foreword

The Return is prepared both as a serious study of prophesy and a novel to attempt to flesh-out these very dramatic truths -- allow them to become more real to us -- if not fully believable, at least creditable -- if not realistic, ponderable.

God's prophesies will come to pass, just when and how are two good questions. The present "seasons" of secular events seem to be playing right into the scriptural truths. Indeed, never before has it been so evident that the "fingers of secular events" are rapidly filling the "gloves of prophesy". Yes, like a hand in a glove!

The present edition was written in 1988 (and 1990 was established as the reference "start" date, due to the overwhelming secular correlations of the End-Time), therefore, the dates used in the Novel portion allowed timely fleshing-out of the prophesies, and cover a period of time just following 1990.

Realizing that Israel's clock won't actually start until the Daily Sacrifice is started (almost 6.7 years before the Church is Raptured -- a yet unknown date), we must be aware that the "1990" date used in the novel is actually whatever date the Daily Sacrifice actually starts -- with all related dates then "bumped" upwards appropriately.

This is certainly in keeping with the actual present "unknowns" of the prophesy dates and the spirit of the Novel, which is careful to allow God to set the key dates as they will become known when compared to secular events and correlated with prophecy's to make known the very significant epochal dates.

The reader should allow himself to become both immersed in the plot and flow of the Novel, but also to become a student of the prophesy -- indeed, "-- a workman that needeth not to be ashamed -- rightly dividing the Word of Truth".

See King David and the Anti-Christ fleshed-out -- intertwined with the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) and modern society in Israel.

The Group, a mix of American Christians and Israelis, provides the vehicle for exploration and testing of the growing (explosive) situation. It is an unbelievable, mind boggling depiction of an early few weeks of the End-Time -- yet, believable in the context of the enormity of the fulfilled prophesies at hand. Join the Group -- feel it with them!!

Chapter 1:       Disaster Below

There was a sharp jolt, followed by about 20 seconds of shaking and rolling of the earth. It was obviously not a major quake, at least not at LAX, but certainly large enough to set Rachel on edge.

I'll bet that got the attention of most everyone awake in the Los Angeles area, she thought.

I'd guess that it's unlikely that any real damage was done. She laughed rather nervously as she recalled her parents' and news paper accounts of these types of `rumblings' being quite typical of many that had been experienced in California the last several years.

She mused that it almost appeared that California's prolific fault line structure actually minimizes the chances of a `Big One' by virtue of the smaller shifting relief's of the total system. None-the-less, these small to medium ones sure do keep everyone `on their toes'.

After the initial shock and roll was through, Rachel settled down to wait for her flight back to Israel, little realizing the high adventure that would be her's over the next week or so.

Rachel was already uneasy, it was always difficult to say goodbye to her family and friends. She had visited from Israel for only three weeks and now must return. Actually, her parents brought her `home' to celebrate her 42nd birthday on March 25th. She mused that 1990 seemed to come awfully fast, but then, her immigration to Israel in 1985 had seemingly signaled time to move at `turbo speed'! Whew, what excitement and challenge. Of course, she thought, the unusual characters' that were making rather regular appearances in Israel the last few months had not decreased that excitement either.

She noted that these `characters' seemed to be multiplying, sort of a `fad' she guessed.

Just as she was thinking about these events, a man and wife had juggled their `carry-ons' to the floor of the waiting room for Flight 820 and sat down somewhat out of breath.

His friendly smile and manner caused Rachel to greet both of them. "Hi, I'm Rachel Weiner, I see you folks survived our latest `shake - rattle - and - roll' exercise."

"Hello, Rachel. We are Harold and Phoebe Monroe, and yes, we did notice a little movement of good ole terra not so firma." Rachel?"

"Are you folks on vacation?", asked Rachel.

"Yes we are, and we are looking forward to vacationing for two weeks in Israel.", replied Harold. "Are you on vacation?

"Yes, actually, I have been here from Israel to celebrate my birthday with my family. It was great to see all my family and friends! It's hard to leave them."

"Do you live in Israel Rachel?"

"Yes, I immigrated there five years ago. It has been great, really amazing."

"Phoebe and I are very interested in Israel. The way God has drawn you all there, and protects and keeps Israel is truly amazing. Actually He has promised that, so I don't know why we find it so amazing, -- really we shouldn't."

"Mr. Monroe --"

"Harold, please Rachel."

"Ok, -- Harold, why do you have such an interest in Israel?"

"Well, as a young man, almost 40-years ago now, the Lord peaked my interest in His Holy Word, especially in prophesy, -- and of course, Israel is at the very heart of that subject."

At that moment, a young lady settled in the seat on the other side of Rachel -- with a great sigh of relief! She spoke towards Rachel: "It seems to take more time and energies in the airport than for the flight!"

Rachel turned to her, "You're right, it is exasperating. But then, it does give us some time to meet some nice people. Oh, by the way, I'm Rachel Weiner, and these are new friends of mine, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe -- Harold and Phoebe."

"I'm Betsy -- Betsy Lake. It's nice to meet all of you too, Rachel. Traveling by myself isn't my favorite thing, but I just had to visit Israel, so --."

"Betsy", Harold said, "you're going to Israel too, great! Perhaps we can all help each other to make our trips more enjoyable. It is good to have friends to share with. How long will you be in Israel?"

"My return flight is for May 15th, but with the unrest there, who knows.", replied Betsy.

There was a brief pause, apparently everyone slipped into `neutral' -- just absorbing the ambiance.

Betsy broke the silence, "I have looked forward to this trip for years, actually, before I was divorced nine years ago." This statement triggered old memories and brought a muffled sob from Betsy, as tears welled in her eyes.

"I'm sorry", Betsy said, "you'd think by now I'd have this situation under control --- ".

Phoebe picked up on Betsy's situation, feeling her's was really a painful cry for help. "Remember, Betsy, you're bound to have a good time on this trip. You have already added to our enjoyment. It is special to have friends to share with! We certainly look forward to becoming really good friends with you!!"

"Thanks so much, Phoebe, it is wonderful to have friends, -- to be included. I do hope that our paths will continue to cross. Oh, would you watch my bag? I'd better powder my nose." With that Betsy was off at a quick gait, but she didn't get far. She ran right into a young couple wrestling with their hand luggage. She excused herself and continued on her way, quickly disappearing `out of sight' in the waiting room.

The young couple was a bit upset; Harold moved to help them get settled right across from Rachel. They were flustered, but introduced themselves: "We are Sam and Sadie Cohen. Thanks so much for your help!"

"I'm Harold Monroe, this is my wife Phoebe, this is Rachel Weiner, and you just `met' Betsy Lake -- she was the `hurricane' that just flew past you, ha! You weren't hurt, were you?"

"No, we're fine, -- aren't we, Sadie?" "Yes, I'm fine, Sam!" Sam was obviously `babying' Sadie -- like with kid gloves -- she blushed, "I'm two months pregnant and Sam is really being way over-protective of me."

"That's nice," Phoebe noted, "this is a special time for both of you."

Harold interjected, "We and Rachel (as well as Betsy) are all on our way to Israel."

"We are too", said Sam, "that's great!"

Sadie elaborated a bit, "We are visiting with the hope of later immigrating to live there."

Harold asked, "What do you plan to do in Israel?"

"We'll probably be involved in our family's business, we are both graduates in marketing. The main product line is the import/export of high tech computer subassemblies to/from the USA."

"That sounds great", Rachel chimed in, "we need all the technology we can get. It is changing so fast, we need the latest all the time. Your joint efforts will no doubt help tremendously!" Sam and Sadie both nodded this to be their desire.

It was just 7:30 a.m., one hour before Flight 820 was to leave LAX. Betsy (the hurricane) returned to her seat. Rachel introduced Betsy to Sam and Sadie Cohen, excitedly exclaiming over their plans to later immigrate to Israel -- noting that they really would not miss the regular `shaking' we were all experiencing lately.

The exuberance of these friendly introductions and the related camaraderie caused a man passing by to pause, -- leading our local public-relations man (Mr. Monroe) to smile and offer a seat to a rather casual yet astute appearing gentleman. He was a bit reluctant, giving the appearance of being on the shy side; but, for some strange reason he was drawn to this group. He sat down beside the Monroes.

"I'm Harold Monroe, this is my wife Phoebe. The rest of our little `group' here is Rachel Weiner, Sam and Sadie Cohen, and Betsy Lake. We are all pleased that you decided to join us."

"Thanks so much. I'm Jacob Levi, returning to Israel after a very trying month here in the USA setting up meetings for several of our Cabinet Members. They have been speaking at fund raisers in New York and Los Angeles. My job is done here, so I'm returning home."

"Fund raising," -- said Sam, "That smacks of official Israeli business. Are you a member of Israel's government, Mr. Levi?"

"Yes, one of my duties in the Knesset -- that's our `parliament' -- is serving as a deputy for public relations."

"That", said Harold, "is a very interesting and exciting position you have, Mr. Levi."

"Please, all of you, call me Jacob!"

Rachel seized the following moment of quiet as an opportunity to discuss some of the important situations she had seen, some of the `crazies', etc.

After reviewing her `sightings' she asked the `group' to provide their inputs.

Amazingly, Jacob volunteered: "About five weeks ago, just before leaving for the USA, I personally saw one of those `crazies', and it has caused me to do a lot of soul-searching." "Actually," Jacob said, "as a practicing orthodox Jew and Cabinet Member, I am in a unique position to sort out truth from dross. We are attempting to rid the streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv of such `characters'. It seems we have some kind of an epidemic going, hard to say where it is going, when it will get back to normal. Although, I suppose you could say that they have provided a bit of `comic relief' to our normal high-tension terrorist backdrop."

As Jacob settled into his seat he looked at his watch, noting it was just 8 a.m. He groused a bit about needing a cup of coffee.

Only a few minutes later, Jacob called out to the `group': "only about 10-minutes until first call to boarding". This, showing a side of himself that few saw, really, a glimpse of his personal charm for just being himself and friendly. This of course was directly in opposition to his impressive Cabinet Member and public relations position, although certainly a key factor in his successful dealings with people. The press `loves' this fellow, he is always innovative and has a very winsome manner. Apparently they see that he is indeed a real person.

Rachel whispered to Harold and Phoebe, "This has developed into a very interesting `group'."

Jacob's somewhat boisterous outburst caught a passing young fellow a little off guard. He choked on his coffee, this setting him into a bit of a coughing siege.

To the rescue, Mr. Monroe was at his side, pounding him on the back, helping him raise his left arm high over his head -- and it worked!! The coughing quickly subsided.

"Wow, thanks! I'm Bob Parker, appreciate your help, -- thought I was going to swallow my Adams Apple!"

"Glad to help you Bob, I'm Harold Monroe, this is my wife Phoebe, and your tormentor here is his eminence Mr. Jacob Levi esquire. The rest of our little group are the Cohens, Sam and Sadie, Rachel Weiner, and Betsy Lake."

"It's nice to meet you all," Bob said, "hope my little coughing fit didn't upset you too much."

Jacob shook hands with Bob, apologizing for his nerve racking outburst.

"It's ok," Bob assured him, "I'm glad for it since it has allowed me to meet this nice group of people."

Rachel again piped into the conversation. "Hey, I want to get back to our earlier conversation about Israel with Harold and Phoebe. I'm particularly fascinated by the thought that scriptural prophesies seem to be pointing to our present situation. In particular, it would seem that even a number of the `characters' and events that Jacob and I have seen may somehow be important."

Betsy interrupted, "What do you mean, Rachel -- do you feel these things have a logical explanation?"

"Logical? Probably not. But is God necessarily logical from our standpoint? Mr. Monroe, Harold, can you help us make sense out of some of this?" asked Rachel.

Harold thought for a moment, then noted: "Rachel, your statement certainly fits my own understanding. Indeed, God's thoughts and ways are far above those of man!" He continued, "I should note that my own understanding of God's Word has drastically changed just over this last decade or so."

Bob interjected, "The Bible seems to be very complex and difficult."

"Yes," said Harold, "it takes real effort, a real dedication to study. In particular, it takes a desire to know God's plan. In fact, my understanding of the End Time events has indicated to me that we are really in a new ball game!!"

"What do you mean, `ball game'?" inquired Sam, "hasn't God's Word been the same? Or, have there been additions to it?"

"No, Sam", Mr. Monroe continued, "there have been no additions, at least not since the completion of the New Testament, just increased and renewed understanding."

Sadie asked, "Mr. Monroe, please explain further."

"Well, Sadie", Mr. Monroe continued, "as a Christian I have seen the blessings that God has brought to us all by way of the Jew, and as I accepted God's plan for my life I found that the old scriptures have a very special place in the economy of the End Time, -- actually in every aspect of life. I mentioned that the prophets Ezekiel and Daniel both hold special places in my understanding of the scriptures -- really, they are pivotal to all the End Time events. Several of you are Jewish, and I trust you are anxiously looking for your Messiah. We as Christians believe that your Messiah is ours too, and that He will return soon."

Jacob indicated, probably as a diversionary move, "It is almost time to board the plane."

"Mr. Monroe", Sam asked, "please clarify how the prophets Ezekiel and Daniel could possibly relate to today!"

"Sam", Mr. Monroe said, "that is a good question and I hope we will have an opportunity to discuss it further. Perhaps on the plane."

Rachel was chaffing at the bit, -- she still didn't have her answer.

They all, including Jacob rather reluctantly, indicated they would like to finish this conversation. Perhaps their `group' could get together on the plane.

Rachel was enthusiastic for this. " I'll see that everyone knows where and when," she said.

Just then the loud-speaker blasted out the call for Flight 820 passengers to board the plane. There was the usual scurry to get bags and coats together -- and a general surge towards the gate.

The `group' moved almost as a unit, seemingly regretting that their bonding process was somehow being stressed -- but indeed it was being stretched, not broken. Even Bob Parker, the latest `member' was enthusiastic for that. The spell of this unique `group' had seemingly been cast irrevocably on him as well.

Rachel purposely strolled close to Harold and Phoebe. She hoped to have a chance for another question, perhaps while they waited in the boarding line.

Harold and Phoebe were delighted that they had been blessed with this special `group' of interesting people. A very special group to fellowship with, to discuss with, to share with, to learn from. Harold expressed this to Rachel, and she indicated that was exactly how she felt too!! "Isn't it great," she squealed in delight!

As they continued slowly down the enclosed ramp towards the plane, they were beginning to get jammed together, hardly moving. Rachel took special care to stick close to the Monroe's.

"Harold", she said, "how do you feel that the prophets' writings effect us today?"

"Well, Rachel, God gave important End Time information to the Prophet Daniel. Then, God sealed up that information until later, much later. Have you read The prophet Ezekiel's writings lately, Rachel?"

"No, I haven't, guess I should, huh?"

"Yes", said Harold, "I think that's a good idea, very important!"

"An overview, Rachel, would go something like this: the Prophet Daniel spoke of the Abomination of Desolation being at the center of a 7-year period of time which is called the 70th week of Daniel (a week of years), this period is to be initiated by something called the Daily Sacrifice, actually, when it is being `taken away'. Also, this Daily Sacrifice is to start about 1010 days before this order to take it away."

"The plot thickens," Harold said,-- as he was now standing still, waiting for the congestion to clear, "because The Prophet Daniel leaves us hanging there -- one is plagued with the question, What is the Daily Sacrifice? Actually, I literally spent over six years searching the scriptures for this answer -- God's Word just didn't cover it -- I thought. Wrong! Actually it did -- it does -- but one must have `the key'. Without this key it is impossible to see these truths. Shortly after I was shown `the key' it became quite apparent that The prophet Ezekiel actually had the pre-cursor information. God had pre-set this information, with part of the prophet Ezekiel's information ending with the start of the Daily Sacrifice. With this, the `puzzle parts' fit together like a hand in a tight glove -- the `baton' now can pass to The Prophet Daniel -- clearly delineating The End Time infra-structure."

Harold can see that there are a number of questions. Rachel's face seemed to mirror this fact. "Let me hurry on with the story", he said. "A most important part for Israel is even now on the very horizon, for the lead-in from The prophet Ezekiel relates to the start of the Daily Sacrifice by the Prince of Israel."

At that moment, really without knowing it, since they had been so engrossed in conversation, the Monroe's and Rachel were at the door of the plane -- the stewardess was asking for their boarding passes.

"I'll see you as soon as we get airborne", Rachel said.

"Phoebe and I will look for you, Rachel!"

The `group' was not only entering the plane, but, without their realizing it they were entering upon an adventure so amazing, actually mind boggling, never before encountered by man.

Chapter 2:    Attention!!! Attention!!!

Seating locations for the group are interesting, with Rachel seated beside Jacob Levi in the forward part of the tourist section, left side, window seat -- Sam and Sadie Cohen are just two rows behind the Monroe's at the center of the plane (just behind the right wing) and Betsy and Bob are just across from each other (one row removed) in the rear left hand section of the plane. Betsy had mumbled her dissatisfaction to the new non-smoking ruling for all international flights. Secretly Bob had been thankful for it, but didn't bring it up to Betsy -- he didn't want to alienate her right off the bat!

On the plane now, there was general confusion in finding seats, getting carry-ons in the overhead and under seats. The plane was right on time -- many had noted that the government's pressure and posting of departure time for the last several years had been fairly effective to get all carriers nearer to on-time situations. Now they were taxiing into position behind several other `wide bodies' in preparation for take-off. Almost immediately Flight 820 was cleared for take-off -- actually only had to wait about 3-minutes. Then there was that very authoritative surge of power which always amazed Harold.

Rachel never really got used to flying -- she always said that take-offs and landings are `white knuckle time'. This was no exception. She was quite nervous, but subconsciously she was still hearing and reviewing the amazing things that Mr. Monroe had been telling her. Oh -- now they were airborne and the nose of the 747 was pointed straight up -- well, it seemed that way to Rachel!

Just before reaching cruising altitude, the Captain came on the intercom to let them know it was ok to get out of their seats, but recommended loosely fastening seat belts when seated -- also, that a light continental breakfast would be served shortly.

Interestingly, Rachel and Jacob had been discussing the group -- how nice it had been to meet -- they all felt very much at ease with one another. She had also brought him up to date per her conversations with Harold on the way to the plane. He, of course, was interested, but skeptical -- not too bashful about saying so. He mumbled something to the effect that: "the scriptures are ok for life and it's problems, but its crazy to lean too hard on them for `prophesy' -- ooowww!!!"

"ATTENTION!!! -- ATTENTION!!!" -- the Captain came on the public address very authoritatively -- it had only been about two-minutes since he had turned off the seat-belt sign --

The Captain continued, " -- May I have your attention. We have just received a sketchy news report that a strong earthquake struck the area of Hoover Dam at 8:31 a.m.; the Dam has a major rupture, is releasing the water of Lake Meade -- initial reports project thousands will be killed. The wave of water is reported at over 100 feet high, carrying houses, trees, boats, animals and people."

"Folks, the wave is progressing down the Colorado River basin (more or less) -- it will take many hours to dissipate itself, and the water level will be very high for many days and perhaps weeks. We will get back to you as we have added information."

Everyone was visibly shaken -- the impact was growing. Most on board had relatives or friends in the greater LA basin.

Ten minutes later, the Captain came on again " -- Ladies and Gentlemen, we have just realized that we will fly right over the epicenter area in about 28 minutes, although we may not be able to see much from 33,000 feet. All flights have been ordered to hold strictly to designated flight plans and altitudes -- without exception! Those that have telephoto lenses on your camera may be able to get some exceptional pictures -- we will try to give you adequate advance time to get set."

There was a pause -- the Captain came back on " -- I just received added word that the noted deaths may be only a drop in the bucket, since it is projected that hundreds of thousands may die in the LA basin from water and food shortages over the next few weeks. Electricity and water supplies have been drastically reduced. Backup power may be inadequate -- the basin will have to operate on about 30 to 40% of normal power and water at best! Scientists at Cal Tech say the initial quake magnitude was 7.9 -- very large and at a critical location."

Rachel finished her breakfast quickly. She wanted to talk to Mr. Monroe. She made her way to the Monroe's -- finding them in deep conversation about the earthquake and the related flood progressing down the Colorado River, as they too finished their food.

"Oh, hello Rachel, -- terrible about Hoover Dam. We were just considering and praying for some of our dear friends that live right in the line of that wave going down the Colorado. It'll probably take other flood control dams out too. Terrible -- apparently only the `tip of the iceberg' though".

Rachel commented to Harold, "This certainly seems to fit the pattern that you described earlier -- increased quakes -- last year 14 at or over Richter 6.0, going for 50 or so this year. This one today will certainly get everyone's attention."

"Ummmm", Harold moaned.

"Mr. Monroe", Rachel falteringly ventured, "does this all really fit somehow into the End Time situation?"

Just then Jacob Levi and Betsy appeared at Rachel's elbow -- big question marks all over their faces. They had heard Rachel's last few words and asked also for clarification -- what does all this mean?

It was almost impossible to talk at their seats so Mr. Monroe suggested "Let's all go and stand in the open area back by the galley -- the stewardesses seem to be clear of that area now". That turned out good, they were able to talk and be heard much better.

Rachel was anxious to hear what Mr. Monroe had to say about the recent developments, asking questions seemingly in bunches, " -- did the earthquake fit -- how does this all effect Israel??"

"Whoa Rachel", Mr. Monroe said, " -- take a breath!! You've asked at least two big questions -- each is complicated at best. First, -- yes, every `societal' earthquake of Richter 6.0 or greater is significant to me. Since 1975 the projection of such quake quantities has been growing essentially exponentially -- approximately every three years to a new peak value at least 50% larger than the last peak value. Remember, I told you that 1986 had reached 25 per year, and last year there were 14 as Rachel had noted just a few minutes ago. We can expect this to go to about 50 this year or next. Remember, these numbers say nothing explicitly about deaths or damage, only implicitly shout such probability. Today's may well prove the worst ever for total lives lost due to an earthquake -- even though the worst will probably be the result of delayed or later starvation and thirst."

"How about Israel?" Rachel interrupted.

"Related to Israel, Rachel, -- my studies of God's Word have lately (last few years) pointed up that some very great (probably fantastic or `crazy' to some) situations will probably happen soon. I must say, `probably', since God is very creative and I only know in part -- but it will be just as He said!"

"Bless your heart, Rachel, you live in Israel. You have told us (and Jacob confirmed it rather vividly) that you have seen and others report `sightings' of `crazies', etc. Maybe! Maybe not! -- crazies that is!!"

With that remark, Harold asked that he be allowed to `fall back and re-group'. "You know", he said, "I told you that God told The Prophet Daniel key End Time events related to The Abomination of Desolation happening. Very specifically so. Well, that He did, and He further told The Prophet Daniel that this was all sealed up until much later -- there would be increased knowledge. Jesus clarified this and noted that earthquakes were also a key part of the End Time scene."

