Dear Outreacher:
Summer is upon us and Hot weather will soon be here. The work of M/E continues to be going strong in many parts of the world especially Africa. Our own Dr, James Butare is presently in Uganda and soon to visit Kenya. His report back to us promises to be most encouraging. Pray that he will travel in safety. On the home front, our President Jim Ford is undergoing medical treatment to keep his body (80+ years old) functioning well. Pray for his speedy recovery.
This edition of the Newsletter is to be a special “THANK YOU”
for the support you have given both in prayer and $$. YOU are the
foundation that keeps our VE’s in the field ministering to their own
people.
Like
the roots of a tree that often go unseen or noticed but keep the trunk
upright and growing. So YOU are to M/E International.
Lyle Majeska – VP-Media * * * * * * * * * * * * * As we at M/E have worked with the village evangelists in the more remote areas of the world we have found that 'preaching' is not the best way to teach God's word. We feel the best way is 'story telling'. After all that is the way Jesus taught. We know them as 'parables'. We also found that using a recorded story on cassette or the ambassador units is not really the best way. It is better if the village evangelist tells the story and that way it isn't a message from some foreigner. So now we are using the ambassador unit more to teach our village evangelists and then they are able to tell the stories to the villagers. The biggest need at the present time is for bicycles.
With a bike the village evangelist can spend a lot more time with the people instead of walking to the villages. We can buy bicycles in most areas we are working in for an average of $100. This is a small price to pay for the increase in time that can be spent teaching the way of salvation to people who have never heard the GOOD NEWS ! There is another need, as the village evangelist leads villagers to the Lord they form small church gatherings, and these groups need a place to meet. A meeting place means a building, or at least a covered area that will keep the rain off. From the desk of Wayne Walton – VP for M/E * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Report from the Audio Desk – Troy Majeska, VP-Audio Engineering We are currently testing out the Next Generation Ambassador from Mega Voice. This is a field programmable unit, meaning that we can do the recording, editing, and programming of the units all at one location at the same time. This will help us to streamline our process and shorten the distribution time. This is progressing well and will greatly add to our effectiveness. My interests in audio are from the multiplier effect. The prayer that I have long held is for the Lord to use me as an effective tool in His hand. When you can work on or support a specific language project, you are impacting more than just one life or even one village. But, perhaps you are reaching thousands to tens of thousands of people in that one specific language group. Our family is doing well, my wife Hong has her green card now and our Baby Mark is 14 months old and very much interested in technical things and wires. Our job and living situation is uncertain after this coming summer. Please join with us in prayer as we seek to go back onto the field or stay State side. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Our Website is always open for you to read past Newsletters and gain other pertinent information: www.me-intl.org Thank you again for your support.
