Dear Partners

LATE NEWS:     PASTOR PRINCE PAUL KONU OF CDP-GHANA was brutally set upon and left for dead by marauding villagers in a western Ghana village where he had been preaching!   His outer wounds have left his right arm and hand very painful. Apparently no broken bones, but the arm was dislocated at the shoulder. He is still spitting up blood when he coughs. He had ‘held his breath;’ successfully convincing them that he was dead! We will get more details soon, but for now, pray that they may be able to stop the internal bleeding soon! We have already had several donors offer hospital support for Paul. Sad to contemplate, but we foresee increased activity of this nature as the Muslim radical factions all over the world are becoming more and more aggressive. Indeed, it costs dearly to be faithful to Jesus! Remember, Jesus said ‘they’ hated him and we can expect them to hate those that stand for Him!
We are reminded that we now have seen one of our VEs killed in the Sudan in 2009, noting that it portended more of the same—now we have seen it strike in Ghana—yet knowing that our God is indeed sovereign and no one can touch His anointed ones without His allowing it! Thank you Jesus for your protection, and staying power, even in the midst of the ‘battle’ and when all we can do is PRAY!!!

The Time is Short

With the unrest in the Northern part of Africa and the radical Muslims gaining more power it seems like we will be having more and more difficulty training and equipping the Village Evangelists in the area.  For it’s certain that if the radical Muslims take control of the area they will put a stop to (or hinder) our training VE’s or equipping them with players, bicycles and other needed equipment.

Remember that we already have had two VE’s murdered, one in Nigeria and one in Sudan – now Pastor Paul Konu has been attacked and badly injured.

We need to pray that we can get as much training and equipment in to these VE’s as possible before the door is slammed shut in our face.

Pastor Prince Paul Konu of CDP-GHANA is chaffing to get back to preaching real soon!! Even so, he has been mentoring Michael Nyarko as his assistant and successor for the ministry in Ghana! Paul plans soon to bring Michael with him to the USA. CDP-GHANA is still ministering to the ignored and forgotten of Ghana, with many hundreds coming to the Lord each month and becoming a viable part of the growing village churches. Yes, PRAY for our Brothers Paul and Michael!
Evangelist Bright Arinaitwe (phonetically: “R N 8 TWAY”) is our new leader for CDP-UGANDA, Africa. He has established a steering committee and is moving forward with the many other steps so necessary to establish the first Outposts of 20 VEs for each of the three major languages to be initially used there. Note that we desire to soon provide them with 60 audio players to facilitate their use in the training mission as the VEs learn by rote and repetition to effectively “story-tell” the Gospel as well as to share their personal testimony. Pray for Bright as he is also developing his “tent making” capability to meet his family needs. His wife just had twin girls this last year! Bright is a talented and trained Video engineer, experienced in developing promotional and training video presentations. We see those talents soon being used in our CDP GLOBAL NETWORK as well.
Evangelist Paul Mba of CDP-NIGERIA has started to bring us up to date, showing that 18 of the 36 states of Nigeria now have 3,557 Village Evangelists—we can expect the remaining 18 States will have similar outreach, but we will have to wait for Brother Paul’s update soon! With Nigeria having the largest population of all the countries of Africa, we are anticipating their growth will indeed mushroom over the ensuing years as the Lord tarries! Pray for both Evangelist Paul Mba and Rev. Friday Ogbuji as they team-direct the work of the CDP process there in Nigeria!

Evangelist Joel Atuti of CDP-KENYA is in process to review the progress of their 10,000 VEs, but they have had a real onslaught of problems which have ranged from VE bicycle accident to personal situations beyond their control. Our Brother Joel has helped start CDP-SUDAN which had about 180 VEs a year ago. We hope to get an update from their Pastor Moses in the near future. The situation in Sudan has been sketchy at best, largely because of Muslim domination of the area. Christians and VEs in particular are fair game for beatings and killings in the name of Allah.  Truly they need to hear of the Love of Jesus and His peace that passes all understanding.  Pray for our leaders, supervisors and VEs that are standing in the gap, seeking to present the Lord Jesus Christ to those that otherwise are ignored and forgotten! Yes, Evangelist Joel Atuti can attest firsthand to the Sudan VE’s death, it happened while he and  the VE were being held captive as discussed earlier above.
CDP-CHINA2 is also being structured and initiated in two languages: with five Tibetan and 15 Mandarin audio players.  These players should have been delivered this last week, allowing VE training to be initiated full swing. A key leader “Bercy” has volunteered and established the needed steering committee dedicated to autonomously structure and operate the CDP Process. We are delighted with the expressed interest and dedication!

Greetings from Troy’s Audio Desk.

There have been lots of developments as of late.  I had the privilege of spending some time with our new partner Bright from Uganda.  We had good discussions on a technical and personal level.  I am impressed with his audio/visual skills and desire to serve the Lord.  We equipped him with some recording tools to advance his work even further, while gaining a professional level of quality.  I look forward to seeing where the Lord leads through this partnership.

I have just arrived back in S.E. Asia with my family and am getting settled in.  My last trip back to the States consisted of some training and meetings.  It is great to be back with my family.  One thing that we have been working on is a pocket size recording unit.  To date this is the simplest, lightest, and cheapest setup we have developed.  Field testing will begin shortly.  It consists of a headset microphone for a good close miked signal, a small handheld recorder that runs off a single AA battery, and a 4 Gb micro SD card, (the size of a finger nail.)  These units can be deployed in very remote areas and used over and over again with little training.   Some prayer requests:  1) that we hear clearly the leading of the Lord in our life for every decision we make.  2) that we are able to get the proper Visa’s to stay long term.

Another Prayer Request:

Some of you are not aware that we have been sending designated gifts to a small church in Tijuana, Mexico by the name of “Dios es mi Refugio”.  It is in a very bad part of town, controlled by several street gangs.  A family lives on the church property to protect the compound.  The local gangs have been trying to disrupt the church services by throwing rocks on the roof and with loud “music”.  Lately, some of the local gang members have started attending the services.  Now they are closing down the disrupters!  Your prayers for this ministry will be greatly appreciated.  A new “problem” has developed  - some of the church services are “standing room only”.  Don’t you wish your church had this “problem”!

What We Believe

 1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God.  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally
existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in his sinless life, in His miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. 4. We believe that for the salvation of lost sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. 7. We believe in the spiritual unity of  believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.  8. We believe that the church comprises all true believers and that the mission of the church, with Christ as its head, is to communicate the Gospel of Christ to all the world.