"Well sir, and 'mam', -- if you chase this all down, you find that it leads (backwards) from Daniel to Ezekiel to the resurrection of the whole house of Israel, with David as her King for a while, and then to be Israel's Prince forever."

"The whole house of Israel, Rachel -- can you imagine? I really can't! But then, perhaps if some leadership with knowledge of this were to come on the scene to prepare the land and people to accept the whole house of Israel (30 or 40 million perhaps) -- what would it look like? -- Crazies?!! Yes, I dare say!! Weirdo's, for sure!!"

They were all talking at once -- finally, Jacob prevailed. "Mr. Monroe, if this is a pattern -- if there is a plan, -- and you note I say if -- where is it leading ultimately?"

"Ultimately, Jacob, -- to the Return of Messiah to rule and reign here on earth for 1,000 years -- after which ETERNITY will start. There will be a new heaven and a new earth -- the old will be destroyed by fire!"

"More to the point right now, Jacob", said Mr. Monroe, "is the question of how to deal with King David, The prophet Ezekiel, The Prophet Daniel, Moses, The Prophet Samuel, and many, many more (like 30 to 40 millions of the 12 tribes). Just how will your Knesset handle such intrusion? That is really the immediate question."

"What an opportunity is ours, on this trip to Israel to `objectively' as possible evaluate the situation. Keep in mind that today's earthquake, and many more to come, will probably serve to mask what is happening there in Israel. As more and more quakes occur, there will be less and less power, electricity and gasoline, etc. Probably, planes and cars will be idled -- travel will decrease to only that which is essential -- eventually to nil. Wars will cease, -- except by sword and shield, etc. Can you imagine the frustration of world power leadership? -- will there be a lot of concern about Israel then? -- probably not!"

Jacob was getting more and more uneasy --- this, he thought, is idiotic -- can't be! Yet, in all honesty, there have been several `points on the curve' that seem to add up. Certainly his people, the orthodox Jews at least, are looking for the Messiah, -- are expecting Him to come to lead them. Sure raises some questions; how would the Messiah be received? -- what pre-cursor might there be? Interesting thoughts.

His ‘reverie' was broken by the Captain speaking.

"This is Captain Tootlidge again, -- we will be over Hoover Dam in five minutes. It will be on our left. Latest reports predict that the death toll down there is almost double the earlier prediction -- and near panic is sweeping the LA basin as severe shortages of water and food are expected."

With this, the `group' quickly headed for their seats to be ready to see the situation at Hoover Dam, wanting to `see', yet, not really wanting to believe that such a catastrophe could have happened -- be happening!!

From her window seat, on the left of the plane, Rachel was straining to see the dam -- .

"This is your Captain -- the remains of Hoover Dam are clearly in view, coming up on our left, now at about 11 o'clock to us (off our nose) -- also, we can actually see the wave as it is rushing down the Colorado on our right. We understand it has literally buried Willow Beach and a large number of other small towns as it is speeding towards Lake Mojave area. The wave should dissipate a bit before that, but very high waters are expected at Lake Mojave about 9:30 a.m. (that is in about 30 minutes from now). Lake Meade is essentially dumping completely out of control, -- estimates now indicate it will flow for weeks -- all downstream areas clear to Mexico will be effected."

Rachel had seen this view on two other occasions -- but not like this. The dam was literally crumpled and broken -- massive pieces missing. The normal river was a narrow line -- often silvery from reflected sun light, but now, it was very wide -- reaching high ground never reached before -- clearing out roads, trees, homes, etc.

Sam and Sadie, on the right side of the plane, could plainly see the frontal wave as it sped down the river bed, really only slightly guided by the original river bed. Sadie commented that it really looked like a rather gentle even peaceful thing from here.

In just a few seconds Flight 820 had left this dramatic scene behind it --

"This is your Captain again -- we can be thankful that we are well above that disastrous situation. We should all be praying for those that have been impacted and those that yet will be effected. It is expected that it will take up to five years to put the dam back in service -- the LA basin can ill afford it's loss. This can potentially shut down LA as a city. Also, most of the other cities of that basin will be similarly impacted. Only time will tell the full toll -- depends heavily upon emergency supplies and power that can be made available. Remember, this LA basin has a minimum of nuclear and other alternate sources of power -- and, essentially all water is electrically pumped into the area. We will bring you updates from time to time."

"Those of you who have loved ones in the area of the earthquake, contact one of our flight attendants and we will make every effort to get your calls through for you. If you need to make changes in your travel plans, they will be glad to help with those."

"Our planned arrival at Kennedy in New York is still 5:10 P.M.."

Sam and Sadie Cohen were just sitting close, discussing the events of the day -- they could scarcely believe the excitement they were feeling. Perhaps this seemed rather hyper because they were already fairly high related to their anticipated move to Israel soon.

"Sam, Sadie whispered " -- I'm really concerned that all of these `disassociated' things -- here and in Israel -- seem to have a significant relationship."

"Yeah", said Sam, " -- it is kind of weird the way it all seems to mesh together. Mr. Monroe certainly seems to have a handle on most of it. It's interesting, though, that he himself is really not 100% sure -- he gives God full opportunity to be God."

"I like that", said Sadie, "yet, he bothers me -- I guess it's just too literal for my blood!"

Sam interjected, " -- time will tell, honey -- we certainly will be more alert, right?!"

"Sam, when we get to New York, we'll have about two hours -- can we take a walk? -- I'm getting very restless just sitting here."

"Sure thing, honey, but why don't we go visit Rachel or someone, -- we don't need to just sit here."

"Let's go, Sam", was Sadie's immediate response.

On the way to see Rachel, they ran head on into Bob Parker -- they hadn't seen him since LAX. "Bob -- where have you been hiding?", asked Sam.

"Right here `in plain' view", Bob snorted , "pardon the intended pun".

"I need a little lightening of pressures -- it has been rather hectic -- a lot of things happening. Isn't that earthquake something?!! I tried to reach home and couldn't get through. Have to try again when we get to New York."

"Sorry you couldn't get through, trust all is ok at your home", Sadie replied. "It is frightening, really scary the way all these things seem to be fitting together,-- almost like there is a master plan of some kind."

"Plan ??" Bob said, "-- where did you get such an idea?"

"Mr. Monroe has shown us that things happening in Israel are probably paced by increased earthquakes (actually earthquake rate)."

"Oh yeah! -- mow I remember hearing something like that while we were at LAX. Do you really feel there is something to it?"

Sam spoke up, "-- well Bob -- there does seem to be some correlation, but we are all going to keep our senses open and as objective as possible. It'll be very interesting when we get to Israel -- perhaps we will have some opportunities to check into this. I hope so!"

"Umm", said Bob, "-- sounds too much, but certainly can't hurt to wait and see. You know, Sam and Sadie, I'm sort of a practical agnostic -- don't really know -- but being raised in The Church (Roman Catholic, that is), I still have some `ancient' things that poke their head into my sub-conscience every once in awhile."

"Yeah", said Sam, "-- we are a little that way ourselves, although from a Jewish heritage perspective -- we have difficulties with much of the orthodoxy that we see -- we prefer a more modern conservative position."

"But", Bob inserted, "-- you apparently go along pretty well with Mr. Monroe's position."

"Yes", Sadie was quick to say, "we are quite taken with a lot this former farmer and student of God's Word has to say. He doesn't pull any punches -- he talks to us, not down on us -- he is honest and quick to let you know where his shortcomings are --

and willing to show you why he believes the way he does."

"All the same", Sam interjected, "he is quite firm about what the Word of God says and what it says to him."

"Bob", Sam said, "looks like the movie is starting, we should return to our seats to get out of the way of others; but, we will look forward to seeing you in Israel -- by the way, here is my card -- if you like you can contact us there through our family."

"Thanks Sam, I'll try to do just that", Bob said, as they all headed for their respective seats.

"The group was apparently exhausted -- they all took advantage of the movie-time for naps. At the conclusion of the film there was just time to get to the rest room before the Captain put on the `fasten seat belt' sign in preparation for landing. They were about 30 minutes out of Kennedy -- it was 4:40 P.M. right on time.

Just before final approach, the Captain came on the intercom. "Attention please", he said, "-- just before landing I want to give you an update and some instructions. The frontal wave did dissipate itself getting to Lake Mojave, but the water level is still five feet above flood state -- and expected to stay that way for perhaps 3 or 4 weeks, while Lake Meade empties itself and `normal' Colorado River flow is reestablished. The death toll is at 7,600 and increasing every hour, expected to exceed 10,000. LA is being placed under martial law in an attempt to establish reasonable rationing of water, food, gasoline and electricity. That's it for now folks -- see you on the ground in about 15-minutes."

Chapter 3:   Kennedy Air Terminal

On the ground, the `group' gravitated together -- it was almost funny, thought Rachel, -- like steel drawn to magnets. Yet, here they were, as if awaiting muster. They hadn't lost a person! However, they mutually decided to take time out to call their people in the LA area, just to make sure all is ok. After the calls they would meet over at the waiting room for Pan Am Flight #1140.

On regrouping, Betsy and Bob each reluctantly told the `group' that they must change their plans and return home. The others had determined that there was no immediate problem, nothing they could do about it anyway -- better to go on with the trip.

Betsy and Bob both had to get their bags and return flight arrangements firmed. Farewells were quickly said and they took off on a dead run -- `hurricane' Betsy leading the way. The remaining group knew they would miss her spontaneity for sure.

All had sensed a nervousness in the people they contacted at home -- but that was to be expected. The President, Governor, and all county and city officials were meeting to determine the best courses of action. It is obvious that this is a very serious situation.

After the near tearful farewells to Betsy and Bob, the group settled down to wait for their flight to be called. While waiting, an announcement displayed on the Radio-News Screen indicated that after shocks of the Hoover Dam quake were occurring fairly regularly -- the largest being at 6.1 Richter! This was followed by a rather terse statement that another shake had rocked Tokyo, Japan -- at 5.8 Richter. Fifty were killed as a suburb of Tokyo was hardest hit.

Rachel squealed, not from delight -- rather from nervousness, "This is getting more and more amazing -- and as I see it, we are heading for the very heart of the action. Such expectations!", she said. As she said that, it struck her funny. "Sadie is not the only one expecting!!", she said, "now, that is a near-sick joke, actually, a Near-weimer one! ha!"

Sam interjected, "Rachel, your nervousness is really showing itself -- perhaps covering the situation with a bit of comic relief though."

"Yes", said Mr. Monroe, "-- sometimes a good laugh can be very good `medicine' -- covers a lot of problems."

"Mr. Monroe", said Rachel, "-- would you please tell us why you feel these things are happening now and where do you see it taking us."

"Rachel, -- one thing for sure, the Lord has given you an insatiable appetite for facts and truth. Good! Keep asking Him to tell you! -- He will!!"

Harold continued, "-- it is difficult to see these things clearly, Rachel, -- they interlace old testament scriptures and people with today's people and places, -- projecting it all to fulfill the future (prophetic) events. As if that isn't enough, we are allowed only an `as through a glass darkly' view of them, somewhat masking God's Word being applied to our hearts. But, -- I believe that all will clear up (ever so gradually, perhaps) -- as time takes us into and through these important events."

"It is always valuable", Harold said, "to step back and look at the overview -- as if you are looking from God's perspective, if possible -- looking at the big picture."

"God is `driving' towards a goal He has in mind --- fellowship with kindred people. People that are made up of true Israel, and true Christians. We can be sure of this because even the Old Testament Scriptures state this to be a fact -- it is further clarified in the New Testament Scriptures."

"God has given mankind six days (each day a 1,000 year period) -- He will have His one day (a thousand year) reign over and with man -- leading to Eternity future in the new heaven and new earth."

"That's a really condensed version, Rachel, perhaps we can add some details as time goes on."

Just then flight #1040 was called. It was just 7:15 pm (the flight was a little late). The remaining members of the `group' picked up their belongings and moved, rather methodically, towards the loading ramps.

The remaining flight to Israel was almost anti-climatic, -- mostly taken up with eating and sleeping as the flight droned ever deeper into the night. They stopped briefly in Frankfurt, Athens and Rome the next day, arriving in Tel Aviv just at sun-down. This was the evening of Day 2, -- April 2nd, '1990'.

Upon arriving, the group made arrangements to meet the next day -- letting everyone get settled a bit.

Chapter 4:     In Israel

Rachel had slept well -- it was good to be back in her own bed! She was rested, yet had awakened early, thinking about her introduction to Israel -- how her life had changed. She had first visited Israel in 1983 -- had seen the `peace keeping' activities going on in Lebanon. Later, she had immigrated to Israel. In 1985, she remembered that there was an obvious sense of relief by most in Israel when their forces had been withdrawn from Beruit. Some say that a part of south Lebanon is required by Israel -- whatever that means! Of course, there were always retaliative sorties into Lebanon -- just enough to keep everyone off balance it would seem.

With these problems, there were undertones of expectation -- she had even heard of plans to administer the land and affairs of Israel in accordance with the prophesies of the Prophet Ezekiel and Daniel. There have also been rumors that all of Israel is to be brought back to the land -- with key leaders already said to be in Israel to initiate God's End Time plan.

Rachel mused on this last thought, -- she had even seen (let's see -- last July I think) a pair of individuals who were said to be those prophets. Their mission, although certainly somewhere between `odd' and `fantastic' to normal logic and considerations, is causing excited speculation. In fact, one of her friends, Rebecca, added that she had been told that the Prophet Samuel and King David were also back in the land. What is happening? -- can it be?

Rachel noted that most people discredited these statements and personages completely -- assuming them to be mere `nuts' of some kind that had recently immigrated from Russia. That certainly makes good sense to me, she mused. Certainly there had been a large number of Jews released from Russia, -- actually, some 1.7 million over just the last year!

`Nuts' or not -- they were causing a new consciousness of prophetic things and expectations. Rachel again mused that it would be essentially impossible to prove either position. Isn't that something, she thought, -- even God's fulfilled prophecies (if) would be unacceptable, certainly unbelievable in our cynical world. This struck a very pensive cord -- causing her to promise herself to be more open, looking for truth, not hard-bound to `go with the crowd'.

It was Tuesday, April 3, '1990', and to Rachel's amazement -- she actually found herself actively looking for those that were reported to have been `resurrected'. She mused, -- would it be possible to verify or authenticate such people -- or at least truly and objectively discredit them? Well, -- time will tell, for sure!

Just then, she came around the corner, on the way to the Jerusalem Hotel. There was `Ezekiel'. He was surrounded by a very noisy group of people, most were jocular and heckling --- it was obvious that few if any were even remotely open to the possibility that he was real, -- a resurrected man of God.

What a thought -- what a responsibility --- what a challenge. It was that, a challenge to Rachel -- what questions could she ask? She'd just listen for a while --

Sam and Sadie Cohen were there with `Ezekiel' also -- they had been listening for about a half-hour -- he certainly was at ease, and very articulate. He seemed to speak in an old Hebrew form, yet everyone seemed to understand him very well. He was actually quite young in appearance, although the long beard tended to `age' him. His general demeanor lent both aura and authority to his message. It was interesting, everyone seemed to understand him, -- in their own language! Sam and Sadie were so absorbed in this amazing man that they failed to see Rachel until much later.

Sam noted that the people were listening more carefully now, an amazing transition from the earlier raucous jibes.

`Ezekiel' abruptly stood -- he had all their attention (now some 300 strong) all straining to hear, -- not wanting to miss a word. In a loud voice he said, "God's End Time plan is at hand -- the land is yours, it will be divided into tribes, you will restart your sacrifices -- the Passover on the 14th day of the first Month (next week) and repeat it 6-months later."

"After this", he continued, "the Prince of Israel (actually King David) will initiate the Daily Sacrifice to God for His great and gracious plan".

There was a short silence -- really a hush fell on everyone -- then a great cheer welled from almost everyone. The crowd had truly become involved -- amazing, thought Rachel, truly amazing! In the commotion that followed, `Ezekiel' just seemed to slip away -- for when the crowd quieted down, he was gone!

It was then that Sam and Sadie spotted Rachel and went over to greet her and discuss this new encounter with the past, and oh yes, possibly the future!!

"Hi, Rachel! What do you make of this fellow?" Sam called out.

"Hello Sam, Hi Sadie. Well, all I can say is that this is building into a very interesting situation. This is totally consistent with the other things I have seen the last few months. Remember I mentioned this to you and the others at LAX before our return flight. It's awesome! Really Awesome!! Maybe Mr. Monroe is right -- this may be the start of the prophetic fulfillment of these things. Things he said were part of the End Time activities. Awesome for sure!!!"

This situation, it seemed to Sam, was indeed awesome -- or maybe just `crazy' -- but there was a strange overriding authority in it all! `Ezekiel' had mentioned King David! -- also, the whole house of Israel! Was this all just `setting the stage' for something really big?? He had announced that we were at the start of the End Time!

"Sam", Sadie said, "I must get back to our room and rest awhile -- it has really been a strenuous and emotional afternoon!"

"Right, honey", Sam replied. "Rachel, we'll have to get together soon and compare notes, ok?"

"Sure thing", Rachel said, "see you both soon -- have a good rest Sadie". With that she watched the Cohen's disappear around the corner and she headed back to her room.

That evening, after dinner, Sam located a Bible he had seen the night they landed. He found the writings of The Prophet Ezekiel -- recalling that Mr. Monroe had specifically indicated key portions in chapters 37, 40 and 45 through 48. Sam quickly scanned these passages, noting that his speed reading skills came in handy, but only to a point -- since the complex subject matter was inter-woven with topics and sub-topics which made speed reading (at least understanding) essentially impossible. He remembered that Mr. Monroe had said that it would require "studying to show yourself approved of God". Boy, that is a fact! -- this will take study

Rachel was in her room, actually preparing for the next day -- laying out her clothes, seeing that all was in order. As she straightened her `Levis' on the hanger, she was strangely reminded of something `Ezekiel' had said (wasn't it funny, she mused, how a seemingly insignificant and usually unrelated thing would strum some memory) -- handling her Levis had set in motion thoughts about `the Land' -- the total area Mr. Monroe had noted the Prophet Ezekiel had said Israel would have. Significantly, she recalled, the Jerusalem Post had just that day stated that Israeli troops could easily control and take the southern part of Lebanon any time they wanted. Mr. Monroe had indicated that possibly Israel would only take the Land when it was really needed -- perhaps when "the whole house of Israel is resurrected"?? Boy, thought Rachel, -- that is also an awesome thought. She laughed to herself, -- for the word awesome had become a very important and expressive word -- a word that really had not been a part of her very conservative and bland vocabulary.

Chapter 5:      Ezekiel' Questioned

Sam and Sadie Cohen had dropped by Rachel's apartment at 2 PM.  Sam wanted to discuss some things more in depth.

Rachel and Sam had been talking  up  a  storm for some time. Sadie was listening attentively ---  there was a slight pause in the conversation -- they were `studying out' a problem that had just popped into their view.

"What form indeed", Sam said, "-- what form of `men' are these `crazies' we are seeing? -- if they are resurrected `beings' then they should be somehow different from mere humans!"

Sadie interposed a thought, "-- then, if these are `standard' humans (flesh and blood) they are indeed crazies. But, if not flesh and blood -- then they are `special' -- resurrected."

"Wow, Sadie, I think you've hit it", exclaimed Rachel! "In fact, look here, in the Prophet Ezekiel's writings -- see here in Chapter 37 verses 4 through 6 -- it talks only about bones, sinew, flesh and breath --- no blood!! I had seen that earlier, now it really makes some sense to me."

"That's part of the logic package", Sam noted, "-- but not complete -- we need at least one other substantive item to make it complete. -- like, `there is no blood'!!"

Rachel was contemplating this.  Then, as if by inspiration, she proposed: "Let's do a test!"

"A test", Sam said, "-- what kind?"

"Oh", said Rachel, "how about a pin prick on `Ezekiel's' hand or arm, that  might suffice!  I wonder if he would allow this? How about a `blood pressure' test -- how about heart beat? No blood, no need for heart beat!!"

"We can try", said Sadie "-- if we can find him again."

Sam noted, "-- this test and hypothesis is zero unless there is no blood!!  If there is blood, then we are back to square one."

Rachel provided another perspective: "You know, she said, -- we might as well be `right up front' with this, asking permission, etc., since `they' will undoubtedly be way ahead of us -- they will know what we are up to."

"Yes", said Sam, "but if we don't say anything, and if they are not resurrected, then we have the edge on them!"

It was agreed. They would keep their edge -- but  would attempt

to: see blood, measure  blood pressure and/or determine heart beat.   Rachel indicated: "I've never seen anyone touch them perhaps you can't."

"We'll have to see", said Sadie.

Sam and Sadie started to leave -- Rachel said, "Hey I need to get out of this stuffy room -- mind if I tag along with you?"

"Not at all", both Sam and Sadie said in unison, "-- let's go."

As they left the apartment front door, would you believe, they   practically ran into `Ezekiel'.  He was strolling towards them all by himself. Rachel squealed with delight "-- here's our opportunity", she said.

With that she greeted `Ezekiel': "Good afternoon Prophet! -- could we talk with you?" As she said this she offered her hand to him -- he ignored it.

"Surely", he said, "I would like to talk  to you -- haven't had much opportunity to hear the English language." This took the three of them by surprise, they hadn't even considered the language  barrier!  It just was not there -- but that was not in itself proof positive!

Rachel continued, "-- Prophet, could I take your picture with my friends Sam and Sadie Cohen?"

`Ezekiel' said, "Sam?  That is an interesting name."

"Sam is short for Samuel", Sam said.

"Oh, I see", 'Ezekiel' said, "I guess I'll get used to your ways eventually."

    "May I take that picture?"

"I didn't want to ignore you, Rachel", said  `Ezekiel', "but, `taking a picture'??"

"Oh", said Rachel, "this little box is a camera.  It can capture our likeness, or any other scene -- allowing us to enjoy it later.  See, here is a picture taken by such a camera.  It is of my parents. They are in the USA."

     "USA ??"

“Oh", said Rachel again, "USA stands for the United States of    America -- it is on the other side of the world from us here -- the `new' world to you perhaps."

"Ezekiel", Sadie ventured, "-- are you real? -- I mean, were you dead and now have been  resurrected?"

"Yes on both", said Ezekiel.  "God is so gracious -- so good!! He is allowing me to be here to help usher in the End Time -- it is my task to properly divide the Land and get `the whole house of Israel' into their proper places in the land."

"Ezekiel", said Sam, "-- may I touch you?"

"Certainly", Samuel, said Ezekiel, "extending his right hand towards Sam."

"Sam shook his hand and at the same time also gripped his arm lightly just at the biceps on the right arm.  Sam felt for a pulse. He found none. Then Sam placed his hand on `Ezekiel's' chest, looking for a heartbeat."

`Ezekiel' said, "Samuel, what are you doing?"

"Well", said Sam a little sheepishly, "I'm trying to find a pulse or heart beat."  "I don't", said 'Ezekiel', "have a heart beat -- don't need it anymore -- no blood!!"

