Dear Outreacher:

A LATE BREAKING BULLETIN:

Pastor Prince Paul Konu, wife and daughter were miraculously spared in a car fire that destroyed his 8-passenger--four-wheel van!  They were on the way to a field appointment, when the van caught fire from a mechanical problem.  They were trapped in the van by the eclectic doors—Pastor Konu was finally able to kick out a widow with his boot,  also freeing a door to allow them to escape. Pastor Konu said it was truly a miracle that they were able to escape the smoke and fire that engulfed the inside of the van so quickly! They lost all extra clothes, belongings and money in the fire.

Four hundred miles into the jungle, they walked about 10 miles to the next mission point arriving about 10:30 pm. Pastor Konu noted that the next day he preached the Gospel and 42 made professions of faith and 65 were baptized. He rejoices over these precious souls that came to Jesus and will be discipled over the coming months!

The next day they walked for over 4-hours in the rain to get to transportation. His wife fell three times and his daughter fell once. They finally arrive home at about 2:30 am. The family is having emotional pains—asks that we please keep them in our prayers!

Pastor Konu had noted that the van had been a most effective tool for all of their ministries—it will be sorely missed.

On a practical note, the van was new to them at a cost of about $8,500. which one of our key donors had provided just a few months ago. There was no insurance, but we hope to be able to replace this van in the near future. In the meantime, we will continue as possible to help Pastor Konu with his field travel requirements every few months!  Pray for their continued protection and affectivity. Always remember that Satan is alive and well out there—doing all he can to impede the remarkable progress that they are experiencing. Yes, include them especially in your regular 6:30 pm prayer for these ministries!

Back to the on-going CDP activities:

As new Cassette Discipleship Program (CDP) entities continue to become a part of the CDP GLOBAL NETWORK, we are very pleased and excited at the national progress. Of particular note are the leaders’ personal call and commitment to both their country and to their neighboring countries.   Hopefully, we adequately express our pride and blessing to our volunteer leaders who have, on their own, left their comfort zone to help reach other millions of precious souls ‘next door’. This effort has often been at fair personal outlay of time and expense!  Some examples of this dedication are shown following:

CDP-Ghana led by Pastor Prince Paul Konu

Pastor Konu has been a major mentor to many CDP country groups, even as they were making incredible 4-to-1 growth in 6-month growth cycles.  They started early in 2001 with their first Outpost of 20 VEs, growing to 80, then 320, and now over 1,650 (July 2009) in their three major languages.

Pastor Konu has had neighboring country TOGO on his heart and has lately helped them start the CDP-Togo group.

CDP-Togo’s requirement is to reach out to about 4-million villagers. Pastor Konu indicates that Togo can use some of the same languages as Ghana. This gives CDP-Togo a ‘running’ start, able to use some of the CDP-Ghana recordings. It is a very good feeling to see our autonomous leaders being creative and sensitive to the Holy Spirit for others, always a blessing to see more of the nations being reached!

CDP-Liberia led by Evan. J. Aaron Wright

Evangelist Wright and his leaders have about 400 VEs ministering in Liberia. Also, he has personally been burdened to extend the CDP process to Sierra Leon.  This he has done very aggressively including placement of key leadership under Pastor Paul Conte as the lead coordinator:

CDP-Sierra Leone under Pastor Conte has initiated their demographic study, which will update our initial estimate to having a village population of about 4 million to reach out to. It is exciting to see these added millions of precious villagers that will soon be under the Gospel with opportunities to come to the Savior! We trust that they too will see a vast harvest as we have seen in Ghana and other areas. Typically, we see 40 percent come to Jesus and nurtured in and through the VEs and related home churches established for their fellowship and discipleship.

CDP-Ivory Coast now led by Bishop Osagiede Godwin

We have nurtured our brother Godwin for several months into the CDP process. Having been recommended to our WEBSITE: me-intl.org, he has aggressively pursued the needed pre-cursors for establishment of a CDP process in Ivory Coast.  With its total population of about 17.6 million, we estimate that their calling is to reach out to about 12 million villagers that are presently ignored and forgotten out in the ‘boonies’.  He already has a good group of leaders to call upon for a steering committee and other important tasks of translation and training, etc.

CDP-Nigeria led by Evangelist Paul O. Mba

Our CDP-Nigeria group has a major local task, with a village population requirement of well over 100 million. This is the largest of all the African countries. Their task is particularly difficult in that the northern area which they have been steadily penetrating is heavily Muslim and very anti-Christian.

Last year they were literally driven out of the northern regions because of radical Muslim activities.  Pray with us that they will be bold and protected as they are even now again moving back into those difficult northern areas, presenting the Gospel message via the CDP process.

CDP-Kenya led by Evan. Joel Atuti

In late 2008, our brother Evangelist Atuti had reported about 550 active VEs , and also that he was burdened for the country of Sudan.  He ended 2008 and most of 2009 to date in Sudan, helping them get started with CDP.

We were somewhat concerned that the Kenya CDP was being marginalized by his being away in Sudan. Actually, his CDP-Kenya team leaders carried on remarkably well and he has now reported that 3,000 VEs are ministering and another 2,500 are in training.  PTL for such dedication and commitment to Jesus--for this outreach to the lost there in Kenya.

It is wonderful also to hear that CDP-Sudan already has 120 VEs ministering, and at least 500 precious souls have already come to Jesus via the CDP process there.

