Encouraging: Workshop in Rwanda

Our Dr. James Butare, V.P. Outreach, is in East Africa between July 1 and July 31, 2008, God willing. One of the main reasons for this trip is to hold a workshop for pastors and Village Evangelists at Gahini, Rwanda, confirming leadership and commitment to the CDP process in Rwanda.

A few years ago, Dr. Butare put together lessons on Community Development from various writings of member of Wycliffe Bible Translators, who mainly work with un-reached peoples. You can find a few of these papers in the “Secure” area of M/E International’s WEBSITE¨me-intl.org. He became a member of Wycliffe and started teaching in the schools of a sister organization known as SIL in December 1995. He joined the SIL School in Melbourne, Australia and later taught for a short time in Dallas, Texas, USA, where the International Center for those schools is situated. From July 2002 he has been a Professor of Linguistics at the William Carey International University, Pasadena, USA, where he first met Jim Ford (President of M/E International) at the 25^th Anniversary of the US Center for World Mission. Soon opened an Outreach office at the USCWM which was announced on our WEBSITE: me-intl.org.

The purpose of the Workshop in Rwanda is to share with the Pastors/Village Evangelists on how to best apply CDP to their area and use the lessons in their villages. Troy Majeska, our V.P. Audio Engineering, has made preliminary recordings of some of the lessons which we hope to eventually put on the AMBASSADOR Units for Rwanda. Praise God that these lessons and more have been translated in the Rwandan language known as Kinyarwanda

You can make similar translations from the English sources on the WEBSITE: me-intl.org to your heart languages, so that all people in your language community can hear the Good News of the Gospel, as well as how to keep safe from such diseases!

CDP-Liberia Insights

· CDP is all about Christ – we serve HIM, not just Jim or M/E,. We as nationals have the sole responsibility to evangelize our individual nations.

· The coming of M/E International with CDP is God’s blessing to EMPOWER nationals. Yes, God EMPOWERS us through dear ones there in the USA.

· We must understand this and pray for M/E – we all need to hold together – yes, for CDP-Worldwide.

As we are speaking, the Lord has blessed us with 185 new souls’ that are awaiting baptism in Rivercess County

· With the coming of the AMBASSADOR Units, CDP has gone wide in Liberia. A disabled lady from the Kpelleh Tribe heard the AMBASSADOR Unit’s message and came to Christ in Faith. Taking her from despondency to a new desire to live.

· We are praying that the Lord will provide funds needed for all CDP activities on a priority basis.

· Sierra Leon, an adjacent country, needs to start CDP. We will be glad to help get it started – common border

CDP-Kenya Insights

· Sorry, I do not know what happened that caused my message to be shortened. I do not know what cut it off. But it was saying that the way you have blessed us is so much.

· They are saying if it were not for the CDP, they do not know where they could have been. Some have been delivered from witchcraft, alcoholism, wife beating, and many more yokes have been broken in the name of the Lord. All because of CDP.

· The ABASSADOR Units are doing wonders and so I will let you know more.

· OUR MOST PRESSING NEED IS BIKES. AT LEAST WE NEED TEN(10) BIKES TO MAKE OUR WORK MORE EFFECTIVE: THE VEs ARE SAYING THAT. IF GOD ENABLES, PLEASE SEND US THE BIKES. WE COULD HAVE GONE VERY FAR. We need them seriously. ONE BIKE IS ABOUT 100 US DOLLARS. PLEASE HELP US. These are the words of the VEs.

· We need AMBASSADOR Units in these tribes: Maasai, Trukana, Nandi, Luo, Marakwet, and Samburu. It all depends on the availability of funds. God WILL PROVIDE. Shalom and God bless you.