Sadie was so excited, "-- Ezekiel", she said, "then it is true, -- we are in the End Time!"

"That is absolutely right children", said Ezekiel,  -- and with that he was gone, -- just gone!!!

There was a stunned silence -- then Rachel  squealed and let out with a big "Oh WOW!"

Sam and Sadie were speechless for awhile more -- then Sam ventured a meek -"wow" himself, which being interpreted meant,  `he's real, it's real, we are in the middle of it!'

Rachel surmised that they (Sam, Sadie and she) had something to share with the `group' if they see them again!  An understatement for sure!! "Can you imagine, -- he just disappeared!!", she said. "Isn't it interesting that we just happened to `bump' into him just when we proposed the test??!! Very scary! Very - well, awesome!!" Awesome has become Rachel's newest and most favored word!

"For sure", Rachel said, "we must get over to see the Monroe's right away!!!"

Chapter 6:        Questions/Answers/Quakes

Harold and Phoebe Monroe were preparing to go out to see another part of the walled city -- they had visited the closed eastern gate yesterday, remembering that it will be opened for the Prince, perhaps one day soon.  They were going to have good cause to be thankful that they were not there today.

Harold was just reaching for the door handle when there was a knock on the door.

Opening the door he found Rachel and the Cohen's standing there almost speechless!!

Then, all were talking at once.

"Whoa", Harold said -- laughing   "one at a time."

Rachel waited a full millisecond for Sam or Sadie to take the lead --then blurted out about their encounter with Ezekiel. She made special note that he had `just disappeared' to conclude the encounter.  Sam and Sadie had nodded approval of all said by Rachel as she was telling the Monroe's. "Indeed", said Sam, "Ezekiel doesn't have a pulse and I couldn't find a heart beat either. Also, I bet that where he can control his presence so well, probably means he can not be killed or even injured anymore.  Wow!! -- awesome I guess!!"

"Wow", said Harold, "that truly is fantastic. Really is awesome!"

"Yeah", said Rachel, "-- we are indeed on the threshold of fantastic things -- wonderful things!!!"

"Little do we know", said Harold, -- although it seems to be getting clearer by the moment!"

Sadie asked, "-- when do you think things will come to a focus -- when will we really see and know?"

"Well Sadie", said Harold, "as we discussed previously, the Land must be taken (southern Lebanon) and divided per the Prophet Ezekiel's prophesied boundaries.  It appears this could be done any time.  And, fairly soon, I should think, King David will come on the scene -- he will be Israel's King (combining Judah and Ephraim -- the Whole House of Israel). Apparently we are seeing some of the vanguard (as you young people have proved this afternoon). The rest should follow in due time -- probably just after the Land is available.  What a privilege is ours to see these things happening!! -- what a responsibility.  How can we tell it -- who will believe it??"

"Mr. Monroe", -- Rachel paused to collect her thoughts. "I’m Jewish in background, as you know, I haven’t been -- too -- religious.  I guess I’d be considered a modern reformed Jew.  Until I met you, I had never really considered anything  about 'religion’ very seriously. -- well, life just goes on -- kind of a dog eat dog  existence -- never thought it might change -- at least not as we are now seeing and experiencing.  I haven’t been taught about this.  We know you are a Christian -- and you obviously see 'these things’ -- are alert to them.  Have we missed something?"

"Rachel, yours is a typical and timeless search -- a cry for truth -- to really know.  And, by the way, God sees and understands that kind of searching!  He honors it!!"

"Yes, I am a Christian", said Harold.  "One that loves all true Jews -- after all my Savior (whom I love very much) is a Jew, born of Jewish parents of the house and lineage of David -- of the house of Judah.  He is your Messiah also, you are expecting Him to come, we are expecting Him to come back.  Phoebe and I were discussing this last night.  There are several reasons we love the Jew -- right, Phoebe?"

"That’s right Honey", Phoebe said, "one other reason is that we love Israel and Jews because God so greatly used them (your people she said, looking at Sam and Sadie to Rachel) as messengers of His Salvation to me, and to all like me that would turn to Him as the only way.  That is probably the second largest reason, Harold."

"Mr. Monroe, -- excuse me", Sadie said with pursed lips, "but I just don’t understand?"

"What’s the problem, Sadie?" -- Harold probed.

"Well for one thing, both Sam and I are fairly well schooled both in general academic subjects as well as religious things, and, well, this is really foreign to us.  Why is that? -- what is going on?"

"Sadie", Harold said, "it will be hard for you and many others that have been trained so carefully.  In effect, we each live in a box that has been formed by our heritage, our upbringing, our schooling, our work, etc. Your box and mine are quite different --actually no two 'boxes’ are the same.  Sam and Sadie, -- what we each need to do is to seek God’s 'box’ -- His understanding.  Actually, that is what God insists on -- we get that by seeking Him.  Let’s spend a little time looking at the facts together, ok?"

"Actually", Harold continued, "Rachel expressed herself well -- pretty typical of all of us -- busy with life -- dog eat dog.  But, that is not God’s way for us -- rather, He wants us to come into His rest -- become part of His family."

"Oh", said Sadie, "that sounds so good. REST -- real rest in and with God!!"  Sam put his arm around Sadie, snuggled her a bit. "Can people really have that rest?"  Sadie continued, "does it include Jews like me, -- like Sam, -- like Rachel?"

"Sadie", Harold said, "let’s look at it closer. Rachel -- you and Sadie have both asked basically if you have missed something.  That young people, is a very perceptive question -- not an easy one. Rather, it is

easy, far too easy, for all of us to miss the very best while we chase after even good things."

     "We can look, ---"

Just then an earthquake started rumbling, Harold noted it was 4:35 p.m..  It jarred and shook!

"Steady", Harold said. "Sam, take Sadie to the closet, Rachel better get under that heavy table, Phoebe come with me."  With that  Harold guided Phoebe into a small bathroom for protection.  "Stay inside and covered!" he shouted above the rumbling and noises from outside.

They could hear glass breaking and what sounded like buildings crashing down -- the quake lasting an indeterminable length -- seemed forever -- but actually a long 15 seconds from start to finish.

Then, there was 'quiet’ that only happens after such a quake -- heads started popping out of closets and from under the table --

"Guess it’s all clear for now", Harold said.  "Everyone ok?"

     "Yes", they all said.

"Good -- let’s get outside now", said Harold, "and see if others are ok, or if someone needs our help".

Outside, in the late afternoon light, they found some damage nearby, yet not as extensive as they thought it might be.

Rachel was pulling at Harold’s sleeve -- that big question mark all over her face.  Harold wanted to laugh, but just couldn’t in the face of the situation --but his answer to her unspoken question was classic: "you bet!!"

Rachel knew -- 'you bet it’s part of the big picture!'

They worked hard for hours helping people get back to some semblance of normality -- shop keepers and tourists alike -- there was a general mess! Harold praised the Lord that there were no serious injuries or deaths, at least in their area.  Harold asked Rachel go with Phoebe so  that he could continue working on some of the heavier tasks.

There were rumors spreading like wildfire that the Mosque of Omar had been leveled and a great chasm or rift opened to the east.

Later, about 7:30 p.m. as they were able to take time to eat sandwiches which Phoebe and Rachel had made, they discovered that the main energies of the quake had been expended in eastern Jerusalem, leveling the Mosque of Omar and opening a chasm eastward for many miles -- actually, slightly north just missing the north shore of the Dead Sea. No longer did the pastoral scene of the Garden of Gethsemane and the grand edifices eastward exist. They had been leveled with and into the chasm.

A number of lives had been lost -- people were missing, but considering the drastic damage and physical earth movement, the number was quite small. It was as if the finger of God had struck at the Mosque and then proceeded easterly to form the great divide!

The areas west of the temple mount were hardly touched -- the heavy in-wall buildings survived very well.

All communications to the outside world had been cut -- it was rumored that even the satellite telecommunications systems were  damaged  beyond repair.  Electrical power was out -- Israel is now close to being truly non-modern!  A drastic turn of events.

Cleanup and repair, and getting emergency power generators into operation continued into the night.  It would take several weeks to get back to near normal.

Despite this difficult problem, the `group' confirmed their plan to be at the Knesset early so that they could get visitor seats to hear Jacob Levi give his scheduled report of his recent USA trip.

"See you there at 7:30 a.m.", Rachel said.

"Right", confirmed the Cohen's and the Monroe's"-- see you there Rachel".

With that they all headed for their respective rooms and some much needed rest.

The Monroe's were 'bushed' very ready to retire to their room a bit early. It had been a rather busy day even before the quake got their attention. They were tired, but the events of the last few days were pressing Harold hard to review and update himself on the many key prophetic passages in the Bible.

"Honey", he said to Phoebe, "I'm going to spend some time in God's Word -- you can join me if you like."

"I'd like to Harold, but I just can't keep my eyes open.  You  go  ahead   -- but be sure you bring me up to date on any new leading you get."

"You go ahead and get your rest Honey", Harold said.

As he turned his thoughts to God's Word, adjusting the reading

lamp over his shoulder, Harold recalled that for a number of years his pat and classical views had seemed fine, but recently (over the last decade or so) they had been under review and undergoing reform.

Now, in the light of events he and others were witnessing, he realized that the `pat' and 'classical' views were really of little value.  The key indeed is in Daniel's writings  with the pre-cursors  provided by Ezekiel.

Many key premises were all of a sudden leaping out at him! Harold was reading and comparing statements that the Prophet Ezekiel and the Prophet Daniel had made.  He noted that the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:15 had pointedly pressed the reader to go to the Prophet Daniel if he would understand.

The final time line is becoming clear.  Also, the premise for "the whole house of Israel and King David" to be resurrected before the true Church is gathered to Him (the `Rapture').

Bottom line, he thought, this is awesome -- but at the same time it is starting to fit a pattern which appears to be God's plan and purpose  unfolding before our very eyes.  He was sleepy, -- he wondered if perhaps he was dreaming all of this.  No, he is  awake,  it is the real world.  As he turned out the light and got ready to go to bed, he wondered what the next day or two would bring. "Awesome, -- truly awesome!!"  When he quietly said this, he could almost hear Rachel squealing as she said it. "Awesome -- Indeed!!"

As he knelt beside the bed, Harold prayed especially for each person in their little group -- that his Father-God would continue to give each one His insight and purpose for life -- that each would be drawn closer to Him and  find completeness and salvation through the  Messiah.  He prayed this would be ever clearer as Israel's clock was soon to start ticking out it's remaining days.

Chapter 7:    The Returned

It was almost 7:30 am  when the `group' had converged on the steps of the Knesset, anxious to discuss the recent activities and to see Jacob in action.

The Knesset was buzzing with activity, and as the `group' was in the hall going towards their seats -- it was now 7:45 a.m.-- who should come along but their friend Jacob.

Jacob greeted them each by name, indicating that he wasn't sure what the schedule for their deliberations might be in view of the earthquake and all. "Hey `group', let's meet for lunch, ok? I'll make reservations for 12:00 Noon at the Jerusalem Hotel Restaurant". Receiving affirmative nods, he bid them, " Shalom, Shalom" as he hurriedly headed for his desk.

At 8 :00 a.m. sharp the Knesset was called to order -- indicating that they had many and varied things to cover -- dispensing with most of the usual ceremonial opening activities.

By 8:07 they were getting down to business -- of course, realizing that these public sessions are generally kept low key -- where the major work and classified activities are carried on in committees behind closed doors.

The first item of business was a shocker to Harold. It placed a resolution on the floor for voice vote which was to accept the southern coalition of Lebanese Christians' request for Israel to take permanent and sovereign control of the area of Lebanon up to the latitude of Damascus.  The  Lebanese  group has already received the United Nations recognition of these boundary adjustments for this change. The vote was taken and passed by voice count : 75 to 15, with 7 abstentions, and  23 members not present.

This had `sailed' right through with only minor opposition.  Israel has been involved with Lebanon for years, essentially providing all medical, postal,  communications and food supplies to southern Lebanon. Israel had also provided more than just moral support to the southern groups in their civil war efforts.

Of course, this will help Israel tremendously by improving her buffer zone as well as her overall area.

Harold noted to the `group' that,  "this now cleared the way for the Prince to come on the scene and set up the Daily Sacrifice -- of course, contingent upon the Land being divided." Harold also noted that, "things were indeed happening -- nothing static here. Whew!!"

Harold had just let the `Whew' escape his lips, when there was quite a disturbance at the rear of the hall. Rachel noted that it was only 8:28 AM.  Actually, the Prime Minister was just preparing to say something when an orderly ran forward and talked with him.

"Ladies and gentlemen", the Prime Minister said, -- "we have an unexpected ------"

Before he could complete the sentence, a person entered quickly from the rear and walked down the center aisle toward the podium. He was in full view of all members of the Knesset. There was a general buzz -- and this person carrying a shepherds staff commanded great authority.  Obviously so, for nobody even thought of challenging his right to be there. He walked with sureness of stride -- he made his way to the podium of Israel's seat of government.  It was truly amazing that no one challenged his right to `take charge'.

A hush fell as he planted his staff loudly on the floor, several times, like a resounding `gavel' to call a meeting to order, -- then announced: "I am the Prophet Samuel, God has sent me to again  anoint your king".  He paused, turned to his right. He beckoned to a stalwart fellow standing in the side aisle. This person moved forward -- again, amazingly so, nobody challenging any of these proceedings. Upon reaching the podium area this stalwart fellow (impressive and handsome) was asked to kneel. The `Prophet' taking a small horn of oil from his girdle, anoints the kneeling one "King of all Israel".  He then, with a flair, introduces their new king. "This is -- King David, -- the Returned!!"

It was incredible --  a `deafening' silence had settled over this scene  -- then unbelief, consternation, and wonder were obvious emotions clearly seen on practically every face visible. This lasted perhaps 8 or 10 seconds, then, as if under direction of a choir master, a great and welling shout of joy and  fulfillment came from almost everyone present as this fantastic scene impacted them.  King David had returned!!

As if this were not enough, the following scenes continued to raise the level of the already highly expectant crowd --

King David stood, raised his hand for silence. You could have heard a pin drop!

"Greetings to each of you", said `King David'-- "especially all those of the household of faith. The grace  of God is so great -- He is wonderful -- He is truly all powerful -- His plan is perfect.  He has allowed me to return after almost 3,000 years to help all of Israel (the whole house) to regain and complete it's glory under His direction -- to bring great Glory to His mighty name. This will usher in a short period wherein each member of the house of Israel will have an opportunity to be of faith or not."

"We will have the privilege of seeing the sacrifices completed -- to see God's Messiah back on earth. It will be a difficult time for all -- a time of special testing.  You will have adequate opportunity to decide your own and individual fate -- I will ever encourage you to stand firm for our God and for His Anointed.  I am not The Messiah, I tell you this so that there  is no doubt at all -- Our Messiah will return to earth soon, in due time."

"I am here to prepare the way for Him.  Indeed, Israel as the apple of God's eye will be prepared as the Bride of Messiah -- having been chosen per the covenants God has held  with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). But, Israel, because of unbelief, will share her Messiah."

"Yes, our Messiah turned to the gentiles, as prophesied, and has made His salvation available to `whosoever would come' over this last 2,000 year period. Yes, The Messiah is that same Jesus the Christ, He that was crucified that we might all have eternal life.  Your eternal fate now depends solely on your acceptance or not of His sacrifice."

"The sacrifices that we raised to God are  types of His great sacrifice -- we will celebrate these sacrifices of animals for a very short time now, bringing to completion our (Israel's) Old Covenant relationships with our God. Then, as our faith is placed in The Messiah fully, seeing  Him that "we pierced", the  redemption of each person that accepts and receives Him as their savior will be completed, fully reconciled to our God.  Sadly, there are those that will not believe -- these will be separated from God and The Messiah forever and ever and ever!"

"Yes", King David continued, "Our God is Great, and much to be praised. May the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts ever be acceptable to Him. Bless the Lord, Oh my soul --and all that is with in me bless His Holy Name -- even that name that is above every name,  JESUS!!!"

With that shouted pronouncement, King David turned to his left and motioned to several now standing in the aisle,  to join him at the podium.

King David then turned back to the assembly saying, "-- I want to initiate some critical activities and appoint leadership to oversee them. Each of these men you will know from your scriptures, each is blessed to be back in service to their God."

"First", he continued, "I want you to meet Israel's great leader from  exile -- Moses. Yes, Moses will head up all  activities related to the Temple -- location and operation of it to God's glory".  With that, a  striking individual stepped forward, lifting both hands high in praise to his God and for his opportunity to have a part in these End Time activities.

The crowd clapped their hands and shouted their praises, all believing they were in a dream --

"I hate to interrupt such praise to our God", King David interjected, "but we must hasten on -- there is much yet to be done this day."

Next, King David said, "Here is Joseph (the son of Israel) -- he is to establish and manage the food and water supplies for Israel and establish guidelines for the worlds needs".

A small man stepped forward and with bowed head and raised hands gave praise to God for all His gracious acts towards mankind. His manner caused the crowd to be very quiet and pensive.

"The next two men", King David continued, "are the prophets Ezekiel and Daniel. God gave them His plan for the End Time including the Land to be occupied (which incidentally your Knesset voted to accept just this morning), how it is to be divided, who is to be in which areas, and how the Temple is to be placed, and so forth."

The Prophet Ezekiel and the Prophet Daniel similarly gave praise to God for their opportunity to serve Him -- and for His great and marvelous plan -- His kindnesses to Israel and to all the world.

The mention of the Temple incited a special excitement, if you can imagine adding excitement on top of excitement!!

"As a concluding action", King David raises his hand for silence, "-- I want to be very clear, we are in a very special period of time for Israel.  I will be your King only for a short time -- The Messiah, when He returns, will be your KING, and I your Prince FOREVER."

This brought a great and resounding corporate praise from the ips of essentially everyone present.

King David continued, "-- Israel in  expecting her Messiah, is very open to false leaders. She will be prone to follow one of such stature. He will be the anti-messiah or anti-Christ. Do not follow him.  He will be powerful and show many signs and wonders.  Be aware, our Messiah will return to the earth only after this period of testing is complete, actually, about 3 1/2 years after great signs in the heavens -- the sun, and moon, and stars will be involved and then we will see Him return to mount Zion in power and great glory.

"Many that have already accepted Him as their personal Savior prior to the sun, moon, and stars signs will be gathered to meet Jesus the Christ in the air. They will join Him for a 3 1/2 year feast time of praise and judgment of works. Meeting with all true Christians who are then truly part of Him in a new physical/spiritual relationship (the Body of Christ).

"After this period, Messiah, including His new Body of believers mystically combined, will then come for His Bride, true Israel. Yes, all that will now complete their faith in Him as their personal savior.  This is, of course, yet another Mystery of God's kingdom."

"One last warning", King David said, "the anti‑messiah will finally do away with special praise to God and will set Himself up in the Temple of God as God -- this about 1290 days after he orders special praise or sacrifices to be `done away'. The Prophets Ezekiel and Daniel here wrote God's message to us over 2500 years ago -- each of us needs to be prepared. They will both be teaching all that are interested -- they will also provide daily messages to the newspapers and media.  None of this is going to be hidden -- it will be quite out in the open."

"In the meantime", King David said, "Israel will be under my rule -- God will establish Israel as a major earthly kingdom. Please join me in bidding Moses and his men God's speed as they right now prepare to go out to the mountains of Nebo to locate the Tabernacle and it's Temple -- yes, the old traveling  tabernacle!"

With that, Moses and a small band of men make their way out the exit.

When attention came back to the podium, all the others were gone -- King David, the Prophets and Joseph -- they just were gone.

To say there was turmoil in the Knesset is putting it mildly. There was chaos!! Everyone was in a state of shock. The Prime Minister was limply sitting in his chair apparently a thousand miles away `somewhere' ------ he finally `came to' and stepped rather gingerly to the podium.

"Ladies and Gentlemen -- it is now only 10:00 a.m. this has been quite a session -- amazing -- really awesome!"

Rachel  squealed in Harold's ear, "it really is,  isn't it!! Wow!!"

The Prime Minister continued,  "we are dismissed until 1:30 this afternoon -- we will meet in closed session to consider these very significant activities and what course of action (if any) we must take". With that he turned on his heel and left the hall.

It was quite obvious to Harold that the impact of these events were being hashed and re-hashed. Lines for and against this new king were taking shape.  Many said -- this is really too much! Just this last week Dr. H.A. Issem , a renowned world-Jew had met with the Knesset, seeking their support for world-wide action related to communications, food, water, AIDS and cleaning up the destruction caused by earthquakes.  The Knesset was really drawn to him, he represents a very logical alternative. He has a very authoritative yet personable way about him.

The `group' just sort of migrated to the front of the Knesset, really almost numb with what they had just experienced.

Rachel broke the silence, "-- Boy, O'Boy, O'Boy", she said, "talk about our being in the right place at the right time!!"

"Yes", said Harold, "we are really right there living it, aren't we?"

Sam and Sadie could not agree more, "-- boy how this all fits with what we have been discussing!  Mr. Monroe, --  Sadie  and I really need to get added information from you -- possibly even from the Prophets that King David said will be teaching."

"Right Sam", said Harold, "we all want to get in on that teaching if at all possible."

Phoebe noted, "without doubt Israel was on the move, she  is  definitely well into the End Time -- and of special note and interest right now is the recovery of the Tabernacle with all it's trappings. Isn't It interesting", she said, "that yesterdays earthquake had really set the stage to clear the Temple Mount.  I hear that workers with  bull dozers already had the major area cleared -- expected to have the rest ready by day after tomorrow -- allowing the Tabernacle with it's Temple to be properly placed. That is so fantastic, -- yes Rachel, Awesome!!!"

Excitement was high, -- unbelief had turned to praise and belief!! It was fantastic!  Even the special one page limited editions of the Jerusalem Post (they were operating on emergency power) were expressing it as truly awesome!

All this happened, Harold mused, yet it is barely 10:30 A.M. -- the group is simply stunned.  It becomes more fantastic each hour, he thought.

Rachel has been dying to get their group together where they could talk -- things have been happening so fast that there hasn't been any time to really compare notes.

Sam and Sadie have already asked to get with Mr. Monroe, they really want to get his insights.

"Well", said Harold looking at Phoebe for approval, "we can be available about 7 :00 p.m.  I should think, but we will yet be with Jacob and all of you for lunch.  We'll see what the afternoon brings -- we had plans for some typical tourist activities but the Lord's plan seems to be quite different, and a lot more interesting and exciting!!"

Sadie, with Sam and Rachel on each side of her, was chattering away about Samuel, King David, Moses, Joseph, etc, etc -- until Sam had to ask her to `cool it'.  She was almost out of control. As they stopped to get  `her' breath -- the Monroe's came along and they all stood in the middle of the sidewalk talking up a storm.

"At this rate", Rachel said, "we'll all have `lock-jaw' before lunch time!"

