yes, death and eternity carry 100% odds – all will die – but by the Grace of God He has made provision for eternal life to all that will take His way out through the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes this is our clarion call – our prime purpose and calling:

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 3:17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

(John 3:18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

It behooves each of us to be sure that we rest safe in the arms of Jesus!

            How to Help!

  • P R A Y – yes, the fervent prayer of righteous men avails much!
  • Talk up the CDP process – its exclusivity to all Nations.
  • The need for equipment for ministering VEs – at $200.00 per VE.
  • Donate for equipment (now need $800,000).
  • Donate for master recording (now need $90,000).
  • Pray for our Continental and country leaders – all volunteers.
  • Pray for all the Village Evangelists (over 5,000 now) – all volunteers.
  • Ask our Father-God for His funding to meet or exceed their needs.

            Waiting on our Father-God

Yes, we find no other course of action that is as productive as “Waiting on HIM”.

In His time, He will touch hearts to do it! – until then, we are proceeding on the course that He has set for us – and for them -- as they in the field are ministering even without equipment.  Many precious souls are being brought to Jesus!

Join us, WAITING in  the Hollow of His mighty Hands.