I believe there is real merit in presenting Brother Atuti’s full letter for you to enjoy some of the pressures and blessings he has expressed so well.

Here is Brother Atuti’s full letter: dated 7/13/2009

Dear Brother Jim Ford,

·         Lots of greetings from Kenya. It is long since I last got in touch with you. As I had told you some months ago I was in Sudan. I been in Sudan for the last 7 months and the Lord has done great things. Now I am back in Nairobi.

·         Let me brief you on what is happening here in Kenya before I tell you what the Lord has done in Sudan. The VEs have been working so hard despite some ups and downs. Many of them have no bikes, are not earning the so called monthly salaries, no proper housing, some of them are not able to eat 'good' food but all in all masses are coming to the Lord. As we are talking there are 3000 VEs ministering and 2500 VEs are in training.

·         There has been tremendous working of miracles via the hands and hearts of the VEs. I respect these men of God so much. Although they are all volunteers, sometimes I feel I should encourage them with at least 10 US Dollars but it is not easy to support these very many servants of the Lord. They have really given themselves to the Lord without pay. God is actually meeting their needs in HIS OWN WAY.

·         We are expecting to reach 10,000,000 villagers in a few years if God still keeps us. THIS IS SO CHALLENGING but we are looking unto Him. All of us involved in the CDP activities are volunteers and we only need some few dollars to run the programs. I know God will provide as he has been doing. If for example we get just 5 dollars for each VE, we will have encouraged them in a big way but again it depends on the Creator of Heaven and Earth. The 5500 VEs facing many problems but God is still doing wonders.

·         May I mention about some 550 VEs who have not turned back since the CDP program began in the year 2002.They have stuck with me in all times. They have served come sunshine or rain. I have seen their Sacrifice and up to now they are the pillars of the CDP Kenya. God has been providing for them all  through and they are ready to do much for the Lord. Because of them I kindly request Our Donors and the CDP to support them with only 5 dollars each. This amounts to 2750 Dollars. Please let help the for only this one time.

·           Now about Sudan, Yes the Lord opened a door for the people of Sudan to hear the Gospel. Sudan is a big  country and there are about 99 Languages. Most of these languages have never even seen a Bible. They have never heard of one called Jesus. It is a big door that has opened to Sudan. Most of them speak in  Arabic I was with them and I saw the need of the MegaVoice Units. Reaching 99 languages takes God.

Together with a Sudanese pastor, we were able to start a CDP steering committee and reaching out   started immediately. As we are talking more than 500 Villagers have been reached.

·       Also the seven months I was there is a very big challenge of communication. I was in a place called Nuba  Mountains. There are no phones, no computers no post offices where you can post a letter, there are no services like banks, Western unions, hospitals and even schools. If YOU WANT TO MAKE A CALL FOR EXAMPLE YOU HAVE TO WALK ON FOOT FOR ABOUT 4-5 HOURS TO REACH WHERE THERE IS A NETWORK. THE SAME TO INTERNET. It is for that reason I was not able to communicate with you when I  was there.

·            THERE IS ALOT OF WORK YET TO BE DONE VIA CDP. 99 LANGUAGES ARE WAITING TO BE REACHED IN SUDAN! By God's grace we decided to begin with two languages: The Toro and the Tira languages. I do not know what to do about it. I need your advice and see how we can help Pastor Moses Tutu who I left there to take care of the program.

·            I’m planning to go back there on 5th of August. I am asking if God provides I would go there with some funds to assist in one way or the other. I have already booked my air ticket. Please lets see if there is any available funds of about 600 dollars to go with .I have attached some picture from Sudan. I am standing at  the center. I am forwarding the pictures. Stay blessed.                        Joel

CDP-CHINA

·        China is a special case--largely because of the heavier security problems they face.  This forces us into a minimum communication mode which is difficult at best.

At this reading we can only refer to the last report which indicated the number of  VEs to be 7,500.  However, we anticipate that this could now be at least to 15,000     VEs, where we would believe that ultimately they will need about 70,000 VEs. This would allow their designated 124 regions and 700-Million villagers to be reached— this is based on their demographic study of those out in the ignored and forgotten    areas of rural China.

·        CDP-CHINA is also holistically geared to help solve their heavy HIV/AIDS problem—where the VEs are trained to deal compassionately with those infected ones. They also help educate the villagers so as to minimize the disastrous growth--teaching new levels of concern to help minimize the spread of this deadly disease. As the villages come to Christ, there is both a noted reduction in the spread of the disease as well as a growing concern for others which also relates to a reduction in its spread.

·        Pray for China, they have a huge task, a very big responsibility for those millions of souls!

CDP-INDIA

·        The northern districts of India represent special challenges—just recently we have seen an answer to our prayers for that increasingly Muslim dominated area.

·        A young pastor and his associates are joining us to coordinate CDP in the upper half of India, cooperating with the Galileans in the South-central areas, probably able to use some of the existing language tapes.

·        Pastor Simpson Rebbavarapu is already established with leaders and an excellent prayer and donor base for his activities-–is already using the Ambassador Unit in large quantities—they will also adapt to utilize the CDP concept.

·         We anticipate that implementation of the CDP via Pastor Simpson will move forward rapidly in the near future! Realize that this area arguably represents about 400-Million villagers to be reached.

·        Pray that this will become established and mature rapidly to allow all those millions of precious souls to be reached soon!  YES – THAT ALL MIGHT HEAR!!!