It was now 11:45 a.m. and true, near lock-jaw conditions prevailed. Harold was particularly enjoying the comments and insights of the younger folks -- he was also hoping that their lunch with Jacob would bring some really significant insights from his Knesset perspectives -- the parliamentarian point of view!

They were now close to the Jerusalem Hotel, so were fairly casual in their walk, well, more like meandering at this point.

Just then a rather  boisterous `parade' of people came into view -- approaching them -- the word quickly spread (actually propagated like wild fire) that this is  the band of men going out to the Mountains -- they are on their way to recover the Tabernacle!!!  This was electric -- like lightning  sparkling off of everything, animate and inanimate.  This was central to the Jewish dream -- to see the Temple restored -- but to have the original traveling Tabernacle and Temple -- WOW!!  They say, God willing, they will return with it tomorrow evening. They expect to have it in place by sundown on Friday for the Sabbath!  Can it be?!

Harold noted to all that the nationalistic fervor is very high and growing. One can hardly conceive of a people of such zeal and purpose, seemingly poised as an arrow in a drawn bow ---seeking a target.

"You know", Harold said, "you young people -- young Jews -- are now being particularly effected. You basically have been somewhat separated from the old Jewish traditions and scriptures, just kind of took it with a grain of salt, but now there are proof positives everywhere -- there is little place for denial. Yes indeed, he said, the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is `alive and well' in Israel."

As the tabernacle brigade faded in the distance, Rachel was almost coming unglued!  Here was one `turned on' Israeli -- full of expectations, -- full of questions. Rachel noted, "that we seemed to be generating 10 questions for every answer. But," she said, "the answers being received were somewhere between immense and fantastic -- yes indeed, she said, awesome!!

The group found themselves at the hotel right at noon -- and were quickly ushered right to their waiting table for six, -- oh yes, it does pay to have your `local' Knesset Parliamentarian make the reservations through his office!

Jacob joined them almost immediately. "I was held up", he said, "by the Tabernacle parade. I began to wonder if I would be able to get here before 1:00 P.M."

"Good to see you Jacob", Harold said,  "-- we were all certainly impressed with the Knesset session this morning. We did, however, miss hearing your report."

Jacob swallowed hard, almost choking on that one -- strange, he hadn't even thought about his being passed over. "-- You know, he said, "no one -- I mean no one -- had any inkling that was going to happen. Very frankly, we don't know quite what to do with it or about it. I suppose some direction will come out of the closed session this afternoon.  For some reason we can't bring normal pressures or authority into play -- we all seem quite willing to let it run it's course. Strange", he mused.

Chapter 8:        The Plan -- Unfolding

At that point the waiter was at the table for their order -- Jacob suggested a business lunch that "is excellent", it also includes iced  tea. They all agreed, and returned to their conversation without loosing a beat -- probably not a syllable.

Sadie asked, "Mr. Monroe, we are obviously in the midst of a well planned -- well, an operation of some kind?! it seems to at least partially fit the scheme of things you have been telling us about. Where is all this taking us?"

"Yes, Sadie, there is a plan -- an operation underway as you put it. You know, it is so great for Phoebe and me to be here experiencing these great things with you! I must confess that my previous studies, although immensely helpful, are being challenged and updated moment by moment. The infra-structure or details are `blowing me away'."

Rachel blurted out, "you know, King David was very clear that we Jews are an important part but only a shared part with and in the Messiah.  I'm not sure just exactly what that really means, but it seemed to fit pretty well with what you were telling us from your Christian perspective."

"Right, Rachel", said Mr. Monroe, "Israel is the apple of God's eye -- he promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob the land, great leadership, and great influence on all nations -- and above all, that He would be your God and you would be His people. To complete this process He promised you His Messiah, His anointed one."

"Significantly", Harold continued after a short pause, -- "some of the promises were conditional -- oh, -- particularly those related to Israel blessing all nations."

"In God's great wisdom and grace -- He implemented His word and His pronouncements to man in both direct and somewhat oblique ways.  Oblique in that they often required careful and prayerful consideration and study."

Rachel blurted out her comment, "Like what you said concerning studying to show yourself approved unto God?  Right."

"Right on Rachel, that is it indeed ."

"Look", said Mr. Monroe, "at the Prophet Ezekiel's writings -- and Daniel's too, -- they both cried out for understanding, etc.  It has never been easy -- it probably never will be!! But, dear people, -- we are seeing and getting an impact that had better get our attention!  You see, God wants us to seek Him -- to search  diligently -- to long-for and love Him."

Sadie broke in, "Mr. Monroe, we are fairly well oriented to `flesh and blood' things -- well, spirits, and things like that -- tough to swallow!!"

"That is certainly true, Sadie, but you know, -- I bet that most of us here at this table are satisfied that the `crazies' of just a few days ago are actually not so `crazy'  after all.  I for one feel that they are indeed God's men resurrected.  That is either true, or the phenomena that we all witnessed at your Knesset, Jacob, is really hard to explain."

Jacob nodded that he understood, but added, "-- still", he said, "it makes no logical sense."

"That is certainly true Jake, and God knows that too -- but He wants no more or less than for us to believe Him."

"By the way, people",  Mr. Monroe said, "that is the main reason for God to send His Messiah to you and to us -- belief.  How can such an infinite God send His Messiah to you and to us -- believable?  How can such finite beings understand such infinity - such  greatness?  We can not, even so, God's plan brought Him down to man in the likeness of a man. He became man for us!  And more than that, He became sin for us. He literally took our penalty. More on that later perhaps."

"For the moment", Mr. Monroe said, "I'm going to jump right over the last 2,000 years,  since Israel's clock has been stopped for this whole time.  Stopped, awaiting the return of the whole house of Israel -- awaiting the return of the Messiah for His  bride Israel, with whom He will rule and reign 1,000 years as your King."

Rachel interjected, "-- that's right, even King David this morning noted that he was our King for a short time, but Messiah will be our King forever."

"That is exactly right, Rachel -- good point."

"We right now are seeing", Mr. Monroe continued, "things happening in Israel that are fitting as key parts of the End Time puzzle."

At this moment the waiter started serving the luncheons and   providing everyone with iced tea.  He might as well have been invisible, thought Jacob. No one seemed to even notice him or the food. Yet, no one missed a beat in the conversation -- all the while devouring the food.

Mr. Monroe continued even as he was  thoughtfully eating his lunch, "-- yes, these things are keys to the puzzle -- key to the End Time plan, -- leading irrevocably to Messiah's RETURN -- the really big return!! King David did it today! -- Messiah will do it soon!!"

Jacob asked, "Is this soon ---  days? -- months? -- years? "

"Well Mr. Levi, Sir,-- that is part of our task now.  With the latest information we should be able to nearly pin point the date --- but not until the Prince (King David) starts the Daily Sacrifice."

Rachel squirmed and squealed her delight, " -- please go on Mr. Monroe!"

"Well 'group'", chided Mr. Monroe, "it would appear that we may have `Instant Temple' here in Israel -- on the Temple Mount (thanks to the earthquake and `Moses' and his men out there locating the Tabernacle). The Temple is supposed to be in place day after tomorrow."

"You remember", Jacob, "your Knesset voted to take southern Lebanon. King David has Ezekiel working with your officials to `divide the land'. We well may see Israel celebrate the Passover starting next Monday. I understand that many have already started the preparations (we are talking lamb sacrifice and all)."

"If, and I say if", said Mr. Monroe, "that happens, then we can look for that sacrifice (like the Passover) to be repeated six months later .  If it is not done this year -- it will be at least a year away -- it must `cog' on a Passover -- that is the only for-certain milestone at this point."

Sam interjected, "-- I don't see how it can not be this year!"

"True, Sam", said Mr. Monroe, "I feel the same way, but remember that God's ways are not our ways.  In His time it will happen -- right on schedule -- His schedule!  I do agree though -- sure looks good for this year."

There was a short time of quiet while everyone `chewed' on all the heavy duty morsels that had been coming to them in this discussion.

Rachel broke the silence  again, asking, "-- then what we are seeing -- people -- King David, etc, are all just pre-cursors to the main event!"

"That's it Rachel, you've got it, I do believe.  In effect,

Israel's 2,000 years of silence is over, -- her clock is back to ticking -- all the players will  soon be in place --  Daniel's 70th Week of special testing for Israel is soon to start."

"Hey", said Rachel, "-- you have just shifted emphasis to Daniel -- I assume that's the Prophet Daniel?"

"Right, Rachel -- remember, we said (at least I think we did) that Ezekiel has the pre-cursor information to Daniel's.  Ezekiel via the Prince brings in the establishing of the Daily Sacrifice -- this may actually happen this year (maybe not) -- but if it does, it will probably be just after the October 10th `Passover' -- remember, that is the sacrifice repeated six months later (i.e., six months after the normal Passover)."

"But, beware, dear friends", -- Harold became very serious, -- "remember what King David said just this morning -- Israel will yet follow another who they think is their Messiah -- but is not.  He will do even miracles which will convince many.  I say again, -- beware."

"This impostor will probably come on the scene in a major way just after the Daily Sacrifice is set up, for this rascal will try to put down the Daily Sacrifice. Jacob, I suspect he may try to push a law through the Knesset, probably some 1010 days after the Daily Sacrifice is established."

"You get that from the Prophet Daniel's writings?" asked Rachel.

"That's right", said Mr. Monroe, "God's Word is very specific in this area -- I'll be glad to show you later  -- even give you a little paper I've prepared.  Yes, Rachel -- it is awesome!!!"

Phoebe broke her normal silence, having become very engrossed in these activities -- actually she knew a lot of it from previous discussions with Harold, but in general she shied away from direct participation: "It truly is awesome", she said, "but really, we haven't seen anything yet. It will really `blow us away' as we progress through the  next 4 to 6 years, right?"

"Right, honey, -- serious and trying times for almost everyone, especially for Israel as she is reestablished, cleansed, and groomed for her Messiah.  Israel must be a beautiful and clean Bride for the Messiah!!!"

Sadie in her own little way asked, "Mr. Monroe, what should we do? -- should Sam and I  still come over --  immigrate?"

"Sadie", Mr. Monroe  interjected, "I'm not going to start acting as God here -- you and Sam must seek God's will for your life -- He will direct you, -- if you ask Him!  He will, you know! Each of us, every person in the world, has a responsibility in this matter.  It will be great to be here -- it will be tough to be here, -- it will have real highs and lows. Never a more exciting time in all history."

Looking at his watch, Harold sees it is already 1:15 p.m.-- they had all eaten their lunch -- actually a very tasty chicken salad (or was if tuna, Harold thought) and bagels with iced tea -- yet I doubt if anyone could tell you what they had eaten.  It could have been straw.  All had been 100% (or more) engrossed in their discussion.

Jacob nodded, as he confirmed the time, saying, "I must get back to the Knesset for the 2 p.m. session. Thanks for including me in your `group'. Please, he said, keep us in mind at the Knesset, we need to be alert to God's ways -- there are all sorts of pressures related to King David and  the others.  Let me hear from you please.  Shalom",  he said, as he turned and left.

Mr. Monroe asked for the check from the waiter. "Oh", he said, "Mr. Levi took care of that for all of you."

The remaining part of the `group' exclaimed in unison how nice and also sneaky that was!  With that, they decided to head back to their rooms.

 Chapter 9:     Questions Answered

As she left with the Monroe's, Rachel asked pointedly: "Harold,  please review the skipped 2,000 year period -- and why did you say Israel's  `clock' was stopped for that time?"

Sam also stretched the question to indicate, " why God would do so?"

Harold noted that this was a vital area to  discuss, but he said "I'm not sure you dear people are ready to discuss it -- although I think the recent events are certainly tempering you to this subject."

"Harold, does this impact us because of our differences? " Rachel asked.  "You believe Messiah has already been here some 2,000 years ago, and you believe He will return soon, while we deny it, and look for Him for the first time?"

"Yes, Rachel that kind of sums up the  dilemma -- but there are reasons -- God has a plan, a sometimes very difficult and tough to understand plan."

Sadie sensed Harold's reticence to continue, -- she ventured, "-- we understand that there must be some difficult things for you to discuss with us -- we are Jewish, and I suspect this fact and related problems are restricting you. Right?  Well, I for one want you to be completely open and candid with me!"

"Thanks,  Sadie, -- I think you dear people know that you have found a very strong place in our hearts and lives in just these few short days.  Phoebe and I both have a real love for each of you -----------  yes", Harold continued (after clearing his throat -- he was obviously deeply touched) "these are difficult areas to fully understand -- and perhaps even more difficult to explain."

"Remember that you referred to that  quotation: to `study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be  ashamed -- rightly dividing the word  of truth' ".

"Sadie, Rachel, -- Sam, - it doesn't always come easily -- and it is easy to go off on a tangent -- if you are not very careful.  You must ask God to teach you -- to guide you.  It is never wrong to ask the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to verify anything -- I mean anything in life -- large or small."

Rachel asked pointedly, "Harold, tell us how you see it, please -- we love you guys too,  we know you will be truthful and also tell us in love."

"Please", Sam stressed, "-- we must know how this really fits -- how we as Jews should act or react -- please give us your insight."

"Well, -- ah, -- ok, but we, Phoebe and I, want to be sure that nothing we say will do anything but increase our love for each other and, as far as that's concerned, for Israel and all her very special ones. Ok? -- agreed?"

Receiving their nods of approval, -- Harold (after looking carefully at Phoebe for a few seconds, she nodding her approval with a concerned `bite' of her lower lip) said: "I'll be glad to review the scriptural history (really His-Story) with you."

Harold noted, "actually, I'll be the most blessed, because somehow God always opens new  and wonderful truths (yet old) to us every time we go seriously to His Word."

"Where to start?", Harold commented aloud, "-- well, you know that the Prophet Ezekiel and the Prophet Daniel lived about 2500 years ago --- using the Gregorian calendar notation we'd say they lived 550 BC.

They were actually in the last quarter or so of that important period for Israel."

"Going back to the beginning", Harold said, "from Genesis, the first book of the Bible (also the first book which Moses wrote under God's direction -- you have this as the first book of the Pentateuch) we see God's `signature' in promises for the salvation of mankind. This particularly became important after Adam and Eve failed the first test for all of mankind.  Man was separated from God -- could not be restored to God directly."

Harold paused a second or two, "-- you know, he said, it might be good right here to  ask ourselves a question or two: -- what is God's plan for man? -- what could man provide that angels could not?

-- why did God allow the angels to rebel? -- for Lucifer to become prideful -- for 1/3 of the angels to follow  him in rebellion to God?"

"It is important", continued Harold, "for us to see this from God's perspective -- after all, it is His Story!"

Rachel prompted, "- yes, that must be very important -- not to mention fulfilling."

"Well, dear ones", Harold continued, "the angels God had created only partially met His need for fellowship -- He desired to establish a method whereby true two-way fellowship, respect, and love could occur. Angels could not -- they were essentially `robots' until God later  apparently gave them a measure of freedom of expression, within which they `blew it'. They failed the test; Lucifer fell to pride, 1/3 of the angels turned from God to follow Lucifer."

"God `snapped the cord' on the angels -- Lucifer was thrown out of heaven (from God's domain) unto the earth.  God renamed Lucifer, Satan.  The fallen angels were thrown out of heaven (probably into outer darkness in chains -- `orbits' awaiting final judgment)."

Harold took a deep breath, "you know", he said, "this represents more than God just venting His wrath -- He is establishing a `polarization of Powers' -- Satan as the negative or bad influence -- God  Himself as the positive, good  influence."

"With this situation established", Harold continued, "God then created man.  Man is given free will, the ability to select key issues -- he will  be tested. Actually, ever since Adam, every person that came into the world has been tested against this matrix of power -- good and evil.  God providing the positive (good) forces  and Satan the negative (evil) forces."

     "Quite a plan, right Sam?"

"Whew, I guess", said Sam, "-- it starts to put things in order though."

Rachel, being anxious, broke in, " - please Mr. Monroe, please tell us the rest."

     "All right, Rachel, --"

"We", Harold said, "already noted that Adam and Eve failed their test -- Satan  succeeded in beguiling them.  He won the first battle, but God will win the war!"

"Man from Adam and Eve until Abraham, lived as individuals before God. God tested them under various regimens -- some call these various stages: innocence, human government, flood, etc.  These passed the test only when they believed God and did what He asked them to do -- but not many passed."

"The rest of the story", said Harold, "you should tell me! -- but just so we are on common ground I'll tell it as I  understand it and you give me your insight's) as desired. Ok? "  They all nodded `yes'.

"With Abraham", Harold continued, "-- God first adopted a family -- actually, because Abraham believed God and separated from his idol worshiping family as God asked, God promised he would be the father of many nations.  That has come true in Isaac as well as in Ishmael, for Abraham was the father of both."

"Isaac, you know", reminded Harold, "had Esau and Jacob -- Jacob was a rascal and tricked Esau out of his birthright, so Jacob  became the heir apparent to Isaac. As a result of a special encounter Jacob had with God's representative -- Jacob was honored by being renamed Israel! -- again receiving the promise which God had given previously to his father Isaac and his grandfather Abraham."

"Well sir", -- Harold continued after just a moment to catch his breath, "Jacob loved Rachel and in the process of getting her he was tricked into taking the older sister Leah also. -- The plot thickens", Harold said, "-- and in God's wisdom He allowed only Leah to bear children at first -- six actually (including Judah). Rachel gave Jacob her handmaiden to have children for her -- a quaint surrogate type custom of that day.  She had  two, then as Leah became barren, she gave Jacob her handmaiden -- good for two, then Rachel had two (Joseph and Benjamin). These twelve children of Jacob are at least the titular heads of the twelve tribes of Israel.  God used this `competitive' situation and four women (not the normal one wife situation that God normally insists on)  to establish this very important leadership `team'."

"I sometimes wonder", Harold continued, "if God didn't allow this just to be sure that the `genetic purity' thing didn't out weigh His main fellowship rationale -- `faith' (obedience to God's Power manifested to you)."

"Well now, sweetheart", Harold turned  to Phoebe, "why don't you carry the story for awhile."

Phoebe was a little taken by surprise, but after a brief thought, said, "Ok!"

"As you know", Phoebe said, "-- Israel went through a number of situations on the way to the land promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- actually, including capture and servitude in Egypt, etc."

"Moses of the tribe of Levi was selected by God to lead Israel out of Egypt", Phoebe continued, "-- you know the story, -- involving the true  Passover and it's great symbolic message commemorating God's salvation as He protected them from the death angel.  You recall that the death angel struck the first born of any home that did not have the blood of the Passover Lamb on the door posts and lintel."

"I hope you realize", said Phoebe, "that we are probably going to see Israel as a nation celebrating the Passover soon --  sacrificially!! -- a first after almost 2000 years without it!!"

Phoebe continued, "-- Moses was also used as the instrument of God to bring the Law to Israel -- the ten commandments (not ten options!!)."

"The form of Israel's worship became structured, -- they wanted to be like other nations who had kings; God, after using Judges to maintain order, gave them their king. King Saul was impressive in a non‑impressive way, -- David, as God's man, was later anointed King of Judah by Samuel the Prophet.  We have just seen a reenactment of that great event in the Knesset just yesterday -- the Prophet Samuel again anointed David King -- this time of all Israel (not just Judah as before). I hadn't really realized that before, Harold, until just now -- King of all of Israel!!"

Phoebe further noted: "King David uniquely spoke of the coming Messiah -- the Just One -- The King of Kings!"

"The law provided a reference for man to gauge himself with -- an excellent mirror to clearly appraise man of his limitations. But, nobody was ever able to fully keep the law -- and Satan was always quick and eager to keep man off balance.  Actually he helps man to fail to keep the law."

"You know, of course", Phoebe interjected, "the law is too perfect, -- no mere man can fully keep it.  It's a great mirror for us, it makes it clear that indeed, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

"In God's grace -- wanting to find those that would truly love Him -- He fulfilled His prophesies concerning Messiah -- He came to earth in human form (an ignominious reduction from His past glory) -- to live, die, be resurrected (the first fruit) --- and later to come again."

"Unfortunately for Israel, fortunate for we gentiles, the leaders of Israel did not recognize  their Messiah coming as a servant -- although the scriptures clearly note this (perhaps this is easier for us to see now  because we are all great `Monday morning quarterbacks', are we not! They expected Him to come in POWER AND GREAT GLORY!! -- and that He will do, but not until His return -- yes, not until then."

"In effect", Phoebe continued, "-- He came for the rest of the world -- for Harold and me, etc. -- allowing Israel to have a `rest' in the rear pew so to speak."

"Harold", Phoebe looked at her husband, "I think you should complete the story."

"Ok, honey, -- well, -- ostensibly for rejecting the Messiah, and even pressuring for his crucifixion, Israel as a nation and people  was slipped into neutral gear. Mind you, this was/is all part of God's great plan for sorting out the `stout hearted' -- those that really love Him."

"This process", Harold points out, "was/is tough on Jews. They are really treated rough -- `hit about the head and shoulders' so to speak -- killed by the millions -- indeed extreme. But, the process brought salvation to those of us gentiles that otherwise had no hope. No Hope!! None.  But, as God has opened that door to us, many have received His provision. -- many others have not!"

"Interestingly, the Word of God even tells us that He (God) will also use the gentiles through jealousy to touch and restore Israel."

"You know", Harold mused, "-- we really need to look at God's plan in broad brush -- see if we can get His perspective on an overview basis.  We really need to know where we are and perhaps where He is taking us."

"Let's highlight the milestone of this plan -- it will help to see it.  Running as we are, `Monday morning quarterbacks' -- here is how it looks:

     Remember -- the first 2,000 years of man, God dealt with individuals;  Adam and Eve, Job, Noah, etc (from Adam to Abraham);    -- the second 2,000 years of man,  God   dealt  with the  nation of Israel (Abraham to Messiah);

-- the third  2,000 years of man,  God has again   dealt  with individuals, based on  each one accepting His provision through  the Messiah.

-- the seven-year testing of Israel (Daniel's 70th week of years) -- is probably a part of the last 2,000 years of man.  It is a special favor to the whole house of Israel, a process to prepare those of true Israel (those in the faith) to be the Bride of Messiah. A truly mysterious affiliation -- but within the bounds of God's desire to establish mutually responsive love relationships."

"Let's backup for a bit", Harold suggested, "-- while Israel's clock was stopped (this  has lasted about 2,000 years), Messiah has drawn individuals to Himself by faith, -- bringing those of the true faith in Him, into His `Body' (yet another mystery)."

"We now see", ventured Harold, "how gracious and complete our God is -- bringing 6,000 years of `searching' on His part to an end. An amazing story, yes --- but ours is one amazing God!!!"

Rachel couldn't contain herself any longer, she had to interject her "-- AWESOME!!"

"That is certainly true too, Rachel", Harold noted.  "All that we are seeing here today so far verifies God's love for both Israel and the Church.  First the Messiah will gather the Church to Himself to mystically bring the Church into a `physical/spiritual union' with Himself -- He as the Head, the Church as His Body.  Next the Messiah will mystically join Himself with Israel as His Bride."

We understand from the Prophet Daniel that the gathering of the Church will be just after the center of the 70th Week of Daniel takes place, actually about 45 days after the Abomination of Desolation takes place.  It is really exciting, for this could happen in about 6.7 years from now, if all continues as we have been experiencing the fulfillments of prophesies these last few days.-- it is close at hand at any rate."

"Israel must wait", Harold explained, "an added 3-1/2 years for her `Coronation' with her King, her Messiah -- but what a day that will be for all that are 'in the faith' -- those that are of true Israel -- the true Bride of Christ".

"Mr. Monroe", Sadie exclaimed, "-- is it really that firmly structured -- is there some room for differences or variations?"

"You are very perceptive", Sadie, "and it does all sound rather pat --, but", Harold volunteered, "there are indeed a number of areas of question -- and we must be very open and available to accommodate God's immense creative variations."

"What Phoebe and I have just told you", said Harold, "is an overview which represents our `best shot' right now -- we are sure that with God's dynamic creativity we will see some significant improvements. We must confess that the glass is still a bit dark that we are looking through -- but it seems to be `defogging' very fast.  In His time it will be perfectly clear. Certainly we are seeing much clearer now than we (mankind) did a  thousand or even 100 or even ten years ago, -- right?"

"That is certainly true", said Sam, "from my standpoint -- I was in  complete darkness on most of this until just the last few days!"

Rachel mused almost inaudibly, "-- oh what a plan our great God has brought about, has allowed us to start to see and experience `with Him'."

Sadie was so filled with joy over these matters that she just moved quickly between Harold and Phoebe giving them both a loving  squeeze and `peck' on their cheeks. "Oh", Sadie said, "sorry for such a display on my part!"

"Not at all, Sadie", Phoebe said, giving her a close squeeze in return, "both Harold and I loved that demonstration of your love for us. We praise our Lord that He has not only broken down communications barriers between us but has also built up a wonderful Love bond -- this is His Agape love that transcends any or all of mans' problems, if we are open to His leading."

Rachel propelled herself into this small `circle' and Sadie reached out to make room for Sam also.

"Mr. Monroe", Rachel ventured almost hesitantly for her, "-- can Jews such as we , she pointed to Sam, Sadie and herself, really know the Messiah -- like you and Phoebe  seem to?  You once said something about `completed' Jews!?"

"Dear Rachel, bless your sweet and sensitive heart", Harold almost  whispered, "that is what life is all about -- to find and know Him.  That is His purpose, that is His plan.  Phoebe and I praise the Lord He has brought us all together and you to this great understanding."

"Yes", Harold continued, "-- anyone that believes that Jesus came to die for their SIN, accepts Him as their only Savior with no reservations (a heartfelt transaction with God) is made a child of God by God. They become a member of His family.  Very special are those that are Jewish -- they have special blessings -- they are twice blessed, completed as a Jew and firmly planted in Him."

"You know", Harold said, "it is an interesting thing to consider those that are both in the Body (the Church) and are at least legally most favored ones. -- perhaps they will form a special bonding between the two." part of the Bride.  Whatever it is, it seems to bring special joy to those

"I believe Jesus died for me", Rachel said, "and I want to claim Him as my personal Savior.  Can I do that?"

"Oh wow", said normally reserved Harold, with Phoebe following suite almost immediately, "-- this is wonderful, Rachel, all that is needed is for you to tell God that you know you have fallen short of His mark -- have sinned in many ways -- and that you ask the Lord Jesus Christ to cleanse you and to come into your heart.  He will do it. As verification of this to you, He will leave His Holy Spirit there for your assurance, instruction and help."

"That  is certainly my desire", said Rachel. "Would you help me?"

Phoebe put her arm around Rachel, bowed her head and very simply asked, "Father God, meet this dear girls heartfelt cry. Rachel, simply pray for His forgiveness."

Rachel, with head bowed, tears of joy trickling down her face, told the Lord, "I admit my sins, and I need to be reconciled to you Father -- please come into my innermost being, make me  a completed  person in You -- a completed Jew."

At that point, Rachel experience God's forgiveness of her sins and the reconciliation that she had longed for -- between God and herself.

Rachel said, "Oh thank you Lord", for she felt His forgiveness of her sins as if a great mill stone was taken from her back.  Her  reconciliation with her God came as a flood of love for  everyone, as His Holy Spirit indwelt her and shared His great Agape Love.

Sam and Sadie said, " -- we don’t feel ready just yet to make such a commitment, but we are genuinely glad for Rachel".

Harold and Phoebe assured them that in God's time they too would desire that above anything else in life.  Harold said, this is really the only `bottom line' that matters in life.

Sam answered, "I really know that to be true, Mr. Monroe, and I want it more than anything".  "Me too", said Sadie!

"If that is really true", said Rachel, "then why don't you ask Him now?  It is glorious to know that your sins are forgiven and that He is in your life."

Harold and Phoebe both were taken aback at Rachel's boldness and sureness -- praising God that indeed He had done a complete job on her!

Sam and Sadie both bowed their heads and together asked that God forgive their sins, reconcile them to Himself by the Lord Jesus Christ --, Sam interjected, "our Messiah!!" Tears had welled in their eyes as their sins were forgiven, obvious relief as that great burden left them -- but as God's Holy Spirit came in to complete the reconciliation act, both just hugged and burst into tears of joy.  They had held back for so long, desiring to really know. Didn't feel it could happen.  But now it has!!

Rachel  embraced them both together, as did Harold and Phoebe. There were real tears of joy from all in the `circle' -- this part of the `group' had experienced God moving in their lives in a very special way. Their common bond in the Messiah was no longer strained, it was rather the drive for their new found unity. Each had placed their trust completely in their Messiah..

"Wow oh Wow" -- squealed Rachel -- "Wow of Wow !!!"  Continuing to hug every one in the `group'.

Both Harold and Phoebe were now so moved by this desired but totally unexpected turn of events --

Sam and Sadie were still riding high on their new found love for their Messiah -- He was now not just an object of study or speculation -- He was indeed a part of each of their lives.

With this new found love came an  insatiable appetite to know more about Him -- to find those areas that they had `missed'.  It was added joy for Harold and Phoebe to lead them into God's Word, showing where they could find the information the easiest and grow in this new found friend.

Time had sped by, it was now approaching 5:15 p.m.  "-- boy time sure flies by when you praise the Lord", Harold noted!! "We must be going."

"By the way", Phoebe added, "let's all pray that we will each be just exactly where Our Lord wants us to be over these next few days."

Rachel wouldn't let them go until they had set a time to get together again -- they all agreed to meet in the morning for breakfast at the Little Jerusalem Restaurant, 7 am.

Chapter 10:   Consultants to the Knesset?

Phoebe  and  Harold  had  barely  arrived at their room when  Jacob called -- he was quite upset and excited -- as he said, "these things don't make any sense --.  We at the Knesset," he continued, "apparently need some fresh inputs."

"Mr. Monroe,-- Harold, -- We, I, need to pick your brain a bit -- could we have dinner together tonight?  I'd really like to have Phoebe there too. I really need to talk to you folks."

"I believe so, Jacob", said Harold, "just let me check with Phoebe for a second."

"Honey, Jacob wants to talk to us over dinner. Is that ok?"

"I'm pretty tired", Phoebe faintly replied.

"Well Honey, why don't you stay in and have your dinner brought up to you!"

"No", --- Phoebe  replied, "I don't want to miss anything -- I've got a feeling this will be very interesting."

"Jacob, It's fine, we will both be delighted to meet with you."

"Great", said Jacob, "-- let's meet at my favorite little restaurant, the International Restaurant, just two blocks north of your Jerusalem Hotel front door.  Would 7 p.m. be ok?"

"That will be just fine, Jacob, we are both looking forward to seeing you again."

"Great, see you there. Shalom",  said Jacob as he hung up the phone.

"Harold", Phoebe said, "what do you think he wants to talk about?"

"Well", said Harold,  "he mentioned that the Knesset was having great difficulties with the occurrences of this morning, and we seem to have good insight into some of these things, and he would like to have our inputs."

"Hummm", said Phoebe, "very interesting, consultants to the Knesset! Great,-- ha, ha, -- Wow!"

Phoebe had expressed both her amazement and her nervousness in her laughter and exclamations.

"Easy, Honey", said Harold, "I'm not too sure of that, but it will be good to get together with Jacob and I'm also sure we'll gain  a lot from the discussions."

"You know", said Phoebe, "here it is just Wednesday evening and it seems like we have been here for weeks -- things have been happening so fast.  Absolutely in machine gun like rapidity."

"And tomorrow", said Harold, "it looks like it will be wild also, -- they are supposed to get back in the evening with the Tabernacle.  Won't that be something to see and experience!"

"Wow", said Phoebe, "that is something.  Can you imagine, the original traveling tabernacle,  -- that dates back a few years, doesn't  it!"

"Ummmm, let's see, said Harold, that would be back to Moses' time -- about 1500 BC -- that is pretty old.  I wonder what shape it will be in."

"Remember", said Phoebe, "this area is fairly dry, and like the Dead Sea Scrolls, perhaps it will be in pretty good shape."

"Yes", said Harold, "probably depends on how much oxidation has occurred -- certainly God is able to protect it if that is His desire."

Harold interjected another little item, "-- even if the tapestries and other coverings were not available, just having the frames and posts, etc. would probably be adequate.  It would also give these people a way to extend their praise to God -- allowing them to recover it to His glory."

"Yes", said Phoebe, "that is truly going to be exciting. Yet, the things we have already seen -- the Mosque destroyed rather specifically (as if by the finger of God performing delicate surgery) -- truly amazing."

"Yes", said, Harold, "and seeing the Prophet Samuel, King David, Moses, Jacob, the Prophet Ezekiel, and the Prophet Daniel, was no minor set either!"

"That is certainly true", said Phoebe, "yet, the Temple and related activities have been such a driving factor with the Jew and Israel that it is a little hard to know which would take  precedence with them."

"Actually", Harold interjected, "it all fits together so  tightly that it really doesn't matter -- "

"True", said Phoebe, "glancing at her watch -- hey, she said, "we had better get ready to go."

"Oh", said Harold, "we have plenty of time -- why don't you take one of your famous naps to get your battery recharged and then we can get ready, ok."

"Well, let's see", Phoebe calculate out loud, "if you get me up by 6:15  p.m.  we can be ready to leave for the restaurant by 6:45 I would think."

"Great, Honey, go get your rest!"

With that Harold moved over to the window, where he could see part of Jerusalem.  His wonder increased as he realized how strong the earthquake had been, yet how little damage had been done to Jerusalem itself.  Of  course, the Mosque of Omar was flattened, as by God's finger striking a careful blow then skipping outside the eastern wall scribing a rift like chasm easterly (only slightly northerly), out to the line of the Jordan. The energies were devastating -- the easterly valleys, including the Garden of Gethsemane and most of the elaborate `edifices' to the east, were literally leveled -- as if constructing a vast arterial freeway bed. The Jerusalem Post had said the Richter rating was set initially at 7.2 --- not surprisingly so, mused Harold.

Harold glanced at his watch, surprised he had allowed Phoebe to nap a little too long, -- it was now already 6:25 -- they would have to move a little bit faster.

"Honey", he said, "as he tried to gently rouse her --"

"Oh ----", said Phoebe,  "I was really in that deep pit -- it took a while for me to get my bearings."

"Honey, I let you over sleep -- we're going to have to scurry right along -- can you get ready in 20-minutes?"

"I think so", Phoebe said, "as she headed towards the bathroom to freshen up a bit."

Harold was already running his battery operated electric razor over his face -- just to eliminate the old five O'clock shadow.

As Phoebe moved to the dressing table, Harold finished his    refreshing by washing his face in cold water and applying his  after shave lotion.

Boy, he thought, that was really refreshing, hope it helps to keep me alert -- this has been such a full and eventful day I'm just about out of energy. -- the old adrenalin had better kick in.

Now they were both ready -- actually Phoebe looked cool and calm,  but she said she was really bubbling with anticipation of an exciting evening.

Harold noted it was just 6:48, -- "I think if we walk on over to the restaurant we will be right on time."  As they were leaving, Harold tucked his  Bible into his coat pocket -- he had a hunch it would be needed before this evening was through.

As they were going  through the lobby of the hotel, a late edition of the Jerusalem Post was just being delivered.  Harold bought a copy --

The headlines laterally shouted that the Tabernacle had been  located and would be delivered to the Temple mount tomorrow.  They continued reading as they strolled towards the restaurant.

The article indicated that the Tabernacle and temple structural members were in remarkably good condition -- even some of the tapestries and drapes could be hung.

"That is truly remarkable -- fantastic", said Phoebe.

"Yes", said Harold, "our dear Rachel would say --"

     "Awesome, just AWESOME", interjected Phoebe.

They both laughed over that, "yet, truly", Harold said, -- "we are in a very remarkable situation here. Really, my fondest dreams coming true!!"

Just as they strolled up to the entrance of the restaurant, they heard Jacob behind them from the curb, -- he had just parked his car and was hurrying to catch up with them.

"Shalom, Shalom", he greeted them --

"Shalom, Jacob", they both said in unison.

"Thanks for meeting me, both of you". As they moved on into the building, he continued -- "it is always delightful to be with you, but this is more than just social --".

At that moment they were greeted by a very charming young lady in full Israeli garb, with bangles and blossoms adding color to her already beautiful dress -- saying, "Shalom Mr. Levi, we have your table ready for you -- right this way please".

With that they were carefully seated with Jacob in the corner, and Phoebe on one side and Harold on the other.

Harold noted that they were by themselves, separated by at least one table from all other guests of the restaurant.  Maybe part of Jacob's plan to keep this meeting as private as possible. For sure, Jake, from his corner observation position, could control the conversation to minimize being overheard.

Harold commented to Jacob, "our little `group' has certainly been a source of joy as well as stimulation for us -- and we have particularly enjoyed your part with us."

"Well", said Jacob," we want to add to your enjoyment here in Israel, but even more than that, we want you to be a part of our team and we yours. -- You certainly", Jacob continued, "seem to have a vital interest in what is happening here."

"You are observant", Harold said, "we came here for a pleasant trip, but we will go home with much more than we had expected.  It is really fantastic!"

Phoebe interjected, "-- yes, even more than we could have thought in our wildest dream!"

Jacob laughed, "Yes, I can't get over Rachel's resounding -- 'AWESOME!’, it really is you know!"

Phoebe agreed, "yes, truly -- awesome."

"Ok, let see, -- the menu here is great -- let me order for all of us, -- trust me??"

"Sure", said Phoebe, "we eat almost anything as long as it isn't too spicy-hot!"

"Great", said Jacob, as he with a flourish beckoned to the waiter and placed the order, including ice tea which he received nods of approval for. "Maybe we'll have coffee later." he said.

"Ok, -- now that we have the important things taken care of," -- he, laughed a bit, " perhaps I should let you know why I particularly wanted  to meet with you tonight."

"I'd like to ask you a couple of questions."

     "Shoot", said Harold.

"Well", -- said Jacob, "not just sure where to start, --- so  will just dive in the middle and we'll have to sort it all out as we go."

"Sounds good", said Harold, "-- dive right in!"

"Well", said Jacob "you were at the Knesset this morning, you saw the various people that presented themselves and their agendas for particular actions. You also heard the decision of the Knesset for Israel to take over the southern part of Lebanon.  Actually, said Jacob, this last move seems very natural, a good solution to that very bad civil-war which has essentially "killed" the Lebanese government, it is basically non-existent. Even the response of the United Nations to the border change is being heralded as a positive move to bring peace back to that land."

"But", he continued, "-- we are frankly at a loss to deal with  these `people' that are making these fantastic statements.  What do you make of this Harold."

The waiter brought their salads together with a tray of four different dressings -- this caused barely a ripple in the conversation.

"Jacob", Harold said, "there are prophesies in God's Word which are very definite about these particular matters."

"You believe they apply to now?" our parliamentarian almost whispered around a bite of salad, chewing rapidly to get his next word out.

"Yes", Harold affirmed, "it appears so!"

"Can you sometime show me where and how?"

"Let's do it right now", Harold said,  pulling his small Bible out of his coat pocket.

     "Great, Jacob enthusiastically responded."

"Jacob, the very land that you folks are annexing via United Nations help -- it completes the End Time land Israel is to have. --- up to about the parallel of Damascus, down the Jordan River, across the south at Tamar (just south of the Dead Sea)  up the brook of Egypt to the Mediterranean Sea. Let that soak in -- for the first time in over 2,000 years, Israel has the End Time land."

"Wow", said Jacob, "We are playing right into the End Time situation without really knowing it!!"

"That is certainly right", Harold said -- getting Phoebe's nod of approval to that statement.

"Now the Prophet Ezekiel's writings, see right here, Jacob, Ezekiel 45, can (now) take place (for the first time ever, this is now possible -- it may be later, but it is possible NOW)."

"How do you get that?" -- said Jacob.

"Look here in Ezekiel 45, the prophet has been given (now over 2500 years ago) these great truths -- see, here in chapter 45 and verse 1, right here", points Harold. "It says how to divide the land -- setting aside first an oblation area to God (25,000 Reeds by 25,000 Reeds --). That works out to be about 52 miles by 52 miles on a side."

"By the way, Jacob, this particular Bible is the King James version.  and it is quite accurate in translating from the Greek, in fact, I believe it is more accurate than most modern translations since it is very careful in it's use of measures such as the Reed, the CUBIT, and the cubit. This position is proved by scripture also."

"Can you give me a meaningful overview", Jacob asked. "Maybe we can get into the details later."

"Sure", Harold said, "at least we can try."

"The Prophet Ezekiel notes that when you do this, here is how you do it.  First setting aside the oblation area noted earlier."

"Then", Harold continued, "the prophet states in the 47th chapter the 13th verse,  right here Jacob", Harold points for Jacob, "it says: 'thus saith the Lord God, this shall be the border whereby ye shall inherit the land -- etc'  It goes on to give in the 15th verse the north border, the east border in verse 18, the south border in verse 19, and the west border in verse 20.  This basically covers the total area to be divided per 45:1 as we noted earlier."

"Incredible", said Jacob, "as of this morning we now have all of that land!!"

"Right", said Harold, "-- you can now imagine how I felt this morning when your parliament voted to take southern Lebanon under Israeli jurisdiction."

"But, what does it really mean -- `when you divide the land'?", asked Jacob.

At that moment the waiter appeared with their main courses,    beautifully prepared food -- obviously some of Jacob's favorite dishes.

"Hope you both enjoy this", Jacob said.

They both said it certainly looked delicious.

After a short period of jousting with the various dishes, there were adequate breaks to allow for conversation.

Harold found one such spot and brought the conversation back on track.

"Back to the land being divided", Harold said between bites, "you are quite right. When you divide the land you are to start this way -- first, set aside a portion, the Oblation area, to God -- it is to be 25,000 Reeds by 25,000 Reeds square (this is confirmed later in chapter 48 verse 20). By the way, Jacob, the Reed is a measure made up of six(6) CUBITS, actually six of the Royal Cubits. The Royal Cubit being a standard cubit plus a hand.  Normally, the standard cubit is taken to be 18 inches, about the length of a small man's forearm, elbow to finger-tip.  The "hand" in width is normally taken to be 4 inches.   Then you can see that the Royal Cubit is 18" plus 4" or a total of 22".  The Reed is now six of these Royal Cubits, or 22" times 6 giving 132" or 11 feet.  25,000 of these Reeds is then 25,000 times 11 feet or 275,000 feet which converts to just over 52 miles when you divide the 275,000 by 5280 ft per mile."

"Incidentally, this is essentially exactly the distance from the  Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan river at the latitude of Jerusalem."

"Umm", said Jacob, "I see -- it certainly fits doesn't it."

"Right", Harold continued, "-- and it gets better as we continue. The remaining land, after the oblation part is set-aside is to be divided to the 12-tribes of Israel."

"That is particularly interesting", mumbled Jacob, "since we no longer have 'tribes' and certainly not twelve."

"Right again", Harold chided, "but GOD!  Yes, God has a plan -- He will bring back the `whole house of Israel', there will be the need for places for them to gather.  Now, per Ezekiel, chapter 48 and verses 1-7 we see that seven of the tribes are to be located in the north part of the land, above the Oblation area. Then, similarly, the remaining five tribes are to be located in the southern part of the land, below the Oblation area -- see chapter 48 verses 23-28. By the way, Jacob, these tribal areas  just fit, that is, seven equal areas in the northern part and five of the same size in the south, just fit!!"

"That is interesting", Jacob mused, "-- it seems to corroborate the prophesy doesn't it?"

"Indeed it does", Harold said "-- you are really getting into this!"

"It is good to see this", Jacob commented, "I haven't read these passages for years -- certainly never saw this before."

"It is of particular interest, Jacob, to note that in verse 22 of the 48th chapter of Ezekiel, the Levites (sounds like your particular tribe, Jacob) and the Prince will occupy part of the Oblation Area -- this leaving two portions for Joseph (namely Manasseh and Ephraim)."

"What about that Prince", Jacob falteringly asked, "-- is he indeed King David, as that fellow said this morning?"

"Hey, they got your attention too -- yes", said Harold, "I believe so.  In fact, `that fellow', I am satisfied, is indeed King David resurrected.  Just as those others are  who he said they were -- Moses, Samuel, and Joseph."

"What do we do?" -- moaned Jacob. "We are really between the rock and the hard place!"

"You are certainly in an interesting place -- a place of FAITH!" -- Phoebe  interjected.

"That is really true", Harold noted, "-- a place that all Israel has prayed and pleaded for for generations. Your primary problem now is to do and be just what your God wants."

"That is hard to do, isn't it?" -- Jacob rejoined.

"Well", said Harold, "it shouldn't be, but then we humans tend to be disobedient rather than obedient!  I believe we really know His will, we just don't want to do it!  At this particular junction in the affairs of man and Israel, we and you are getting some rather pointed and specific guidance.  Will we take it or not?"

"That is indeed the question", Jacob rather pensively responded.

"Remember, Jacob", Harold continued, "-- God wants us to walk in FAITH -- that doesn't mean BLIND , -- rather, it means following His lead -- doing as He requests. It is always appropriate to seek His will and way -- ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find.  I know, Jake, you are feeling that age old stress of Jew to Gentile misunderstandings.  And, by the way, it is primarily misinformation. And, by the way (again),  there is not (at least should not be) -- bottom line -- that much stress between our groups."

"I'm not following you, Harold", Jacob inserted.

"Well, Jacob",  when you add it all up and come out to the end, you find Israel and the Church sharing the same Messiah -- slightly different roles but in the same eternity enjoying `our' God and His Messiah together.

It is not fully clear just what these relationships are, but they are close, as close as our own body is close to us, or as our wife is close to us.  Terrific, right."

"That certainly sounds great, although I confess I don't really  understand how it might happen!" -- Jacob submitted half frowning..

"True, Jacob,-- none of us really knows, we only see darkly now, but the indication is that this will clear up and we will see very clearly as time goes on.  The situation demands faith -- obedience to His leading.  Well, Mr. Levi, sir, -- we have covered some mighty potent areas, any other things we should discuss?"

"How would you handle King David, Harold?" --  asked  Jacob.

"Very carefully", Harold said, "-- a lot like the 800 lb gorilla, he sleeps wherever he wants to. Right?  Right!!"

"Jacob", Harold continued, "King David and any of these resurrected ones, have powers now that are unbelievable to us -- they can not be hurt or killed, they can be here or any place at will. They don't have to eat, although they can if so desired. They  can be touched or not as they desire.  How do we handle them  --  ??  Good question!!"

"Yes", Jacob almost whispered, "that is it! We must follow them -- do exactly as they say."

"That is certainly my recommendation, Jacob", Harold said. "God has shifted the gears on His program, -- we are in the End Time, we are going to see many wonderful things -- even greater than we have experienced to date."

"In effect", Harold continued, "we see the Prince essentially orchestrating these matters, leading eventually to the Messiah’s return."

"King David will push to get the  Tabernacle assembled -- you did see in the paper, here, we have a copy, -- they have  the tabernacle  and expect to have it here tomorrow night."

"No I hadn't seen that, -- wow, said Jacob, that does it -- that is  proof positive, right!!"

"Right you are, Jacob", said Harold, "that is certainly a strong `point on the curve'.  What a power curve we are on!!"

"I would guess they will get it assembled, at least in skeletal form, and start worshiping there this Sabbath -- starting preparations at 6 p.m. on Friday evening."

"I think you are right!!" Jacob exclaimed -- almost jumping out of his skin!  "Now that is truly  AWESOME!!!"

"Yes, and we can then expect Israel to be ready to celebrate the Passover with the lamb, sprinkling it's blood on the door posts and lintel -- just as in olden times!"

"Can I ask some pointed questions as to your position?", asked Jacob.

     "Sure", Harold replied.

"How do you Christians -- the church -- fit into this", Jacob ventured. "I see that there is a pattern developing here".

"You are right as rain Jacob, truly so -- for actually the Passover is a true picture of God's own lamb that He gave for us all. Unfortunately for the Jew and Israel, He was originally rejected primarily because He didn't fit their idea of a King.  He came as a servant, he came to die as `our Passover Lamb' -- He came to reconcile us to God. That He did and that He has been doing over the last 2,000 years. Being rejected by Israel/Judah, He turned to the gentiles."

"You certainly know that your old scriptures very clearly state He would do that, that is, open up His salvation and plan to the gentile".

"That has not been a major issue certainly in any of our Jewish considerations", Jacob noted.

"Jacob, we, Phoebe and I, and all true Christians, are very grateful to God for His plan that includes us, but we are also grateful for the Jew, for Israel, for it was through them that we received His Word, His plan, His power -- as He made it available to us through the Lord Jesus Christ (your and our Messiah) and His faithful disciples and apostles."

Jacob sat dumbfounded, completely  absorbed in thought, -- sitting for some time, letting these truths settle into his mind and understanding. Finally he shook all over and as if coming from a dream,  apologized for his lack of attention -- but that he had just been saturated, needed a moment or two of `sorting' time.

"Will this pace keep up forever?", Jacob asked.

"No", Harold said, "I think we will see a time of `soaking' for almost 6-months awaiting the repeat of the `Passover'.  You will notice in Ezekiel 45:21-25 that there are two periods of sacrifice, the second initiated 6-months and a day after the start of the other. But during that soaking time, Israel will be led to follow the wrong person -- the anti-messiah or anti-Christ as we call him. I think that earlier I noted to you that I would bet that this anti-messiah will try to `legislate' out the Daily Sacrifice that the Prince will start shortly after the second `Passover'. It appears he will get such an order in effect, but not with enough power to implement it, on/about 1010 days (2.7 years) later."

"Jacob, the scripture tells us that 1290 days after that order goes out, probably the anti-messiah will have gained strength and will actually take over in the temple of God proclaiming that he is God.  For some unknown and unstated reason Israel allows this anti-messiah to build in strength, yet, will reject him, will turn from him -- will understand the truth of the true Messiah and will gladly turn about and trust Him -- looking for His appearing about 3-1/2 years later."

"We, Phoebe and I, and of course all true Christians, are looking with great anticipation to our being gathered to meet our Savior, our Messiah, in the air -- in a special resurrection just after a 45-day Tribulation period which starts at the time the Abomination of Desolation occurs (that, Jacob is the same time the anti-messiah goes into the Temple of God and declares himself to be God).  In God's economy of time and things, He will somehow cleanse Israel through this process, looking for those that pass His test to come out of it as true Israel, the Bride of Messiah!"

"That is all pretty heavy", said Jacob.

"True, and that is only an overview as you requested", plied Harold, further noting, "this is a wonderful plan, one that includes Jew and Gentile -- providing very special and yet different situations for each. Indeed, providing an eternity for each,  with each  yet a mystery on it's own merits."

"Man alive", Jacob whistled, "this is getting wilder and wilder".

"Seems that way, doesn't it", replied  Harold, "but, this is what the Prophet Ezekiel states very clearly -- actually, all of this is keyed to `dividing the land' and the start of the Passover!"

"You mean", interjected Jacob. "If the land is divided and the  Passover actually starts this next Tuesday, that this will all follow?"

"That's it", said Harold, "everything seems set to go".

At that point, Phoebe could contain herself no longer, "Wow", she said.

"Wow, indeed", affirmed Jacob. "Now, just exactly what do we do with all of this information?"

"That too is a good question", Harold prompted, "but, for sure, if at all possible, you and others of your Knesset should meet with the Prophet Ezekiel and the Prophet Daniel to confirm these  schedules and find out if this is the time, if this is the year."

"Great idea", Jacob ventured after a brief time for thought, "I'll get right on that yet tonight -- but I wonder if these prophets can be reached?"

"That may be a significant problem", Harold noted, "but, the way our God has been providing us information, I can't help but feel this too will be available.  It certainly will be -- in His time".

They had all really finished their dinner, and were rather unconsciously toying with their food in between verbal entries.

At this juncture, Jacob volunteered, "I'm going to get right over to my office, -- I have my work cut out for me.  As I see it, we need to tie down a lot of loose ends".

"Be sure", Harold ventured, "that you seek God's will and way -- He will keep you on the right path if you seek His help!".

"From our discussions", Jacob said looking first to Harold then to Phoebe "I know that you folks are for real and know how to pray -- would you, -- ah, -- would you please remember all of us that must deal with this set of circumstances -- these problems?"

"That we will do", acknowledged Harold, along with Phoebe's        positive nod, "-- and even now, let's join our hearts in a brief prayer, ok?"

"That would be especially appreciated", Jacob said with real conviction.

With that, Harold and Phoebe bowed their heads, followed almost immediately by Jacob doing likewise, "Father", Harold said, "as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we come to you right here in this  restaurant, asking you to meet with Jake and the other leaders of Israel in a special way, allowing them to see clearly with their physical as well as innermost eyes of faith.  It would appear that the Prophet Ezekiel and the Prophet Daniel have added information that is needed -- we pray that you would bring all that is needed to their understanding.  We pray this all in the name of the Messiah -- even The Lord Jesus Christ".

"Thanks", said Jacob, "I must run now, Shalom -- Shalom"

 Chapter 11            Whew!

Harold and Phoebe just sat for a long time, she nestled against his shoulder. They were both obviously completely drained of energy.

"Whew", Phoebe finally ventured, "can you beat that for an evening".

"Not your run of the mill quiet  evening out to dinner", Harold agreed.

Harold looked at his watch, "9:38", he said, "let's get back to the hotel and see if we can get caught up on the news -- you know, we haven't heard anymore about the Hoover Dam Quake -- it was rather washed under the table with all the other activities here".

"Actually", Phoebe said, "we haven't had any contact with the outside world for several days -- since the quake here pretty much wiped out outside communications."

"That's right", Harold mused, "we do have some catching up to do -- let's go".

On their way out, Harold tried to pay the bill, only to find  that Jacob had already taken care of it.

"That was a great dinner", Harold said, "at least I think it was."

"Yes", Phoebe interjected, "I know what you mean -- we could have all been eating alfalfa hay and wouldn't have known the difference", she laughed.

"I know one thing", Harold ventured as they walked out into the balmy  night air, "this has been another eventful evening --  for sure”.  As they sauntered the two blocks back to their hotel they were  wondering what the morrow would hold.

"I'd venture to say that it will be fantastic", Harold said, "you know, honey, they are due back with the Tabernacle tomorrow evening and along with the praise and tumult they will initiate the assembly of the Tabernacle right away -- you can bet on it!"

"Don't you think this will stir them to also initiate several other things?", Phoebe questioned.

"You are probably right on the money there, honey", Harold beamed, "Wouldn't be a bit surprised if the whole set of dominoes weren't triggered by this".

"Then you do feel we will see at least the Land divided and the   Passover schedule confirmed?", Phoebe exclaimed excitedly.

"Yes", mused Harold rather pensively, "and I've got a sneaking suspicion we will be seeing more of `the whole house of Israel' too".

"Do you think", Phoebe queried, "that there will be a lot of verbal interchange between the Resurrected ones and the Knesset  leaders -- or will it be a rather unilateral `let's do it this way' kind of thing?"

"Probably more the latter", said Harold, "but it depends upon the mind sets encountered, and how strong the coalition against King David, et al has grown -- really,  only time will tell".

"Do you realize", said Phoebe, "this is the end of only our 4th 'vacation' day -- can you really believe that?"

"Not really", Harold conjectured, "this has definitely been one for the books".

"Yes", rejoined Phoebe, "really one for The Book, wouldn't you say?"

"You are right about that, honey -- and without doubt now, we have seen some very pointed verifications. No objective `critic' could deny these landmark milestones of fulfilled prophecies."

"Since when did objectivity become a criteria for the critic to use?", probed Phoebe.

"That is a good point too ", Harold noted, "we can't expect everyone to really see, -- ever -- although it seems so plain to us! -- there will ever be a contest -- Satan just won't let anything go too smoothly."

As they entered the hotel, they ran right into Rachel, with Sam and Sadie.

"We have been sharing and rejoicing over our new relationship with our Messiah, our Lord, even Jesus", Rachel blurted out.

"Yes", Sam interjected, "we have been reading The Word and just felt lonely to see both of you."

"That's right", verbalized Sadie as she gave Phoebe and Harold an affectionate hug, -- "and we felt we must express thanks to you two again tonight for being God's tools so effectively in our lives".

"You know", Rachel interjected, "we just can not believe everything that has happened to us and to Israel these last few days -- literally keep pinching myself to be sure I'm not dreaming".

"It is exciting", said Phoebe, "and even more has happened tonight while we were with Jacob for dinner".

"Oh", squealed Rachel, "what happened -- tell us before we pop!"

"Honey", Phoebe nudged Harold, "can you give them an overview?"

"I'm not sure I can stay coherent", Harold quipped, "but I'll try. --- first, Jacob called us to discuss these things -- we met for dinner and reviewed all the scriptures and inter-relationships as we see them occurring.  We didn't leave anything out --"

"You mean", Rachel softly squealed, "you even told him about our Savior being The Messiah, and all?"

"That's right", parried Harold, almost ducking the inevitable shrill squeal so characteristic of Rachel's enthusiasm, "but, he has made no decision -- yet, he is very with the program and alert to get the Knesset on the ball, and to see that God's will and way is given free reign. -- we all need to pray for him, that God will truly use him, and of course, that he will find the Savior soon."

"Young people", Phoebe interrupted, "as much as we love you and your enthusiasm, we are almost out on our feet -- we must get some rest in preparation for tomorrow."

"That is also correct", chided Harold, -- "we'll see you for breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Little Jerusalem Restaurant like we planned -- until then, God bless you richly as you fellowship with Him and together."

They all exchanged hugs and 'Shaloms' as the Monroe's slipped away to go to their room.

Sam and Sadie walked arm in arm down the street with Rachel, seeing her home.  At Rachel's apartment they went in to enjoy a brief time of prayer together.

Sam thought to himself how strange this was for him, he had always been stand-offish to anything approaching personal involvement like this, but now he felt drawn, yes compelled he thought, to have a part.

"Sam", Rachel ventured, "you are the man here, why don't you lead us in a time of prayer and praise before you dear guys have to go!"

"Ok", Sam said, just about 'blowing Sadie off her feet" in this unexpected turnabout of venue for Sam.  "Thank you Lord Jesus for entering my life -- for entering me! Thank you for being so patient with me -- and for your great plan for Israel that we are privileged to see more and more. Thank you Father! Thank you Lord Jesus! Thank you Father for giving us the Holy Spirit of promise, that we might have your leading and instruction.  We are full of your praise Father, our hearts are literally singing, we want to be used of you Lord!  Thanks, too", Sam continued, "for letting us meet the Monroe's -- thank you for using them to lead us to yourself.  I guess, Father, that had better be it for tonight -- In Jesus wonderful name, AMEN"

"Thanks Sam", said Rachel, "you certainly expressed my feelings too."

"Yes", echoed Sadie, "and I think the Lord is building me a really great spiritual leader in you Sam -- Praise His Holy Name."

With that, they all hugged again and Sam and Sadie slipped away to their own room at Sam's brother's place.

Chapter 12     The Tabernacle and Sacrifices

Rachel for some reason was awakened by the Islamic call to worship from the nearby mosque's prayer tower ‑‑ and after tossing and turning trying to get back to sleep, she gave up. Although it was really early she decided to get up and read her scriptures. She found it to be `a new ball game' since she had asked the Lord to be her Savior ‑‑ had invited Him into her life.  She noted this to be a very positive indication that something had really transpired between her and her Lord. Harold was sure right she mused, she certainly had clearer understanding ‑‑ that is an understatement, she thought, ‑‑ I couldn't make heads or tails of it before, now it is actually making sense to me!

    >----------------------------------------------------------------<

Sam and Sadie Cohen had been literally thrilled with their new found Messiah ‑‑ and their relationship with him. They even sensed a new quality in their love for each other ‑‑ they had a new purpose to their lives, they were less selfish ‑‑ and above all they had a very special love for the Lord Jesus Christ, their Messiah, who they had shunned all their lives.  Indeed "a new ball game" as Harold and Phoebe had said last night.  They too were disturbed by the Islamic call to prayer.  As Sam and Sadie were awakening, Sadie was nestled in her favorite spot with Sam's arm around her and her head on his chest. They  soon  realized that they would  be unable to return to sleep ‑‑ recounting the recent events, especially their decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Sam", Sadie whispered, "what do you suppose today holds for  us? ‑‑ for Israel?"

"I don't know for sure, but it appears we should think seriously of staying here ‑‑ immigrate  now!", Sam noted.

Sadie snuggled against him, "You know", she said, "I have been feeling that same way!"

"We'll look into it soon and make a decision before we have to leave", Sam replied.

"You know, honey", Sadie said, "It's early, but let's get up and have a time in the Word ‑‑ I really  have a lot of reading to catch up on."

"Ok", Sam agreed, "I'd particularly like to spend some time in the Gospel of John ‑‑ Harold had indicated that this is perhaps the central `theme' book of the Bible"

"Great", Sadie commented, "it will be special to study together ‑‑ I like the idea of growing `in the Lord' with you, honey".

           -----------------------------------------------------------------

At the Jerusalem Hotel, Harold and Phoebe were not immune to the call to prayer by `their Islamic buddy' as they  preferred to call him ‑‑ although they had almost jumped out of their skin."You know, honey", Harold in deep thought suggested, "I think they doubled up on us this morning ‑‑ something is  different".

Phoebe replied, "I think you're right, Harold ‑‑ maybe they have been especially impacted related to the destruction of the Mosque of Omar."

"That is a good point", Harold said, "something is  certainly different".

Half snoozing and half awake, Harold was recounting in his mind some of the things that had happened just last evening, and some of the things that could be expected. Phoebe had drifted off to sleep, catching a few added `zzzzzs' as she would say.

Harold's mind was clicking away on possibilities ‑‑ he decided the most probable thing was for King David and his 'crew' to come back into the picture (they had apparently just disappeared for this time ‑‑ at least he had not heard any more about them).

Let's see, Harold mused, they would have to get the Passover established ‑‑ even first they must `divide the land'.  Yes, thought Harold, the land that had now been augmented with the southern part of Lebanon. The Knesset had voted to sovereignly control that as part of Israel just Wednesday morning. That, thought Harold, would probably call for a reappearance of at least the Prophet Ezekiel to provide God's guidance for reorganization of both the external and internal boundaries of Israel.

It will be interesting to see just how this all `plays' against the present Knesset governmental positions and policies, Harold thought. He  didn't' really envy Jacob Levi's spot ‑‑ or any of those of the Knesset, as far as that is concerned.

Of, course, he mused, about all they can do is 'kick back' and let God have His way!  That is for sure, but then, he rationalized, that is not the way man works ‑‑ no, they will buck it, ‑‑ certainly as Satan is impacting some there, we can expect some skirmishes in the chambers.

It has ever been so, he recalled ‑‑ why expect anything else?  As he rolled over to get more comfortable he glanced at the clock ‑‑ the numerals were almost large enough for him to make out in a blurred sort of way if he squinted down on them he noted ‑‑ hey, he thought, is it really 6:45 already?  With that start, he sat straight up in bed, got his glasses and took a better look at the clock ‑‑ sure enough he mused, 6:45, better start getting my honey awake.  Phoebe has always been a slow starter ‑‑ she'd take the better part of an hour to just get both eyes open.

"Hey sleepy head", he  whispered in her ear, "rise and shine, see the beautiful day the Lord has made."

Phoebe grunted and rolled over on her other side ‑‑ trying to escape her tormentor. "Go away!", she said.

"Well now young lady", he said (she was 3 years younger, and he often  referred to her in this way), "we have a breakfast date with the `group' at 8 O'clock ‑‑ we ‑‑ actually you ‑‑ will have to get a wiggle on it if we are going to be anywhere near to being on time! ‑‑ tell you what, I'll even fix you a cup of  decafe coffee". With that Harold almost bounced out of bed, scurrying to start the water boiling and to get his electric shave started.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Jacob had tossed and turned all night ‑‑

Where was all this leading? he thought. Golda, his wife, had patted him on the back several times during the night, in an attempt to calm him down. Actually, they had talked into the early morning hours, he sharing with her as much as he could ‑‑ she, giving her `woman's' wisdom to him where she thought it appropriate. But, he still was very restless.

He could even now hear the bleating of some sheep that were  being herded past their home. Usually he wouldn't have heard the sheep, for this is a very normal occurrence in the outskirts of Tel Aviv.

He could see the bright red illuminated dial of their clock radio ‑‑ too clearly  he thought ‑‑ can it really be  6 a.m. already. It would take him a good hour in traffic to get to the  restaurant to meet the `group' at 8 a.m. ‑‑ the `group', he mused, ‑‑ quite an assortment of energy, of expectation. Interesting that this `group' in total or part had been present or part of essentially every significant step of the really fantastic things that have been going on.

Curious, he thought., perhaps God is moving in our midst in different ways ‑‑ ways that we can scarce even imagine. That made him a little mad at himself ‑‑ `getting soft there Jacob'‑‑`they are getting to you' ‑‑ after all, wasn't he known as a leader of logical processes? ‑‑ wasn't he the number two guy of the Public Relations Department. Come on Levi ‑‑ get a hold on  yourself.

"Jacob", Golda said,  jerking him to attention , "you have that breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. ‑‑ let's get up, ‑‑  I'll fix you a cup of strong coffee to help you get through that traffic.

Jake climbed out of bed rather grudgingly ‑‑ he was bushed!

He shaved, showered and dressed ‑‑ he had also remembered that he had to be at the Knesset for a 10 a.m. roll call ‑‑ they were to initiate some special  measures to handle the situations with the prophets, etc. Before he knew it, well how would he ‑‑ he was still numb from the day before ‑‑ he found himself in his car driving into Jerusalem. He had made excellent time, and he had listened to the local news ‑‑ actually outside news is hard to come by, they still haven't fully recovered from the earthquake (he wondered how the Hoover Dam situation finally resolved ‑‑ they had not heard anything since their own quake).

Also, locally there is excitement about the traveling Tabernacle and Temple having been found and  being transported to the Temple Mount. Now that is amazing, he thought. The first parts are to arrive at about 4 p.m.. It was also reported that the immigration of Jews to Israel had dramatically picked up, there seemed to be about ten times the people every-where. Jacob had subconsciously noted that before the news report, but had just played it down.  No doubt. he mused thoughtfully, this will be another area we will have to deal with today!

As Jacob pulled up to the Little Jerusalem Restaurant he saw the Monroe's just walking up. He hopped out of the car and called out "Hi Harold and Phoebe ‑‑ seems we are developing a serious affliction or habit  ‑‑ of eating together".

"Right Jacob", Harold called back, "we will have to work on it, Ha!"

Jacob puffed up beside them, complaining, "I had better get back in shape soon ‑‑ I couldn't even take that little jog from the car to you people without getting out of breath".

"Yes, Jacob", Harold said rather sympathetically, "afraid we all need to keep in better shape".

As they walked in, they were met by Rachel's shrill little  squeal, motioning them over to a corner booth.  Sam and Sadie were  there too, completing their little `group'.

Rachel, Sam and Sadie all converged on the Monroe's ‑‑ giving each a very warm welcome and hug.  "Hey, Jacob said, " what's going on here ‑‑ old home week?"

"Not exactly", said Sam, "more like New Home Week ‑‑ you see Jacob, the three of us (Rachel, Sadie and I) all discovered our Messiah yesterday afternoon ‑‑‑‑‑ "

"Yes", volunteered Rachel after a short pause, "we have become  completed Jews".

"That is something to do with Jesus isn't it?", queried Jacob.

"Right", said Sadie, "we have discovered the great truth that Jesus is our Messiah ‑‑ was not understood when He first came ‑‑ will come again in Power and Great Glory next time".

This turn of events has left both Harold and Phoebe rather   breathless ‑‑ they hadn't expected the `kids' to come off so strong with Jacob. They looked at each other and then both prayed silently that God's Holy Spirit would have His way in this situation!

Jacob turned to the Monroe's, perhaps seeking refuge from these three zealots! Harold wanted to laugh, because Jacob's face was several big question marks.

"Jacob", Harold said, "perhaps we can all share more with you about this great situation later".

Just then the waitress came to their table ‑‑ Rachel said, "I recommend their house special ‑‑ a modified `French toast' using bagels with scrambled eggs and orange juice. It is great!" Everyone nodded ok.

"Jacob", Harold said, "cut me off if I get out of place, ‑‑ but would today be a good day for us to visit the Knesset again?"

Jacob thought for a moment ‑‑ "I suspect it might be", he squirmed in saying, "there are many unanswered items that must be handled, and the matter of the Tabernacle due in this afternoon is another issue.  Not to mention that we need to reorganize to accommodate all the people that are immigrating. ‑‑ or hadn't you noticed that we are being overrun with people.  Even the local  news casters indicate that they feel we must have passed the 40 Million mark.  That is amazing when you realize the  problem we had absorbing that 1.7 Million Jews that immigrated from Russia this last year. ‑‑ where are they all coming from?"

"Wow and double Wow", squealed Rachel, "the whole house of Israel resurrected! ‑‑ right Harold?"

"It certainly looks that way to me", Harold thoughtfully exclaimed, "really, there is no other `rational' answer that I can come up with".

"Rational", Jacob quipped, "do you call 40‑Million Jews being resurrected `rational'?"

"Not from our perspective, Jacob", reasoned Harold, "but from God's perspective and what the Prophet Ezekiel had to say in Chapter 37, yes,  ‑‑ not seen for years, but literally stated!"

The tension was somewhat assuaged as the waitress started to serve their breakfast. "group", Harold injected, "may I lead us all in a prayer of praise and thanksgiving?"

     They all nodded ok!

"Father", Harold began, "we know you as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and we are grateful that you are allowing us to be here to see these great and ageless things happening here in Israel ‑‑ we are thankful for your provision of food for us, we are especially thankful for the new friends you have given us. Bless them each one. Be especially  with Jacob, Father, as he and the Knesset have decisions to make ‑‑ lead them  we pray. Thank you for all these wonderful blessings, including life itself, we thank you in the name of the one and only Messiah, even our Lord Jesus Christ. ‑‑ Amen"

"Thanks", ventured Jacob, "for remembering me ‑‑ us, ‑‑ we certainly do want God's will and ways to be done!"

They all pitched in to the food, but at the first gasp of `fresh air' so to speak, dear Rachel led into a very pointed and leading question ‑‑ a question which Jacob might find difficult to handle.  "Harold", queried Rachel, "did you have an opportunity to talk with Jake in detail last night?"

"Yes", Harold quipped, wondering where Rachel might be taking this conversation, "we talked about almost all of the prophesies of the Prophet Ezekiel and the Prophet Daniel ‑‑ noting that this all highlights the return of the whole house of Israel and even more importantly the return of The Messiah."

"What about King David? ‑‑ Jacob", Rachel pursued, "do you feel he is for real?"

"You know", Jacob replied, "that is one of the toughest questions I have ever had to deal with ‑‑ actually this has been on my mind all night."

"How do you see this situation?" Sam falteringly asked.

"Well", Jacob almost whispered, "on one hand it makes no sense from a logical position, yet, we are seeing evidence ‑‑ actual evidence, that these people are truly resurrected individuals ‑‑ apparently in agreement with the scriptures".

"Does that mean you are firm in your position with King David?", queried Phoebe.

"I think so", said Jacob wincing slightly as it dawned on him just exactly what he was saying. "I know I have a great deal of confidence in all of you ‑‑ especially Harold and Phoebe's knowledge of the Word of God. Everything we have seen and talked about seems to support such a position. Do you think we are sufficiently sure now, Harold, for such a definite stand?"

I truly believe we are, Jacob, ‑‑ there would have to be a major  change in venue ‑‑ like we all wake up from this fantastic dream, or something like that". Harold reasoned.

"That is indeed interesting", Jacob thoughtfully commented, "these things would certainly be hard if not impossible to explain later".

Sam and Sadie had been discussing their own future, feeling that they should probably make plans  to immigrate right away, not even return to the USA. They were trying to decide whether or not to stay with the `group' today ‑‑ maybe they should break away and get the paperwork started.

Sadie asked, "Jacob, do you think this is likely to be an  important day at the Knesset?"

"Yes, I really  do, Sadie", Jacob replied, "there are so many issues at work, and most all of them include King David, etc."

"Umm", Sadie mused, "we had better stick with the `group' today yet honey", she softly suggested to Sam.

"I think you're right, honey", Sam agreed, "we'll go along at least to the Knesset this morning".

"Great", they all said practically in unison.

"We heard via a `Ham' operator near my brothers place", Sam noted,  " ‑‑ this `Ham' is helping with 'outside' communications since the satellite station isn't back up yet ‑‑ that the Hoover Dam quake was indeed causing drastic situations in the Los Angeles basin. The water, electricity, food and gasoline shortages are very serious. The federal and state governments have established emergency caravans of trucks, trains and planes to assure meeting minimum requirements.  Only mandatory businesses are getting supplies.  Los Angeles is basically shut down as related to normal business. They feel it will take about 6‑months to get back to reasonable conditions ‑‑ years to get back to conditions before the quake."

"Things have been at such a pitch here", Harold noted, "that we have hardly had a moment to even think about that very serious situation".

"Actually", Rachel commented, "quakes such as the Hoover Dam, and even the `Temple Mount' are kinda anticlimactic ‑‑ lost in the shuffle so to speak ‑‑ part of the background, not really part of the main scene".

"That is good insight, Rachel", Harold volunteered, ‑‑ "for the very heart of the issue is what is happening here in Israel right now ‑‑ nicely obscured by earthquakes in various parts of the world. Earthquakes are really  starting to shake people up a bit, and one of the main elements here is the minimization of information exchange ‑‑ particularly out of Israel".

"Hey `group', it's 9:15 already.  I have a 10 O'clock Roll Call to make at the Knesset ‑‑ I've got to run", Jacob hastily said as he was getting disentangled from his napkin and  grabbing his briefcase, "Hope I'll see you all soon. Shalom ‑‑ Shalom!".  With that, he beat a quick retreat, heading for the waitress.

"Just a minute, Mr. Levi, Sir", said Harold, "you stay away from that waitress and check ‑‑ it's Phoebe's treat today!"

Jacob laughed an "Ok" and shot another "Shalom" to the `group' as he disappeared out the front door.

"Isn't it interesting", said Sadie, "how God had allowed us to see some of these things and  even to have a part in `pointing' a key fellow such as Jacob in the right direction?"

"That is indeed great", Phoebe noted, "it certainly is the culmination of the ages ‑‑ a most interesting and  important period of time ‑‑ actually, `THE' most important ‑‑leading to the return of our Lord, what could compare!"

"As good as this fellowship is", Harold quipped, " we better 'hustle our bustles' or we're going to miss the opening of the Knesset session  ‑‑ Phoebe, -- please take care of the check and tip, I have a stop to make at the rest room, I'll see you all at the front door shortly". With that, Harold loped off and the others began to get ready to leave the table.

The `group' was becoming closer and closer knit together, this was obvious to all ‑‑ and a delight to Harold and Phoebe ‑‑ the Lord had indeed answered their prayer for friends and opportunities on this trip, thought Phoebe!

In due time and a fair amount of small talk and bantering between the younger sets ‑‑ the `group' found their way to the front door of the restaurant just as Harold appeared with his normal cheery greeting to all.

"Let's 'Hit the Road'", quipped Harold, "It's 9:40 and we don't want to be late".

"Look whose talking", countered Phoebe, "the late and restful Mr. Monroe! ‑‑ ha, ha".

"Better late than too late", re‑quipped Harold, "Let's go".

At 9:55 the `group' was seated ‑‑ right in the front‑center seats  of the visitors gallery , in five reserved seats, ‑‑ no doubt the result of their friend Jacob's thoughtful handiwork mused Harold.

They had barely settled themselves  when the Prime Minister (some call him the President) called for the session to be opened with a voice Roll Call.  This took about 10‑minutes.

At about 10:10 the Prime Minister approached the podium,      announcing that they had a number of issues to consider.

Right then, King David appeared on the scene ‑‑‑ came to the podium saying, "Greetings, yesterday you were told that God has sent me back to rule all Israel for this End Time period ‑‑  we know much of this is strange to you ‑‑as it is to us".

"But", King David continued, "as we work together we will all see the blessings of our God and His anointed ‑‑ the Messiah, who will return in due time".

"The Prophet Ezekiel has worked with your Israeli civil engineers to establish the proper division of the total land.  You will find detail maps posted and available to those that have need.  Basically, to God we designate an area from the Great Sea to the Jordan River, centered  north to south on Jerusalem, with 12,500 Reeds to the north and 12,500 Reeds to the south ‑‑ a total area of 25,000 Reeds by 25,000 Reeds.  This, they tell me, is approximately 52 miles by 52 miles or approximately 86 kilometers by 86 kilometers. This will provide areas for the Temple, for the Levites, and for your Prince (myself and royal court). There will then be seven of  our tribes to the north of the Oblation area, and five tribes to the south.  These will all have equal areas, they all will be located  between the Great Sea and the Jordan river.  From the north, Dan, then Asher, then Naphtali, then Manasseh, then Ephraim, then Ruben, then Judah on the north border of the Oblation area. South of the Oblation area the tribes are, first south, Benjamin, next south, Simeon, next Issachar, next Zebulun, and next Gad.  The Levites do not have a part in the twelve, only in the Oblation area. Joseph has two portions, in Ephraim and Manasseh".

"This", King David continued, "is clarified in the maps noted earlier."

"The population of each tribal area will be comprised of those that currently live within those noted  boundaries (including strangers) ‑‑ all those of true Israel that are resurrected, these will assure a prominent and forceful community for each tribe."

"Since the Oblation Area for God includes Jerusalem and  Tel Aviv ‑‑ there will be both necessary and heartfelt shifts of individuals to appropriate tribal areas."

"When fully implemented, we will find life is considerably simplified ‑‑ yet, the Glory of our God will be obvious and Israel will be  raised high among the nations of the world.  In particular ‑‑ Israel will be the most powerful nation in the world, ‑‑ truly invincible in our God's power!"

"We of  Israel", King David projected, "must be a light to all nations for our God".

"Note  brethren, ‑‑ while Israel was `set‑aside'  these last 2,000 years or so, our God has mercifully made a way for `faithful' gentiles to become His children also.  True Christians are these faithful ‑‑  having been grafted into the family of God via the faith of Abraham, ‑‑  actually, made heirs with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob of the promises ‑‑ elect  according to our God's foreknowledge and good pleasure."

"Brethren", King David shouts, "what our God has established let  us be careful to maintain and cherish".

"Men and brethren", King David whispered, "we now have directions given by God to Ezekiel the prophet, and I hereby ask all true Israel to join me in a great celebration of deliverance ‑‑ a true Passover this next Tuesday, the 10th of April, in the year of our Lord '1990' AD (this being the 14th day of the new year).  Through this we will celebrate His saving us from the Death Angel and bringing us  out of Egypt ‑‑ and now, seeing even greater events to celebrate ‑‑ yes, we have much to praise our God and Father for!!! Let us all Praise His Holy Name!!!"

Suddenly two shots rang out ‑‑ followed almost immediately by a volley of at least 20 shots ‑‑ these from two automatic weapons ‑‑ the podium in front of King David was shattered, but King David stood straight and tall, apparently untouched.

The Knesset guards quickly converged on the two gunmen, one on each side of the hall.  They were deployed for best opportunity as well as for maximum diversionary potential. One gunman was  quickly subdued by Knesset parliamentarians and guards, while the other was successful in escaping to the nearby exit.

There was a new degree of bedlam ‑‑ confusion was rampant ‑‑ the captured gunman was shouting , "down with the King ‑‑ Israel for the People ‑‑ kill the religious zealots!!"

King David called for order ‑‑ "People of God", he said, "Our God has protected us from evil men ‑‑ from their `darts'".

"Actually", he continued, "we that are resurrected cannot be harmed or killed, ‑‑ although, we at will can administer `harm' to natural man.  Even now the one that `escaped' is also in our hands ‑‑ you see ‑‑ we are now invincible in our God's power and might!"

"Now", King David with a shake of his long hair to emphasize his determination to continue, said, "let us get back to the business at hand".

"I note that Israel is generally  prepared for the Passover ‑‑ so this command falls on prepared ears and hearts. ‑‑ isn't our God good? ‑‑ isn't He great? ‑‑ yes,!! ‑‑ and He continues to implement His great plan and purpose in and through us."

"You will notice", King David continues, "this last statement bridges the last 3,500 years, ‑‑ even recognizing the gracious work of our Father God to the gentiles, while re‑establishing Israel in the family of nations ‑‑ even above all other nations.  ‑‑ Allowing The Glory of Our God and Father to be seen!!!"

"People of God", King David shouts out, "we stand on the brink of the End Time, within which Israel will be tested ‑‑ each and everyone ‑‑ each having the opportunity to follow God or Satan.  We will clarify this later, but, in the meantime, seek ye the Lord ‑‑ while He may be found ‑‑ don't lean only on your own understanding ‑‑ allow Him to empower you."

With that, King David just walked off the podium and disappeared from the Knesset.

There was general bedlam ‑‑ the Prime Minister finally regained his composure, ‑‑ mustered strength to his weakened knees, ‑‑ began pounding his gavel for order.

Finally, ‑‑ after several minutes of uncontrolled bedlam, he was able to get order ‑‑ everyone was now quiet ‑‑ many were anticipating that the Prime Minister would just `wave off' these `crazies' and get on with the business at hand.

"Statesmen", the Prime Minister re‑affirmed, "we have much to deal with".

"First", he said, "our new King is in charge. We as part of his staff, must continue to carry on the details of governing ‑‑ attempting to fit in with his new and dynamic guidelines for Israel."

"It is noteworthy", the Prime Minister continued, "that our God has brought us as a nation to our present state of readiness ‑‑ apparently exactly as required to accommodate the resurrection of the Whole House of Israel".

"Mr. President ‑‑ Mr. President", ‑‑ a very loud and persistent voice cried out, "this is ridiculous ‑‑ we of the new Anti‑King David Coalition (AKDC) demand that we be heard ‑‑ we insist that sanity be restored to all our present dealings".

With this interruption, the Prime Minister, after a few moments, responded,  "Very well,  we will give your spokesman 30 minutes to place your objections before us at 1:30 this afternoon and a vote of confidence will be taken  at 3:30 following a summary by the ruling coalition's spokesman.

"This body is dismissed for lunch", the Prime Minister shouted ‑‑ bringing his gavel down with a resounding thud, "it is now 11:45, we will reconvene promptly at 1:15 pm" ‑‑ providing a note of emphasis with two sharp swings of the gavel.

Chapter 13           King David -- the Pros and Cons

Harold was fairly stunned by all that had transpired, ‑‑ he noted that there were now two primary `camps' in the Knesset. He also noted that the Prime Minister and Jacob Levi with about 20 other cabinet members were vigorously exchanging ideas.

Across the room, a smaller but even more vocal and expressive group is frantically gesturing as they obviously are considering various strategies, who would speak for them, and just what their `platform' would be.

"Wow", Rachel squealed almost in Harold's ear, "this is real drama ‑‑ King David, the pros and cons!"

"Yes", Harold agreed, "we sure don't want to miss this afternoon session! ‑‑ let's get a quick  sandwich!"

Sadie and Sam agreed, "Let's go ‑‑ but for sure let's get back well ahead of time!"

With that this five‑set of the `group' quickly headed for the `deli' across the street ‑‑ Harold noting: "those two groups will be plotting and planning right up to the time the Prime Minister brings down his gavel for order at 1:15".

As the `group' moved out of the Knesset the AKDC had already decided upon their main strategy ‑‑‑ it includes using the  articulate and persuasive oratory of Dr. H.A. Issem ‑‑ their `world Jew' consultant. This is actually no real surprise, since the appearance of King David has only accelerated their decisions related to open confrontations related to their anti‑messiah positions.

The `Kingdom Party' headed by King David is now openly being challenged by the AKDC with an unprecedented action by a coalition  party to place a non‑member of the Knesset into such a powerful role. In effect their consultant Dr. H.A. Issem has been elevated to the head of the AKDC.

On the other side of the hall, the Kingdom party, after almost an hours discussions, had finally decided to exactly follow King David's lead ‑‑ also, the Prime Minister had suggested that Jacob Levi be their spokesman for this rejoinder, he being best versed on  the expected adversary (their 'G2’ indicated Dr. H.A. Issem was to present the AKDC's position) ‑‑ and  would be best able to counter any projected thrust by the AKDC's.

At the `deli' the `group' had enjoyed a very hasty and `nervous' lunch ‑‑ their anticipation was really peaked.

"You know", Phoebe had quietly said, "this is really getting wild ‑‑ one group apparently fully accepting God's plan, ‑‑ the other, equally rejecting ‑‑ doing all in their power to put it down, ‑‑ to do it their way".

"Yes", Harold replied, "it is ever God against Satan ‑‑ just various forms".

"It should be an interesting afternoon", Sam said, "I've got the feeling we are entering a fantastic new regime ‑‑ Israel is coming into her own!".

"Can you really imagine", Rachel squealed, "King David and all Israel! ‑‑ WOW!! ‑‑ Fantastic!! ‑‑"

The word of conflict had spread wildly ‑‑ coupled with the assassination attempt on  King David ‑‑ and the noise of the growing crowd permeated the `deli' ‑‑ the `group' was getting `antsy' about their getting seats ‑‑ they were all anxious to get started back.

They had hurried through the sandwiches and root beers, and were now at the cash register to pay. It seemed to take forever, ‑‑ everyone was distracted, everyone was discussing the morning events and what could be expected this afternoon.  Finally, they were out in front and  painstakingly working their way through the crowd which now filled the street, building to building, with live and squirming people. Feelings were high and the crowd was really on edge ‑‑ Rachel had said, "the natives are restless". That is for sure!

Chapter 14              An Afternoon to Remember

The group finally wormed their way through the crowd to the door of the Knesset ‑‑ and  were passed right through to their seats, using the passes which had been given them on the way out at lunch.

"Thank goodness for Jacob Levi's passes", Phoebe said.

At precisely 1:15 p.m.  the Prime Minister re‑opened the meeting with three sharp gavel strikes  on the podium block, ‑‑ this against a near bedlam noise level throughout the hall.

"Ladies and Gentlemen", he shouted into the  microphone, ‑‑ they all quieted down almost immediately, "this session is hereby reopened".

"We understand", he continued, "that Dr. H.A. Issem will be the spokesman for the AKDC ‑‑ giving us this coalition's position on Israel's proposed policy related to following King David's lead and program.  Dr. Issem will have 30 minutes or less to present the AKDC position, after which the Kingdom Parties re‑joiner will be presented by Mr. Jacob Levi, our parties parliamentarian.

"Dr. Issem, you have 30 minutes, sir ‑‑ it is now exactly 1:27 pm ‑‑ you will be given the usual 5 minute alert."

"Mr. President, honorable cabinet members, honored guests", Dr. Issem eloquently stated, "it is our purpose today to present a clear view of the disastrous and bigoted path which the Kingdom party is taking us down ‑‑ and to further present a far superior approach for Israel to achieve her rightful place among the nations".

"Our's is not a `pie in the sky' ‑‑ or wildly confused approach. We are based on hard facts and firm relationships with key persons in both the East and Western Blocks of Nations ‑‑ we are not basing our platform on `crazies'."

"We contend that Israel is even now on the forefront of international achievements ‑‑ there is an almost general acceptance of this fact.  Israel even now commands over 20% of the printed press and even more of the time

on electronic news services internationally."

"Gentlemen", emphasized Dr. Issem, "we are doing great ‑‑ we do not need others ‑‑ we only need to extend ourselves ‑‑ to project the power that we have ‑‑ to wield the financial and political clout  that is ours."

"We", he continued, "have seen some weird things ‑‑ things which would tend to sway our thinking.  To counteract this we have decided to utilize our powers as well, showing that we of the AKDC also have super powers ‑‑".

With that he grasped a handful of papers, and immediately they burst into flame ‑‑ yet they didn't burn.  With the flame, he  lit a cigarette, still the papers did not burn.  He released the papers and they immediately went out.  He struck a match, and the papers lit and burned to an ash.

He held a glass of water high in the air ‑‑  drained half, then while holding it high it froze and cracked the glass.  He caught the ice and placed it in his hand ‑‑ it immediately came to a boil, transitioning the liquid state directly to the vapor state.

"I, as a devoted AKDC have these and many other powers ‑‑ these can and will be Israel's powers ‑‑ she can be invincible with me."

"So then", Dr. Issem concluded, "within our AKDC we have a    consortium of financial, social, political as well as existential powers which can set the international stage for Israel to be the world leader ‑‑ allowing Israel to take her rightful place among the nations of this world. ‑‑ thank you Mr. President, and Cabinet members of the  Knesset for your good and gracious attention". With that he literally flew  through the air some 30 feet to his seat ‑‑ amidst a very loud clapping of hands of many of the cabinet members and  visitors.

"Did you see that", Harold whispered, "he just seemed to float a foot off the floor ‑‑ to his seat".

"Wow", Rachel replied in  a strained whisper, "yes, he really did ‑‑ I think!"

There was a hush over the whole hall, ‑‑ the Kingdom Party realized that here was a challenge ‑‑ a worthy opponent for sure.  They knew that they have their job cut out for them, to beat such exhibitions of power.  they had been quite confident in the obvious power that King David and the others had quietly exhibited, ‑‑ now though, some edge had been trimmed!

"Thank you Dr. Issem, ‑‑ you stayed well within your time", responded an obviously disturbed Prime Minister.

"Mr. Levi", the Prime Minister continued, "we will now hear your reply".

"Mr. President and fellow cabinet members", started Jacob Levi, clearing his throat while preparing his initial remark. "We are obviously at the cross roads of man's history ‑‑ all of good and evil is focused at this moment, ‑‑ indeed, Israel is in the center of the hot seat of history".

Jacob was pacing, obviously intent upon his next statement ‑‑ really, in a `prayerful' mode.  He paused, mentally content that what he was to say next was right!

"Our God is implementing His plan and program through Israel ‑‑ He has seen fit to confirm this to us by bringing King David and the prophets to lead us".

"With such gracious acts of our God, we should expect that there would be attempts by the evil one to discredit as well as impress by  subtleties".

"Yes", Mr. Levi continued, "Satan and his representatives are especially active here ‑‑ we actually saw several examples of this evil intent, even miraculous `fire', `freezing', and `flying' exhibitions were played out in our very presence."

"Yes, ‑‑ notable miracles", Jacob firmly noted as he continued to pace, " ‑‑ but of evil intent ‑‑ only done to confuse and divide, to divert our attention from the true and living God and His resurrected ones."

"It goes almost without saying", affirmed Jacob Levi, "we as human beings by ourselves are no match for Dr. H.A. Issem, as he obviously gets his power from the evil one ‑‑ he is very dangerous ‑‑ he is a committed representative of Satan".

"On the other hand", Jacob Levi continued, "in God's power and by reliance upon His representatives, Israel cannot fail, ‑‑ can and will defeat Dr. Issem and his compatriots".

"Israel", Jacob Levi shouts, "you must follow your God ‑‑ don't be beguiled by this evil one ‑‑ cast your vote with King David, join his serious and happy band for fulfillment of the End Time". Jacob was obviously very emotional ‑‑ very concerned for his country and countrymen.

"Israel", Jacob said in an uncontrolled `weeping' voice, "I fear you will follow evil ‑‑ if you do, God forbid, be alert and cast  him off early ‑‑ he will deceive if possible the very elect of God."

"Israel", Jacob Levi cries out ‑‑ drawing himself to his full stature, "seek your God while He may be found ‑‑ love Him ‑‑ turn from this evil".

At this moment a commotion in the AKDC area caused attention to be drawn there.  The deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Samuel Brentheimer, one of their strong advocates, was gasping for air ‑‑ could not get his breath and collapsed.  Dr. Milheim, one of Israel's foremost medical generalists was just 20 feet away, and quickly stepped to his side.  He was quickly joined by Dr. Steinmeir, a noted cardiologist. After a brief examination by both doctors, Dr. Steinmeir from his kneeling position shook his head sadly  and said, "He's dead!". This was confirmed by Dr. Milheim with a positive nod of his head.

Without added word, Dr. Issem stepped to the lifeless body of Mr. Brentheimer and simply took him by his hand and raised him to his feet.

A gasp of surprise and awe went through the hall ‑‑ they had seen what apparently was a miracle of life restored! Dr. Issem had brought Samuel Brentheimer back to life!

Bedlam again broke out in the Knesset, ‑‑ every one was talking at once.

Mr. Brentheimer, the restored one, waved heartily to everyone, ‑‑ taking his seat again and awaiting the continuation of the session.  Everything, except Jacob Levi, was back to normal.

The Prime Minister stepped to Jacob's side, "Mr. Levi, ‑‑ you have seven minutes remaining, ‑‑ due to the inopportune interruption you may have a short recess if you so desire".

"Thank you Mr. President", Jacob quickly responded, "but that won't be necessary".

"Very well, ‑‑ continue as soon as you are ready", said the Prime Minister.

"Ladies and gentlemen,  we have seen some notable things this afternoon.  Things that are not of human origin, things that can come only from our GOD ‑‑ OR from the adversary who our God has given certain powers to for a season".

"We must not be deceived, brethren", said Mr. Jacob Levi, "the evil one often does even `good' things to gain the control he is after".

"Remember,", confirmed Jacob Levi, "with King David and the  other prophets has come the Tabernacle and the Temple ‑‑ even now they are being erected on the Temple Mount. This  is a very present confirmation of God's hand on King David.  It also speaks to our need, yes, our duty as God's chosen people, to support His program for Israel with all that is in us.  It is important to Israel, to each of us, as well as to the world at large".

"Dr. H.A. Issem is against all this", ‑‑ vehemently expressed Jacob Levi, "he and the AKDC are wanting Israel to take a much lesser position ‑‑ to follow their program of deception ‑‑ helping to promote Dr. Issem and his desires to put down all that is sacred to Israel and the true worship of God."

"Beware", Jacob Levi continues, "the AKDC and Dr. H.A. Issam   stand  to demoralize Israel, ‑‑ to strip Israel from her God, ‑‑ keeping Israel from truly enjoying her Prince and her King of Kings."

"In conclusion ‑‑ on a very positive note, ‑‑ Israel now has the  opportunity to be the most powerful and respected nation among nations ‑‑ but this can only be achieved within God's plan and under the direct leadership of King David. This providing a most meaningful and long lasting relationship with our God."

"The conclusion -- on a negative note, ‑‑ under the AKDC with Dr. Issem, we can expect only short term `bandaiding' of problems, ‑‑ the result of deceitful exploitative methods that they will use.  Israel, if ever controlled by the AKDC must soon be salvaged ‑‑ really wrenched from their grasp ‑‑ to allow God's total plan to be accomplished.  We can avoid this unnecessary 'rape' of Israel if we so desire, ‑‑ if we will act now to affirm the Kingdom Party  as led by King David The Returned". With that Jacob Levi turned and went to his seat.

"Thank you Mr. Levi", the Prime Minister said as he noted that, "it is now 2:45  p.m.  ‑‑ we will take a 30‑minute break and re‑convene for the vote of confidence at 3:15 p.m.  sharp." With that he turned on his heal and headed for Jacob Levi.

Again, the two new groups were holding their own sessions of strategy across the halls from each other ‑‑ with individuals `spinning off' to lobby or persuade key members to vote their way. A truly frantic time for all concerned.

"Well", said Harold to the `group' present, "this has certainly developed quickly ‑‑ it  is pretty obvious that indeed Dr. H.A. Issem is the anti‑messiah, the one the New Testament calls the

Anti‑Christ.  ‑‑ you know, of course, the Bible says that Israel will follow him (the anti‑Christ) until he proclaims himself to be God at the center of the 70th week of Daniel (I'd guess, about 6 plus years from now)".

"You mean", blurted Rachel,"these parliamentarians will vote in favor of the AKDC and against King David and the Kingdom party?"

"I'd guess that is what will happen", Harold surmised, "rather a rough time coming  for Israel I'd say. ‑‑ it will be interesting how King David handles this situation. ‑‑ Here we have resurrected `invincibles' (humanly speaking) pitted against a powerful albeit fallen Arch Angel's representative".

Sam had been deep in thought, but now a question was surfacing that demanded consideration: "Harold, how is our Messiah, Jesus going to fit into all of this?"

"Well Sam", Harold replied, "Our Lord is waiting to receive us ‑‑ He has told us some of the things to expect ‑‑ Israel will be tested ‑‑ true Israel will pass the test.  Actually, Israel's test will take seven years, it will start in about 2‑1/2 years I would guess, ‑‑ anti‑Christ will be `top dog' for about six of these years."

"You feel anti‑Christ will be in charge for about six years now?", Sam questioned.

"Yes", Harold replied, "his power will grow ‑‑ not to full power until near the end of the six year period, ‑‑ remember the chart I shared with you earlier!"

"You know", Harold mused, "there is a scenario that would fit this situation even better, ‑‑ the AKDC's could lose this round but later, say 3 or so years from now, get the needed control".

"That's interesting", said Sam, "I believe that would be about in synch with the next national elections for Israel ‑‑ '1993' for '1994' change of `guard'.

"Time will tell", Harold quipped, "our best estimate now can only be that, but we will have to keep alert to actual activities and improved expectations."

Just then, as the group was converging on their seats, Jacob      puffed into view, all out of breath.

"Only have a minute, wanted to talk with you quickly if I might, ‑‑ I need your `prophetic' insights especially, Harold", Jacob whispered.

"You hit the head of the nail Jacob, in your reply ‑‑ it is obvious that you believe King David is God's man and Dr. Issem is Satan's man", Harold noted.

"Yes", Jacob replied, "Our Kingdom party has a strong unity in this area, ‑‑ confirmed and strengthened by the Temple situation".

"What can we help you with?", Harold asked pointedly.

"Can our Kingdom Party position be 100% covered by scriptural prophesy?" Jacob queried.

"To the best of our knowledge", Harold replied, "based on insights from Our messiah Himself in the New Testament, which by the way is corroborated by Old Testament writings, ‑‑ you are right on target. The only problem, we are now dealing at a much finer `infra‑structure' level than is covered by prophesy ‑‑ at least as I have seen it".

"That is our belief too", said Jacob, "but we wanted to get your insight as well. ‑‑ Thanks, Harold".  With that, Jacob bid the whole `group' "Shalom, Shalom", and left on a dead gallop!

Chapter 15            Vote of Confidence

At precisely 3:15 p.m. the Prime Minister brought his gavel down sharply two times to get attention. "The Knesset is back in session", he said. "We will now take a vote of confidence. Our parliamentary rules state that  at  least 51% of the Knesset membership voting `yes' is required.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please cast  your vote with the Master at Arms, a `yes' or 'no' vote only, ‑‑ remember, abstention is a `no' vote in this case."

It took 35 minutes to get all votes recorded and for the Master at Arms  to count the tally.  He presented the signed result to the Prime Minister and the secretary of the parliament. The Prime Minister received the results and reviewed them `dispassionately'.

"Ladies and gentlemen, ‑‑ we have the results of the vote ‑‑ the Master at Arms will present them to you."

"'Yes' votes: 58% of the membership", boomed out the Master at Arms.

"Thank you, each one for your vote of confidence ‑‑ clearly we have a division of thought here, but too, we of the Kingdom Party must now proceed to support King David in implementing the programs which our God is initiating through him.  Israel is entering her `Golden Era'!!.  Thank you again for giving us this opportunity to serve Israel and our God.".

"We of the Kingdom Party", the Prime Minister seriously projected to all present, "ask all Knesset members to join hearts and hands in a new unity for the Glory of Israel and for the Glory of her God!"

"It has been a hard day", the Prime Minister almost whispered, "we stand adjourned until tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. , at which time we will present a coordinated milestone schedule for implementation of Israel's End Time activities within the world community of nations".

Before anyone could move, King David appeared beside the Prime Minister, saying, "Brethren, to God be the Glory ‑‑ Great things He has done and even greater things He will do. It was good to see that a majority of you are fully with us.  We now expect that we all will be united for our God's Glory". With that, King David stepped aside and disappeared.

Harold looked at his watch, "4:45 p.m.", he said, half out loud, "what a day ‑‑ a great victory for God, Israel and the Kingdom Party ‑‑ not to mention King David".

"Well `group'", Harold projected, "it appears that the Kingdom Party has a new lease on life, ‑‑ it will be interesting to watch this over the next three or four years ‑‑ I wonder just how the AKDC and Dr. Issem will move from here?"

"We need a rest before dinner", Phoebe rather timidly interjected.

"That is a great idea", Harold agreed, "let's head for the hotel ‑‑ you young people have many things to get caught up on, I'm sure".

"Yes", Rachel volunteered, "but let's get together for dinner this evening ‑‑ anyone that can or wants to, how about meeting at the little restaurant around the corner from the Jerusalem Hotel?"

     "Ok", ‑‑ they all agreed.

Sam and Sadie noted, "we need to touch base with our family ‑‑ we have really neglected them ‑‑ they are quite sure we are weirdos ourselves.  They for sure will think this when we tell them about our Lord and Savior".

"Harold", Sam ventured rather pensively, "how should we go about telling our family that we now know the Lord ‑‑ that we are now Christians?"

"Well, dear ones", Harold thoughtfully reflected, "it all depends upon many things ‑‑ things that we can't control or even manipulate.  Therefore, in general, let the Lord Himself guide by His Holy Spirit. He is in you, ‑‑ ask Him to give you the right words, the `deeds', the time and His preparation of their hearts".

"I'll bet", said Rachel, "they will see the difference in you ‑‑ your life style, ‑‑ they will ask you!".

"Many times that is exactly how the Lord works through you",  Phoebe ventured, "Christ in you the hope of Glory ‑‑ showing out to everyone you meet ‑‑ they can't miss the difference ‑‑ especially in your early years".

"You know, dear ones", Harold interjected, "what you have done in accepting God's plan and salvation for you through Jesus will probably not be understood by your family ‑‑ in fact, in extreme cases we know of new Christians that were `as dead' to the Jewish family and community!".

"Sad, ‑‑ but true", Phoebe agreed.

"My family here", noted Sam, "are not heavy into Judaism ‑‑ perhaps they will be open to hear and understand ‑‑ let's pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare their hearts as He did ours!"

"Hey honey", Sam consoled, "in our Lord's time they will all be prepared and ready ‑‑ you and I need only to be available to meet their needs ‑‑ available to be used of our Lord".

"Great! Sam", Harold cheered, giving Sam a slap on the back, "it is great to see you growing so fast in our Lord!".

"You know", Sadie added, "since we asked Jesus to be our Savior  recognizing Him as our Messiah, ‑‑ Sam and I have found a real hunger for the Bible, ‑‑ God's Word is so real and meaningful to us now! ‑‑ also, our Father God has given us a great desire to see our own families and friends come to know Him too!"

"That is great, honey", Phoebe exclaimed, giving both Sadie and Sam a little hug, ‑‑ "and remember, now you also have an extended family of brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus ‑‑ with Harold and me at the head of the line".

This was greeted by an exchange of hugs all around the `group' ‑‑ Rachel squealing her delight in this part of her `new family'.

The `group' was still in the Knesset Hall ‑‑ it was now 5:15 pm ‑‑ the cleaning people were busily starting their  `nocturnal' chores, getting an early start on cleaning the hall.

"We've got to get out of here", Rachel noted, "they'll be sweeping us out into the alley if we don't hurry".

With that they all moved out of the Knesset and to their own living quarters.

Chapter 16     Forced/Early Departure from Israel

At the hotel, Phoebe literally `crashed' onto her bed, while Harold sat at his favorite window seat, overlooking Old Jerusalem from their third floor vantage point. As he took in this early evening scene, deep shadows were creeping across the street, lights were beginning to blink on, ‑‑ yes, Harold thought, April 5th '1990' was soon to be history.

With that thought, Harold reviewed the `history' of the day just past ‑‑ man alive he thought, how could you write it, ‑‑ who would believe it, ‑‑ truly a strange yet marvelous day. There were a number of truly supernatural expressions, ‑‑ some directly from God, others allowed of God via Dr. H.A. Issem to set the `negative' or `evil' test base for Israel and man. That, thought Harold, is a fantastic expression of our God's grace ‑‑ giving man every opportunity to choose Him.

At about 6:30 pm Harold woke with a start ‑‑ he had dozed off while contentedly musing about all these great events of this fifth day in Israel.

"Hey sleepy head", Harold prodded at Phoebe, "let's get ready to meet the young people over at the restaurant, ‑‑ ok?"

"O‑o‑o‑K‑a‑y", rather begrudgingly came from Phoebe on the bed, "it will take me just a minute to get my brain and feet working together, ‑‑ did you get a nap, honey?".

"I guess I did, ‑‑ I dozed off somewhere between very blessed and deep thoughts about what our Father has allowed us to see and experience today".

"It has been incredible, hasn't is", Phoebe said as she stirred to her feet.

"It will be interesting to compare notes", Harold mused, "and to get caught up on the outside news.  Do you realize, we have been basically cut off from news of home in the USA ‑‑ we don't know how L.A. is faring after the Hoover Dam earthquake ‑‑ we don't even know for sure what is happening at the Temple mount right here next door to us ‑‑ we must get over there and see the progress."

On April 6th, '1990', the radio, TV, hotels, airlines and other traveler related entities were rather frantically informing visitors to Israel that they must leave soon due to shortages of fuel ‑‑ already all airlines had been cut back to 50% of normal, and this was expected to be reduced to about 20% within a few weeks. Naturally this is forcing all flights to full capacity!!

Harold called PAA to check on their return, they  were on the spot scheduled to depart the next day.  Tomorrow!

This left both he and Phoebe rather flabbergasted ‑‑ but they agreed  that they must go along with the emergency. So they were scheduled to leave at 3:45 p.m.  from Tel Aviv airport ‑‑ tomorrow! ‑‑ That's April 7th.

Sam and Sadie received the news that they too must return to the USA with real pathos ‑‑ they were in a dilemma!!  They really want to stay.  They certainly do not want to return early.

Sam mused to himself, "Maybe by this the Lord is indicating that we should stay here".

Sadie had just come to the same thoughtful position, but, really, she thought, practically, they should return to the USA to clear out their apartment and say good bye to relatives and friends.

"What do you think honey" Sam asked.  "I think," Sadie replied softly  and rather pointedly, "we should seriously consider having Rebecca close out  our affairs there in Los Angeles."

"WOW", Sam said rather quietly, "that's exactly the leading the Lord just gave me!"

Rachel had heard the news that visitors to Israel had a decision to make ‑‑ she hoped the Monroe's wouldn't have to leave early, they were due to leave on the 14th ‑‑ she really wanted to spend as much time with them as possible.

Jacob heard the news of visitor termination ‑‑ he immediately called the Monroe's, finding that they had been re‑scheduled to leave tomorrow.

"Harold," Jacob said, "we must get together before you leave ‑‑ we must establish lines of communication".

"Yes" ‑‑ Harold replied, "Phoebe and I feel an imperative to keep close to our `group' ‑‑ we feel that our Father God is uniquely using each of us in a special way through all of these events related to His word of Prophesy."

"The wonder of it all,"  Jacob interjected, "is that God has allowed us a part in this great end time drama."

     "Fantastic", Harold softly interlaced.

     "Truly!", Jacob replied.

There followed a long silence ‑‑ both men were seeking proper words to say ‑‑‑ finally, Jacob broke the silence.

"Harold, God has used you to bring light and order to us ‑‑ now we see with God's perspective and are able to suitably respond.

"It is clear to me," Jacob continued over the telephone, "that, indeed, Jesus is the Christ ‑‑  and we now look forward to His coming again ‑‑ to His Return".

"Jacob," Harold broke in, "do I hear you saying that you know that the Lord Jesus Christ is indeed your Messiah?"

"Right,", Jacob practically shouted, "I do so believe!!"

"Great", Harold affirmed ‑‑ "but have you asked Him to be your Savior?"

     "Is there more?" Jacob asked.

"Knowing is wonderful, but only part of the transaction", Harold firmly stated.

"What do I lack?", asked Jacob.

"You only lack acting on that great truth concerning your Messiah, ‑‑ The Lord Jesus Christ,"  Harold carefully replied.

How can I complete this `transaction'?"  Jacob quietly and expectantly asked.

"You, and every other person in the world must come the same way, ‑‑ You must act on the Knowledge God has given you as He has called you ‑‑ accept Him as your Savior, recognizing your sin  that He took on himself for you on the Cross.  Believe Him ‑‑ invite Him to come into your life, to be at the center of your being."

"I want that ‑‑ desperately", Jacob softly noted, "will you pray with me to that end, Harold?"

You bet, Jacob," Harold joyfully replied, "please pray with me Jacob."

"Dear Father, we come to you right now through these phone lines to tell you that we love you very much and want  your will and way in our lives.  The Lord Jesus Christ came to save all that will come to Him ‑‑ Jacob here has experienced your love and desires to be related personally to you."

"Jacob", Harold suggested, "just express yourself to God (He is still the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob ‑‑ as well as Jacob Levi.)"

"Thank you Father", Jacob painstakingly ‑‑ perhaps even falteringly, whispered. "I need you Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart -- please take away my sin and be my Savior and Lord."

There was joy and sadness in the `group'.  Joy that Jacob had accepted Jesus ‑‑ sadness, that some of their number must leave so soon!  They had time to briefly share their joy with each other ‑‑ again reviewing the events of the week and the expectations for  the future.  It was agreed that they would keep in contact ‑‑ Jacob assuring  that their scheduled `Ham operation' contacts should be a good backup.  There were tears of joy as they all expressed their love to each other with individual and collective hugs. Their good-byes were expressed pointedly ‑‑ yet knowing that they would soon (only a matter of some 10 years) be together forever!!

    Chapter 17           Homeward Bound

On the plane, Harold and Phoebe were recounting the last seven incredible days ‑‑ and, although their time had been cut in half, they had experienced a life time (really many life times)  of very deep and dynamic activities.

"Whew", Harold exhaled, ‑‑ he had unwittingly been holding his breath, ‑‑ "these have been and will continue to be drastic times ‑‑ but how can we tell others? ‑‑ How can we help others to prepare? ‑‑ How can we ‑‑‑."

"Yes," Phoebe exclaimed, "it will be essentially impossible ‑‑ It just isn't 'logical’ ‑‑ it makes no sense ‑‑ not ours for sure."

"That certainly is a problem", Harold mused, "we'll just let the Holy Spirit lead and instruct! What else can we do?"

"With travel curtailed", Phoebe rather hesitantly noted, "we can't expect to get back to Israel or expect any of our new friends to come to the USA".

"That seems rather definite, ‑‑ we will have to rely almost totally on our ham operator friends to give us any updates", Harold thoughtfully retorted. "We must all stay close to His Throne of Grace -- asking our Father-God to guide and direct them and us".

"Actually," Phoebe noted "we are all essentially isolated, we can't physically help them in Israel and  they can't physically help us in the States."

"But", interjected Harold, "although our physical ability is nil to help others around the world, perhaps we can help some around us. Of course, we will not be too well received ‑‑ this depending upon many factors that we can't even begin to imagine.  Yet, only the credibility that the Holy Spirit can provide will be worth anything ‑‑ it's just too wild!!"

"The important thing, honey, "Phoebe countered, "is that we be faithful to do what our Lord asks ‑‑ He will direct ‑‑ He will provide."

"Your right, of course,"  Harold mused.

"You know, Rachel was right,"  Phoebe reminisced, "the 'Returns’ we have seen, ‑‑ Prophets, Moses, King David and expectations for the whole house of Israel ‑ are but the signals for the 'main event' ‑‑ the RETURN of Messiah, ‑‑ the Lord Jesus Christ."

"That sure is potent honey, and with the Passover this year, it appears that King David has set in motion those prophesies we have been watching for years, wondering just how they would be implemented."

"Let's see", Phoebe speculated, "Israel should repeat the sacrifice of the `Passover' in six months, right?" "Right". "Then", Phoebe continued, "the Prince ‑‑ King David ‑ will initiate the Daily Sacrifice ‑‑ his special praise to God".

"That should be in late October or November of this year," Harold whispered, "probably just following the `repeated Passover' of October 10th ‑ 17th '1990'.  What a year!!"

Phoebe continued that thought, "Then there will be a dwell period of over 2‑1/2 years before the Daily Sacrifice is ordered to stop ‑‑ this initiating the Beginning of Sorrows period of 1290 days leading to the Abomination of Desolation and the Daily Sacrifice being stopped, not to mention the start of the 45 day Tribulation period."

"That's the way I see it too," Harold noted, "then at the end of the 45 days, the blessed gathering of the church (the true body of Christ) will occur in the air ‑‑ the `Rapture', so called."

Then the wrath of God,"  Phoebe exclaimed, "it will start and continue for about 3‑1/2 years ‑‑ basically chastising Israel for her unbelief -- after which the Lord Jesus Christ and His body (the true church)  will return to earth in power and great Glory to claim His Bride (true Israel)!!

"Yes," Harold affirmed, "Great days now ‑‑ even greater in the years to come."

Chapter 18            Continuance?

           ‑‑‑ The End ?? ‑‑ Not Really !! ‑‑‑ Awaiting HIS RETURN!!!

Note: a  detailed 'time‑line’ together with it's scriptural justification for the above end‑time projections are provided in the appendix -- together with many key elements of the End-Time.

Please note that until Israel gets the land, divides it, celebrates the two 'Passovers' six months apart and the  Prince of Israel starts the Daily Sacrifice, -- the true calendar dates cannot be known -- these are God's "PIN NUMBERS" to the End Time start up!

Our 'base-line' calendar date for the Daily Sacrifice was taken to be '1990' (see the Foreword) -- noting that the reader must cog this and other related dates forward on a year by year basis to the actual time of the Daily Sacrifice to allow  the true (following) dates to be projected or determined.
